@@tutteturunen6822 thats why its a shame the presidents cup should be open to all of our best golfers no matter who they golf for. Its supposed to be USA against everyone else instead it's the pga tour against everyone else. So it should be called the pga cup
@@tutteturunen6822 ya I'm aware of that. It's stupid how they make it sound like it's the USA vs international countries. Its needs to be called pga cup if only pga players can participate. The pga needs to grow up regarding liv. They are not going anywhere.
I’ve been saying for years the Internationals will someday be the strongest of the 3 teams. I have no problem when teams dominate even for an extended period of time. As Tiger would say it is what it is. The sad part for the presidents cup team is that they are deep enough to win but they desperately need access to the LIv players. Joaco (second in LIv) Cam 7th Burmester 9th Ancer 12th Ortiz. 13th Oostheisen (6th) is ahead of Leishman (15th); and everyone else for that matter except Joaco. Lahiri at 16th on LIv would also merit strong consideration. If everyone could be considered this international team would be represented by more countries and regions. And frankly be a better and more interesting team to watch. But on the bright side 3 canadiens will get to play at home, which is nice…for Canada. Personally I think these two teams will be closer than peeps think and I’m not ruling out an upset. But for me how competitive it is is not as important as The biggest stars and best players being there for both sides. That’s where they lose me a little. And think a lot of people. Kudos to the PGA but they really need a qualifier system for LIv for the PGA championship. Hopefully that comes soon. Because the best players being in the majors imo is much more important than these team events. Much much much more important.
I don’t follow LIV, but there needs to be a pathway for LIV players to play in majors and for the team events! It’d be great to see some combined events too! I don’t believe the door should be open for PGA Tour players to play on LIV and vise versa though. Pick one tour and stay there!
Tom Kim may have single handedly made this President's cup worth watching. But I am getting some national/geographic golf viewing fatigue: Curtis Cup, Solheim Cup. Ryder Cup, President's Cup, College Amateur golf. The only golf I don't watch is pro golf....what a snore.
Sure they are allowed to play. But they only get 4 chances (majors) to make enough points. On top of that they don’t get to earn points to get into the majors.
Real simple, the PGA needs to remove their heads out of their respective %$$#@, check the egos at the door and make a deal. The ship has sailed on whether LIV is gonna make it, like it or not and the fan experience is at an all-time low. Just simply look at the viewing numbers. As far as LIV players giving money back, what a joke. The top 20 players on the PGA Tour have become super rich because of LIV and by the way, this whole Premier or Elevated event crap, what a joke. We need to have Full representation for the Ryder Cup, President's Cup, etc or why have these events.
Until the International Team can start winning, this event, it will basically be a feel good event for the USA until the Ryder Cup comes around again. The Ryder Cup, since, Europe as a whole was added, now has a built in "animosity". Who can forget Olazabal dancing on the green after Europe won a Muirfield Village or the "War by the Shore". Maybe the President's Cup has some intersting Sunday finals, but face it, it is not the emotional feelings of the Ryder Cup and it is doubtful it never will unless the Internationals start fielding winning teams.

Rumyyan went to USPGAT to have them not go ahead with suing them after it was awarded in counterclaim, and to invest PIF $$$ into Tour golf away from Livv, which has to be approved by US Govt. first anyway. USPGAT has media and sponsors up to 2030 and investors still waiting in line, while Livv pays a network barely known and had its highest ticket selling exhibitions in Oz lose over $90 million each in that countries currency. PIF needs over double USPGAT revanue to break even, but Livv has reached its limit with nothing on the horizon given the liw viewing and near zero business interest to date.

The US doesn't own the sport but they do have the higher quality players and that's just pure math; more golfers to choose from honed in higher, consistent competition.
