- The Watchers Movie Review
Hey everyone, welcome back to Zach Pope's (@ZachPopeReviews ) channel! Today, I'm diving into "The Watchers," a new thriller from producer M. Night Shyamalan, written and directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan, and based on the novel by A.M. Shine. This film stars Dakota Fanning, Georgina Campbell, Oliver Finnegan, and Olwen Fouere.
"The Watchers" follows Mina, a 28-year-old artist who finds herself stranded in a mysterious forest in western Ireland. As she seeks shelter, she becomes trapped with three strangers, all under the watchful eyes of eerie, unseen creatures While I enjoyed the film, I have to say it's a bit of a mixed bag. The setup is gripping and the performances are strong, especially from Fanning and Campbell. The cinematography by Eli Arenson beautifully captures the haunting forest setting, and Abel Korzeniowski's score adds to the tension.
However, the last 30 minutes left me with some issues that I can't overlook. Without giving away too much, the conclusion feels rushed and some plot elements don't tie together as smoothly as they should.

Thanks for watching everyone!
I rolled by eyes during the backstory. The mom should have known:
1. There was a lock window control button for passengers after you roll up window
2. always pull over if you have to turn around and talk to your kid
3. Always wear a seatbelt
Awesome review man! I wish I would of hit on in my review where they were running and stopped to look at something I totally agree and thought it’s a time where backstory didn’t need to be told and could of been taken out.
I really liked it. It didn’t scare me but it did keep me interested… And Dakota Fanning was fantastic in this movie. I’d give it an A
I’m confused about the so called hallucinations? Was those other shapeshifters, who can also day walk ?
The stop exposition during escape didn't bother me. Its a half day walk to the lake/river, could be their rest break
You’re like the 4th reviewer I’ve seen say there’s multiple endings for this movie lol. One reviewer was like when you think it’s ended leave immediately because you’ll leave on a much better note than the actually ending lol.
Side note. Love the touch with the watchers hat lol
Thank you so much for noticing the hat haha
And yeah it’s really baffling ool
there's only 1 ending. its a series of ending events (not different what if scenarios)
0:26 that’s funny you said that, because when Sean Chandler was interviewing the director and asked her which of her dad’s movies the most special to her, she said Lady in the Water and The Village lol
Small world lmfao😂 makes a lot of sense
@@ZachPopeReviews “Oh yeah, it’s all coming together”
If you know, you know ;)
I've seen about 8 reviews and the consensus is remarkably similar. It has a great build-up in the first two acts, but the ultimate reveal is a let-down. Also, there's a point where the movie seems to be over but it still drags on another 20 minutes.
Yup exactly lol
Not terrible is a pass from me haha Might check it out on streaming though!
