New Zealand consists of 3 main islands. There is the North Island, the South Island, and the West Island. Whilst the North and South islands have their own distinctive Maori names, someone decided to call the West Island "Australia".
You could probably use a lobster hook ... a piece of stainless bar a metre or so long with a 90 degree bend in it about 5 cm from the end ... you put the hook in around the lobster and let it grab hold of it, then you pull it out of the crevice :D
Crayfish, aka rock lobster, don't have claws. We use wire loops, pots or our hands. Spearing them isn't allowed on the west coast so that's not an option.
Dont stress on the frequency of the videos. We love them when they come, whenever that is. Well done on swimming at the Montes, we git totally freaked out by the sharks. Sharkiest place we’ve ever been!

It's good to have a back up but you have achieved the dream and have broken away from the norm by being able to sail and live the life of freedom which most people go to school, get a job and then can't afford to do those things when they retire or are so out of shape that they just can't. I love y'all, but I'm confused as to the purpose of these degrees you seek. You would have to leave your current amazing lifestyle to make use of those degrees. Of which are clearly more about conformity and a process/ system badly corrupted, that you have successfully left behind. Why on earth would you wish to return? $$$? It means nothing. This seems like such a contradiction.
Studying has allowed us to chase this lifestyle, with the added bonus of putting a degree under our belts. We are always hoping that we will be able to live freely out on the ocean, I think we will just have to figure out a way we can still do that whilst pursuing a career to maintain what we're doing 😊
