Hey rich, I am a flyfisherman from Idaho. Me and my fam come down to the keys every year and go fishing! Love your vids keep up the great work man! Every time I watch your vids it makes me so jealous because I want to be there😂
When you take the yak I always like that. The variety you caught was like the box of chocolates, we never knew what you were going to get. If those bones kept getting bigger you wear about to have your hands full. Thanks for putting this video out because we were waiting for it. 😎
Awsome to see you still catching ‘em! Hope everything is great for you and your wife.Keep the grind going you got me motivated to go out kayaking tomorrow! 🙏🤙🏼
Thanks so much for watching!! Everything is good on our end. Karina and I are just waiting and waiting for her visa to be approved. Sadly it’s taking forever but that’s life we are staying strong and happy! Good luck out in the kayak!!
I was doing some research on that rod (currently sold out) everything I read pairs it with a 2500 or 3000 series reel. Is there any difference pairing it with a 4000 as you have in this video? What impact does a heavier reel have on a rod? Thanks in advance. I'm just trying to learn!
Awww sorry to hear that it’s sold out. Every reel is different for its size. This daiwa is kinda small for a 4000 so it fits really well. It’s a very light reel and very well balanced. That’s also just my personal opinion. I don’t work with daiwa at all.
Maybe it was the camera angle but it looked like that catfish almost got you when he flipped out of your hand. Personally, I always use a dehooking tool on them
Thanks so much!! Getting the trim unit rebuilt and it’s almost finished. I have some boat videos on the back burner that I haven’t posted yet! Cool tournament video on the boat this Sunday morning!
What kind of structure are you fishing? And why are bone fish so fun to fish for? I’ve never caught one, but I guess I don’t see the allure. Entertaining video as usual!
Can anyone recommend a good spinning combo setup for under 200 for inshore fishing in the keys? I’d be fishing off a property facing the ocean and looking for mangroves, jacks and maybe small tarpon. I should say there are so many sites and options it’s a bit overwhelming
St Croix Bass X medium action rod (7’1” long, 8-12lbs line, 3/16-5/8oz lure) Shimano Sahara 3000 spooled with 10lbs braid This’ll probably come in right at the top of your budget but it’s currently one of my top 2 favorite combos for inshore fishing. I know it’s technically a “freshwater” rod but personally I find it works great for light tackle inshore. A lot of inshore rods these days feel “dead” to me and I get a lot more sensitivity from Bass rods, especially for light and small lures. Good luck
@FishAholicTV I fish trout in Norcal. Certain places barbs are illegal. All you do is crimp them with needle nose pliers. Works better with a fly rod.😊
Ohhh yeah they were sooo good. I was going to do a catch and cook in the end. But i dropped my GoPro in the water at the launch and I didn’t have the water proof door on so I wasn’t in the mood to film for a bit. Haha 😂

Nice multi-species day Rich - Thanks
"It's a pretty big ladyfish for 12 pound test." You don't hear that every day 😂 Another great video!

Good morning, I would like to know if you can tell me the name of the thing you use inside your car to carry the poles, thank you.

Where did you get those shoes? Always looking for an excellent pair to wear while kayak fishing.

@Kltpzyxm17 why not both? Enjoy the smoked fish more brother. Gotta think ahead
Do you have info for your kayak setup?
Great segment, how's the boat coming along?
I know of nice super yacht in Sicily.
Slightly used.

They’re extremely strong and fast for their size. They’re a very fun fight on light tackle
Were you just outside of the channel here? You mentioned 12ish feet. Structure around?

@@alexanderren1097 Thank you for the suggestion!
Cool video Rich! You visiting LI for the fall run at all?
Need a challenge, Rich?
Go barbless. 😊
I DARE YOU!
Haha yeah I will do that next time!!
@FishAholicTV I fish trout in Norcal. Certain places barbs are illegal. All you do is crimp them with needle nose pliers. Works better with a fly rod.😊
Lady fish…poor man’s tarpon. Not trash…any fish that strips line and likes to jump is a sport fish to me.
I blind casted a 9 lb. Bone in the keys using an old Mitchel 300 and a dead shrimp on a small jig head. Has to chase it so I didn't get spooled
A 9lb bone! That ain't a fish, it's a whole skeleton. 😂
@@johnrickards1908 pure luck. I worked at gray,s taxidermy back then and mounted it myself
You ever try doa shrimp
Love me some pompano
