In this video we are showing you how to remove and replace the side view mirror on a BMW E65 E66 Model which is the 7 series from 2001 to 2008.
In order to remove the side view mirror the right way you will need to remove the door panel. We have seen people just trying to pry the door panel a little bit so they can access to the side view mirror but they tend to damage the door panels. So the right way will be to remove the door panel and for that purpose it is recommended to disconnect the battery at least 30 minutes before the repair because you will be very close to the side airbag and if you decided to disconnect the airbag the Airbag light will not be on after that.
You will not need any special tools for the repair. We showed you what tools we used in the video.

Excellent video on how to remove the door mirror on a BMW, for me the 2008 750Li. For example, I would have set off the air bag and broken all of the clips without your help. Also, I would've been very frustrated looking for that third T30 bolt/screw. Thanks again, great video, greatly appreciated.

Why the panel has to be removed konplitely when you only need top part of panel out of way in order to remove 3 bolts that hold mirror itself?
If u look at 4:08 ull notice plastic that covers the bolts for the mirror has a plastic section that the door panel covers. U won't be able to remove the plastic cover without removing the panel.
having a hard time putting the panel back. is there a trick to put the panel back. I wish you videotaped how to put the panel back
I followed this video and was able to change the mirror on my 2008 750li thanks. I put everything back together. Now my only issue is.. the door won't latch closed sometimes. Any idea why that is??

There is the great problem with the 2002 BMW 745i safety secondary hood latch.
There is no information anywhere on how to open the hood after the hood latch outside the front of the car is broken. Now my car is stuck forever.
The hood pops fine from inside of the car but the lever on the secondary safety hood latch at the grill is broken. How to fix?...i tried pulling the hook latch through the grill with a coat hanger but it won't budge. I sprayed it with everything, still nothing. I refuse to break the grill to get at it!

Hi guys I have a 2004 BMW 745i the latch inside to open the hood does not allow me to open it is there anyway I can get it open without using the latch

I don't think u do. What he meant by unplugging battery is to disconnect the negative cable only. Not positive also. When u work on any electrical part of ur car it's best to disconnect the negative cable and then press the brake a few times. This releases any stored electrical charge on the capacitors or simply wait about ten or fifteen minutes after u disconnect the neg cable to begin working on it

at 1:40 on the video where he first starts prying it apart, there's a tiny cover over a screw that NEEDS to be taken off BEFORE you start prying.. I jus broke mine cuz this dude is a fuckn amateur and skipped that part.. fuckn RUclips mechanics.. shoulda taken it to the dealership like I normally do.. lesson learned
