I will never ever tire of hearing this album. This and Run DMC - Raising Hell were the first two rap albums I ever heard as a kid.
Motley Crue girls girls girls run DMC raising hell and ll coojl j bad. The first three albums I paid for myself
Flea market bootlegs. 5.00 each. I had to draw my own album covers. Lol
@@wealldieatthehandsoflovedones that's awesome. Bigger And Deffer by LL Cool J was one of the first CDs I ever bought. I got the self titled album from Whitesnake the same day on CD.
Raising Hell by Run DMC, Radio by LL Cool J and Licensed to ILL by Beastie Boys is the Holy Trinity of Rap.
@@etiennekosa Bigger And Deffer was my first LL album. I had to go back to get Radio a few years later.
The best rap albums ever, when I was in Junior High school.
wow how special after all these decades for me to learn the derivation of so many samples i've enjoyed thousands of times on the Beasties' first album. Those dudes changed my life for the better forever
I just love that jimmy page didn't care and respected their artistry.
well he would be a hypocrite if he got mad😭 zeppelin is one of my favorite bands ever but they stole sooo many riffs, drums, lyrics, etc.
Ok I gotta listen to license to ill again now
I met John Fogerty in Las Vegas several years ago and I did ask him if he ever heard the CCR sample, and he stated to me that he thought it was kinda cool. I give proper accolades to JF for not being such an uptight individual.
TH3DANKs Almost you cause a Beastie's Money loss for Copyright.
I can’t believe after all these years I didn’t realize sweet leaf was in rhymin and stealin
I knew it was zeppelin's drums and sabbath's guitar as soon as i heard it.
Dude I didn’t realize it FOR YEAARS. Feel so dumb .
same here
Only took me a few decades 😁
It's also used as the outro for Give It Away by the Chili Peppers
The ACDC parts are muted because the godfathers or lawless rock n roll rebellion won't even let you use a ten second clip without blocking you for violating their copyright. How ironic.
AC/DC have always had a problem with the Beastie Boys
No, it’s because the godfathers of lawless rock n roll rebellion are signed to a giant record label run by greedy capitalists who don’t care about art
AC/DC sucked anyways
Right????
aw cmon you think acdc would do that themselves? its the management and record companies that do this
8:08 Custard Pie By Led Zeppelin
... and Kerry King from Slayer came across the hall to perform No Sleep till Brooklyn, both groups were being produced by Rick Rubin
Yea, both groups signed to Rubin as well, def jam/def America.
And Fight for your Right
I find this so fascinating.
Check Your Head 👍✌🏼
I finally know where "looking at my Gucci" comes from! Thanks!
The record by Philadelphia's Shoolly D, "PSK (What does it Mean?)" and it's b-side Gucci Time is credited by many rappers as the first "gangsta rap".
That Curtis Blow sample is also the source of the “‘twas the night” loop from Public Enemy’s “Night of the Living Baseheads “
Mind Blow'n! I never really knew, but I always knew I knew....
Do Fatboy Slim.. He has always said he has samples in his music no one knows about. Yet
DoctorBlankenstein
I did this months ago, go have a look 😊
That’s why Rick Ruben is a fu**ing Genius!
I like how on the ocean piece you added an extra beat. Lol nice.
"Lookin' at my Gucci it's about that time." For 32 years I wondered what the hell they were saying.

Make one of the future vids with: MARRS - Pump Up The Volume
YES a thousand times yes. I'm only 20 but ever since my dad showed me that song and it's impact back when he was DJing when I first started I have been fascinated with that song and have been able to find every sample both uk and us 6+12" records aside from a few with the female Hindu? vocal after the put the needle on the record bit.
Great video!!! Next The shamen please bro!

WOW
I got two suggestions of albums to break down the samples of by 3rd Bass: 'The Cactus Album' & 'Derelicts Of Dialect'; the only two albums I think they did...cool video by the way
No Sleep Till Brooklyn sampled AC/DC’s TNT
Slayer's Kerry King played on that song
It was just a similar riff, not enough to be featured in this video
what about the riff in No Sleep that was AC?DC " tnt'

Yeah but In slow and low... what is the sound ... it sounds like a single engine airplane off in the distance... you know what I mean?

It’s great! And over three times as long , of course!
Please dj aphrodite!!!!!!
Only reason I enjoyed BB was cuz they had Led Zeppelin samples. 😎
d
I guess The New Style ain't so....
NVM I won't finish that
Only 13 notes and it's amazing what can be done with them. I love Zeppelin but they even was sampling many blues songs. I hate to say sampling, I don't see it any different than what musicians call influence! Lol Its what you do with it I guess . Nothing new just reoeatedover in different ways.
I don't think you understand what sampling is. Sampling is litterally using the sound from a record and putting it on yours in any form. What Zeppelin was doing is actually replaying stuff. Now wether it was stealing or not is another argument.
Not nearly as lackluster and lacking talent as Elvis. Zep actually credited their influences. They just turned blues into rock and roll and completely revolutionized how sounds were recorded along with the Beatles and Floyd.
@@scottgunn9978 I agre. Zeppelin is awesome. I prefer their music over any other made during that era.
maybe YUNG BAE ?
FK AC/DC
