- We have never seen so many SHARKS in our life. Boat life in The Kimberley is so far going well, but recently we have a new contender, determined to steal our dinner. Despite the challenge he is up against, Slim reels in an epic catch to keep us sustained and supplementing our tinned food and carb diet. This week we are going to show you some island time, before setting sail and pointing Nakama's bow West for a new island and discovering more of the Kimberley Dreamscape.

Slim and Soph,
The slim fish with a pointed beak that you called a gar, I'm sure, was a Balihoo; the best bait to troll for Mahi. If you come across them again, net them and place them in the fridge. They work well with a chain/bead rig or you can just run the hook through the mouth with it coming out under the gills. I wire the beak/bill flat to my leader which helps keep the hook in place.
Great episode and content; and awesome snapper.
Cheers!
Blue Skies and Fair Winds.
Faithfully,
James
What am amazing experience and we are all with you cheers
So glad you enjoyed 😊
Love you guys especially the Kimberley series
Cheers guys..
Wow, those shark scene's were amazing. I've seen folks chum sharks in French Polynesia and barely make it out with their lives ! Not to be messed with. One of the reason's I'm a patron is that you are in school. Plus, when your out, I'll need an attorney. LOL !
😂Cheers legend, you'll be Slim first client 😂

Cheers legend, so glad to hear you are both enjoying the videos 😊
We have wondered if possibly a CROC had eaten our favorite channel's Hosts? Great fishing expedition, delicious meal shared and best with your studies. Enjoy, your entertainment, knowledge and vigor keeps us afloat.
😂No croc has gotten us yet! Cheers legend, glad to hear you are enjoying the videos 😊

😊Woo!
Always glad to see an episode from you two. Just do what you can. We will be fine.
Cheers legend! Appreciate your understanding 😊
You're probably aware, but once you've taken up the slack of the chain try motoring (drive forward) the anchor out. Conversely hook that hook through a link and take a line from it back to a primary winch. Cheers, stay safe.
No explanations asked or needed - you two are a breath of fresh air - thanks for sharing, Soph & Slim - luv ya!!
Thanks so much, we really appreciate it legend! 😊
Do what you need to do guys, life and education first, I'm sure we'll all still be here waiting for the next episode. It's a great surprise with the random uploads lol. I've been all over the Kimberley's too and it's a fantastic place on Earth.

😀👍👍👍❤ I am amazed you were able to catch and land any fish with so many sharks. As always great video and editing. You really do need a drone to show off the beautiful Kimberley. Take care. Bye for now from a boat owner in Seattle, WA. (NW USA)

I thought you couldn't beat the thrill of catching fish. Then, the sharks and flying fish showed up thrilling me as much as Chili. Congrats on completing your internship. Thanks for sharing the breathtaking Kimberly's, wildlife in the sea, and on the shores, caves, and beaches. Bravo!

They look like Hungry Sharks to me! If that wasn’t a named variety before, it is now.
Yep! The name is very fitting! 😂
We really need to work to get the two of you more subscribers!

No stress about video schedule. U do amazing keeping all The balls in the air 👌 hope u enjoyed the internship - amazing that u’ll have a degree under ur belt and have circumnavigated Aus. And made a series of videos that tell the story. I don’t think there’s much to apologise for ❤️🙏
Great to see you guy's back, loving the Kimberly series
Cheers! So glad legend!
No apologies required.....life always comes first ......great channel.....good on you both
Those waters are 'shark infested' to a lesser degree than Sydney is 'people infested'. Lets face it, that is their home.
Loving the Kimberley series.. you don't see many you tube sailors up that region and going in depth like you guys do
So glad to hear! We are super lucky to be able to explore this unique and VERY remote region 😊
Pasta looked spesh 👍
Someone is chasing the wrong career, cause I need a plate of that and some crusty bread with a glass of chilled wine.
Well done.
😂mmm, bread and wine would have accompanied that perfectly 🤌
Great episode guys and all the best with uni ❤🙌
It seemed longer than 3 weeks.
Soph I reckon you almost had him with your fake wallaby spotting!
Those snapper were monsters!!
Has chilli ever jumped in the water?
Good on you guys. From a fellow sailor and someone who earlier this year finally did the Broome to Darwin trip on the Caledonian Sky it is terrific to revisit a lot of the places we saw albeit with five star comfort.Good luck with your studies and fair winds for the rest of your circumnavigation.
Cheers
Tim
Cheers! Ahh, awesome! So glad we can bring back some memories of the Kimberley for you 😊 Cheers Tim! appreciate it 😊
Hello !! Welcome back. I said it I think last video don't feel bad id your UNI gets in the way of You Tube as the Uni takes 1st place. It's great that you'll be bringing out weekly again.
And Soph it wasn't nice playing the prank on Slim after he actually caught some nice size fish.
looking forward to next week's video or is Slim going to take a couple weeks for Uni things lol.
See you later
Thanks legend, appreciate your understanding. Hehhe, no, if all goes according to plan, we will see you next week 😊
Another EPIC episode ! Thanks so much - y'all have quickly become my absolutely favorite sailing / adventure channel. Your enthusiasm and heart are truly infectious. As for the gaps in content - don't worry a bit about it - the degree comes first always ! We are happy to wait for your re-appearance ;-) The sharky night was very interesting to me. It's the lights that attract the baitfish which then attracts the predators. As a kid growing up, my father put auto lights on the dock of our family's property on a salt water creek that came on at dusk and went off at daylight. Over the years, the local speckled trout and red drum became used to the supper that was available every night and we had one HELL of a fishing spot for many many years, lol. I was trying to identify the shark species - but failing any certain ID I thought maybe they might be juvenile Bronze Whalers which are common in Australia ? (even though the adults are pelagic I thought maybe the young might grow up in estuarine waters, but I could be way off base on that assumption). I would be interested if you had any thoughts on the species. Take care, be safe, and I will await the next episode !
We're so glad to hear! And thank you for your understanding. Yeah! We also had the thought of Bronze Whalers, so interesting you said that too. But we are not 100% sure...cheers legend! Appreciate you tuning in 😊
Comment
🤠👍
They look like bronze whalers to me, vicious little buggers.
👍🏻🙏🏻⛵🐊🦈
Will the Crocs hide under the water? It's crazy to think they are just swimming in the ocean. We have alligators here in the US but they are normally docile.
We will forgive you
Eat the sharks they're bloody nice!!
