Just got back into fishing about 6 weeks ago. I’ve already acquired 4 kayaks for me and my family in that time. 1 is a 12.5’ fishing kayak. Came to RUclips for a storage solution idea. You sir made a fantastic setup and I’ll be copying it Friday when I’m able to get the supplies. Thank you!
suggestion- you can use 2 90mmx45mm or 2 x 4 timber laminate together as your post, and your cantilever beam can be laminated in the middle. last thing, nice video thanks for sharing.
How well do the small ""shelves" hold up at those angles with kayaks on them? I see that you used 5 screws in each for stability. Are any of them bending downwards?
They’ve held up really well with just a normal kayak on them. Though, my 4 year old was climbing around on it (on top of one of those kayaks) the other day and that one did sag under her weight, plus the kayak. So it’s not like ultra-heavy duty, but they’ve held up well with “normal” use.

Thanks, great video and ideas for my kayaks.

The hindsight about lowering the height to allow easier loading was a lightbulb moment for me. Thx
I got some value out of this. Thanks

Want to do engineering work? Buy a couple kayaks or canoes and you will be designing and building solutions in no time. 😊
Haha, yes indeed!
God stuff!
