I think you will find that the term ‘dreadlocks’ is not as old and the actual hairstyle. Braids and locks were worn by the Vikings and celts in Europe a thousand years ago. The term ‘dreadlocks’ was created in Jamaica last century.

The black woman in the video had her hair bleached blonde and straightened and didn’t see the irony at all in what she was saying. I love how you described it because that’s exactly what it is. Vikings, Egyptians, Celts, etc.)
Thing is, most things people claim as "culture appropriation" is not even truly their culture...and what's even weirder is that said groups actually tent to appropriate cultures of many others at the same time. It's so hypocritical. That's why it's not racist to SHARE cultures. If was done for the past 5,000 years or more.
