- I said what I said, Bambi is nothing like the Disney film... well... the films now. Yes, a Bambi book vs movie video, how original!
Also, who knew Bambi was a book?! It is! Written by Felix Salten. Bambi: A life in the woods

I have a vivid memory as a child of being in the movie theater with family and going to sit in my dad's lap because I was mortified when the Bambi's mom was...died. That was long long ago so that really impacted me. I don't think I could read the book. 😭
Let's don't even talk abt Where the Red Fern grows!! 😭😭😭
I had the same reaction when I found out it was a book! Thanks for the great review!😃
I read the book years and years ago - in high school or middle school? Yeah, I was a weird kid. And then I read it again a few years back (well, maybe a decade ago...) in the original German. All that said, pretty much agree with your review!
Have yet to read the proper Pinnochio - need to get on that! 😅
There is a sequel to this book as well… Bambi’s Children.
It goes into the lives of the fawns at the end of the first novel…
I’m glad I’m not the only one who didn’t know Bambi was a book!
Also, what in the world compelled Disney to take a story with the message “everything dies, you’re gonna die, trust can get you killed ” and think “yes, I will make this story for children”?
no Thumper?! What is even the point
bambi was a book?!?!
apparently?!
I've never watched the movie.....and will never read the book.
bambi gone dark
I feel like you misrepresent a lot of points in the book. Ex: Bambi learnt about mortality and danger quite a while after his birth. Not right at the beginning at the book as you seem to frame it.
Also, I feel like this is more of a book/movie summary than a actual review.
I feel it’s necessary to compare to the film as that’s the ground that everyone understands Bambi. To ignore the movie and the differences makes zero sense for such a work.
I don’t misrepresent the book. Is your view that the fragility of life is not a significant theme throughout? Cos if so that’s fine, I disagree but I wouldn’t say you are misrepresenting the book
Confession: I’ve never seen the movie 🤣
Have you ever read the book?
@@KDbooks nope! Didn’t even know it was a book 😂
You now can be the “I read the book before the film” person 😂😂😂
@@KDbooks lol I don’t know if I ever want to watch the movie 🤣 blasphemy - I’ve never cared about Bambi 🤣🤣🤣🤣
But… would you do it for me?
