Yeah. As a guy who considers himself a lifelong "rocker dude", there are a few bands that I always liked that my friends always gave me crap for. This is one of them. Duran Duran is another. George Michael is another. Screw them. I like what I like my dudes.
Music taste is subjective, which is why that it is important to remain true to yourself. How boring would it be if everyone liked the same music? You will find that a group of ‘friends’ who dislike particular singers/bands, because they think they will be ridiculed to admit their taste goes against the majority. There is only one person in charge of your music preferences - you! Be original and honest to yourself and others, don’t be a sheep, the three artists you refer too are three of my all time favourites. I have seen them all live, I have every record they have released on vinyl, cassette and cd. I have found negativity from some people at differing times but f*ck them, the hours and hours these artists have brought to my life the pleasure is immeasurable. 😊
Where can I listen to your songs? Please let me know. Oh, that's right you dont have any. And a hint, don't listen to music you don't like. A novel idea, right? 😂
In my oppinion their third album is one of the best pop-albums ever made. Almost every song in my opinion is good or great. And yes - "Woman in Chains" is an outstanding ballad.
I have always loved Tears for Fears since they released these songs. Mad World & Shout are a couple of my favorites. Head over Heels & Everybody wants to rule the world are awesome too.
Filmed at the library at University of Toronto - I accidentally walked onto the set and got yelled at lol. Great song, and terrific choice - got me grooving at my desk up here in Canada. Cheers!
I went to the same school as Curt Smith back in the day. He lived 6 doors up from me. I didn’t hang around with him as he was in the year above. When they formed a band called Graduate I used to go and see them perform in local churches and a place called the Pavilion in Bath, Somerset (our home time). Then one day they became Tears For Fears and the rest as they say is history. For me they were the sound of my youth and the 80s. Such great songs and great memories.
Noel Gallagher calls them the Beatles of the 80's. They were so ahead of their time. I'm 42 and grew up listening to all my dad's music and Tears For Fears just blew my mind. Absolute genius
I agree, they do have their own sound which is fantastic. Their songs still sound great today. And as others have said, Woman in Chains is a must listen.
YES!!!! Bringing me back to my senior year of High School; I thank God all the time for letting me grow up when I did and where I did (Brooklyn); it was a fantastic time.
SONGS FROM THE BIG CHAIR was a huge album for this band in the 80's with "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" being their big hit, but the entire album was incredible - "Shout", "Head Over Heels", "Mother's Talk" and the "Working Hour" are just incredible songs. Curt Smith (bass/lead singer) & Roland Orzabal (guitar/lead singer) are the two behind this band and wrote incredible songs. They internally imploded in the late 80's/early 90's and Curt left the band. Roland went on with the name of the band and wrote some incredible songs - "Elemental", "Raul & The Kings of Spain", "Break it Down Again". But Curt rejoined and all is right again.
There’s a distinct difference between not having cases of autism and not diagnosing or reporting cases of autism. The Amish community tends to avoid medical and clinical testing, so it’s very difficult to gauge the actual number of cases of autism.
This band is awesome. They have a great sound. I loved listening to them in the 80's and now! They were considered alternative rock, and I really loved that new sound.
I've always loved Tears for Fears, finally got to see them live at Blenheim Palace (Winston Churchill's gaff) in 2019 (from memory), they did all their classics. On the support list was White Lies, also brilliant. For me, the song to react to is Woman in Chains, but they're all bangers, so thanks for reacting to them again!
Love this song! I was 15 when this was released. This song takes me back to more carefree times. Bonfires on the beach, hangin out with good friends while cranking tunes (cassette tapes) on a boom box. Good times 🎉❤🤘🏼
Whaaaaat WHAT!!!!! Certain songs, certain songs will take me right back to the particular time in life. This specific time was a very nostalgic period of my life. I had a major crush on this particular girl, and every single song from this period will remind me of her. You see, she was absolutely beautiful. This was elementary school and that 2-3 year period will forever cement her in my memory at that age, at that point in my life. I look back on those days with such happiness. The only thing is, this girl never knew, or never will know the crush I had on her. You see, I was way too shy to ever mention such things. She was gorgeous and popular. I was shy, but was more of a class clown. She knew me, we shared smiles, laughs at my jokes but she never knew. The crazy thing is how dear I hold her in my memory and how happy these songs make me feel as I’m instantly taken back to the easier times in life, but she will never know. To have such feelings of a person who never knew, will never know and will always make me feel at peace and 10-11 years old at the instant sound of a song. Maybe I was a crush like that for another person in my timeline, maybe not. And maybe that’s what makes the feeling so pure, so happy, so nostalgic.
Woman in chains is my favorite and so is sowing the seeds of love & The Working Hour. I just saw these guys again for the 2nd time in 2023 and they sounded just like they did in the 80’s. They have a new album that they put out in 22/23 called the Tipping Point and it is stellar. Love these guys
Love the reaction! Huge TFF fan. Saw them live last year and they sounded so good. Still hitting those highs. As a budding musician raised in a corn field, their album 'Songs from the Big Chair' was so eye opening back in 1985. I suggest at least listen to the follow up track-'Mother's Talk'. *The album mix. Not the US mix* Blends real nice and it's a great jam. Keep up the great work!
I love Tears For Fears, I've been listening to their songs for over thirty years, "Head over Hells" is one of my favorite songs by them. I really like it when you comment on these songs from the 80s, like Tears for fears, Phil Collins,Genesis ,70s like Bee Gees. I would like you to comment on the videos by Tina Turner, David Bowie, which I also really like. 🇧🇷
I can't picture or remember the 80's without Tears for Fears in it. Great music and good people too. If you like the layers, the complex sound [which it is, youre gonna love "sowing the Seeds" which they did a few years after this one. It's an open nod to the Beatles, but it's SO so good.
Wow dude, core memory unlocked for me. I adored Tears for Fears in high school. Still do. Underrated as far as I'm concerned. I don't understand the haters. Roland Orzabal is a great vocalist.
Just saying, this band has an excellent catalog of music. Highly, highly talented musicians. One of the biggest bands of the 80's. Lyrical content and social commentary. Great great band. Thank you so much for giving them voice again.
If you were a Donny Darko fan as a teen the lead song, Mad World, is a cover of a Tears for Fears song. Michael did an amazing version for the movie, but the original is so heartfelt.
As a mom with two sons on the autism spectrum I'm sitting here in tears after hearing you say the Amish don't have autism. Not because you're wrong you're 100% right but because I'm excited to hear this outside of my circles. When my oldest son was born in 1985 autism was one in 10,000. When my second son on the spectrum was born in 2004 it was 1 in 54 or something around there. Now it is 1 in 23 they only start counting when the kids are 8 years old so the numbers a lot higher
Mr Pegasus, I'm a 62yo Brit. Discovered your reaction channel yesterday at 5pm. Couldn't stop watching and finally hit the sack at 4am. I can't commend you enough for your open minded approach and insightful analysis, not only regarding music, but life itself. I wish you every success and will continue to work my way through your back catalogue. Keep doing what you're doing, it's appreciated 😉
Tears for Fears is great, always enjoy listening to them. For another great version of this song check out Andy Mckee covering this song. Or another of his "Drifting" is a great song as well.
C'mon,! You gotta add this song to your playlist! I'm not a big TFF fan, but I love all the radio hits, especially this one. I have to stop what I'm doing everytime it comes on, so I can just enjoy it.
I love this song and band they are awesome they are a band from the UK it’s a fantastic band . Hey BP how is your wifie and your new daughter and what’s her name if you don’t mind me asking? Really like your reactions!
I always liked this song the most out of all their songs. I noticed after the song ended, RUclips served up Rick Beato's "what makes this song great EP-48" which is VERY interesting stuff. Breaking down the components of songs.
The character you thought might be Amish is Orthodox Jewish. As for the Amish having low rates of Autism diagnoses, that's because the Amish don't let their people go see psychiatric professionals to be diagnosed as autistic, by and large.
Loved the reaction as usual and I'm so glad you did it because I'd completely forgotten about it. I dunno, for some reason I had a stick up my a$$ about these guys when I was a teenager in 1985 and couldn't see what all the fuss was about. Nearly 40 years later, I get it. Funny how that works, eh? 😎😂 I must say that the Scarlett J-wannabe's hairstyle was a very bold and unusual choice back in the "The bigger my hair, closer I am to G*d" days of the 80s 🥸 🤘Rock on, Kelly 🤘
This was my first ever band I followed in my youngest year, then Bepeche Mode, Spandau Ballet, INXS, Duran Duran.. and so on,, it was Euro invasion in music..

Yup. This. Or Mad World... they have some great songs.
If Tears for Fears is not on your 80's playlist, then it's not complete until it is.
'Woman in Chains' is an absolute banger from them
Think he already did it
This is one of their best songs I think.
@@michaelasay8587 It isn't showing up when searching videos on the channel. Did it get blocked maybe? Tears for Fears usually doesn't block stuff.
Don't think he has x

This band is legend and they should be put in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
I have always loved Tears for Fears since they released these songs. Mad World & Shout are a couple of my favorites. Head over Heels & Everybody wants to rule the world are awesome too.
Women in chains!!
2 of my favorite rock songs ever are Everybody wants to rule the world &
Head over heels
Filmed at the library at University of Toronto - I accidentally walked onto the set and got yelled at lol. Great song, and terrific choice - got me grooving at my desk up here in Canada. Cheers!
Did they bring you to book?
Tears For Fears is very underrated for that era. They’re right up there in probably the top 3 bands of that time.
Yep.🙂👍
pop bands
They are definitely talented. I love their 80's sound
I went to the same school as Curt Smith back in the day. He lived 6 doors up from me. I didn’t hang around with him as he was in the year above. I saw them in concert in the mid 80s in Houston, Texas. One of the best shows I ever saw.
You can’t ignore how catchy that last part is. Once you’ve listened to this song a few times it will always be in your head.
This band is AWESOME. One of the biggest hits of the 80's. And you are right, their sound is unique.
I have always enjoyed their harmonies, instrumental and vocals
Mad World is great and the cover of it by Gary Jules is haunting.
So is Adam Lambert's cover when he was on Idol.
“Women in chains “is fantastic , also “break it down “is very good !
This band has always been class.amazing
Sowing the Seeds of Love and Break It Down Again are two of my favourites from TfF.

"Sowing the seeds of Love" is another really good one
Hey Pegasus, another song by this group you should check out is "Sowing The Seeds Of Love"
Sowing the Seeds of Love is probably their grooviest song imo with tons of layers he would enjoy. He would really dig that one.
'My Ding A Ling' Sing Along (with intro) - Chuck Berry, with Rocking Horse, London 1972 This one is amazing!!
This band is awesome. They have a great sound. I loved listening to them in the 80's and now! They were considered alternative rock, and I really loved that new sound.
Yes their sound is so clean and really good to listen to, them and Inxs, really produced well
