  • At 26 Years, She owns a Multimillion Furniture Manufacturing Company in Nigeria is another episode of my promoting Africa series where I feature black entrepreneurs all across Africa who have built successful businesses and they tell us how they did it.
Today's episode is Miss Jumoke Dada who is a Nigerian entrepreneur who has built a successful Furniture Manufacturing Business in Nigeria from the ground up. She has also built one of the biggest Afrocentric Household Manufacturing Startups in Lagos, Nigeria. She shares her story on how she was able to build this business in Africa and some of the challenges she has faced on her entrepreneurial journey.

Why i love Africa and Nigeria isn't quiet simple, even though the circumstances are challenging, but the originality, the pride that comes with being black, the cultural differences and yet we are all proud to say we are Black. The strength that comes in our weakness, the desire for more, and the love in our hearts to see good.
I am proud to be Black
I am proud to be a Nigerian
I am proud to be African

@@TayoAinaFilms nice videos. But you didn't ask her the most important question ⁉️

@@TayoAinaFilms Thank you for the video and more kudos to Jumoke for what she's doing. However, I feel I must point this out even though nobody is doing that in the comment probably because they don't want to be seen as bad belle as Nigerian would always call you when you try to point out an error. It would have been nice if you asked the young lady about her source of funding the business, which makes this video seem like it's intended to show her off or castigate people rather than inspire others to be like her. I may be wrong but we know how naija people showoff when they make it even when their source is questionable. I'm sure you'll agree on that not that I'm suggesting she is like that. Starting a furniture business is not chicken change considering all the machines and tools you have to buy and we all know how difficult it is to get a loan for business in Nigeria but maybe she did get a loan, we need to know that since you're telling us about her or maybe she has a rich father who established her. I watched a similar video by Wode Maya interviewing Demi Samande who equally has a furniture business like Jumoke and anybody that saw it will quickly know the source of Demi's funding for her furniture business because she lived and worked abroad for a while but which cannot be possible with Jumoke considering her young age. Wode video is simply suggesting to those abroad that Nigeria is a fertile place for them to invest. If you hope to inspire people especially those who truly have big dreams in Nigeria with this type of video and not make them feel their life is useless, honesty is key especially from people you interview. Let them know the aim of the video so that they can be truthful enough, except there's a different intention for the video. All the same, well done

As someone who studied architecture too and loved furniture design but only had the opportunity to explore it while in school cuz no one took me seriously in Lagos, this was truly inspiring. Locally fabricated furniture is not only more authentic and meaningful in my opinion but saves so much cost in the long run and adapts design to the wonderful materials we have here in Nigeria, amazing video!

Watching this video has heightened my love for Nigeria. Despite our current woes as a nation where a lot of our people, especially our youths, have given up on the country and working tirelessly to abscond overseas for 'greener pastures', I still have this strong belief that the grass is greenest on this side only if we look inwardly and put in work in actualizing our full potential. Jumoke Dada's story is one of a strong Nigerian believer, and that should inspire others as well. Like I used to tell my peers 'God never made a mistake by making you to be born in Nigeria. He is intentional'. Nigeria is a land of limitless opportunities, that's why we see foreigners coming here to make use of them for their own gain, while ironically a lot of us are working hard to leave the country to theirs.
God bless Nigeria, and God bless every entrepreneur.
