Her NEVER ENOUGH live stage performance. at a Mother's Day concert LIVE IN LAGUNA is absolutely off the scale, it's a MUST WATCH, she gets a standing ovation, let's be honest though, what song wouldn't she get a standing ovation for, this performance was the best performance ever of this song, she's unbelievably MAGNIFICENT 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.
As to your pet peeve, I have heard other voice coaches say how smart it is for her to say "may" instead of "me" because it allows her to reach the note and transition properly (or something). They claim they teach their students to do that, too. But, as all fans of Mori know, she doesn't need to do it. She is perfectly capable of hitting the notes and making the transitions without using those "tricks" coaches teach to their less-talented students. So, that's a perfectly understandable pet peeve to have when evaluating a performance by a top-notch singer like Morissette.

For me it's a matter of preference some Reactors agree on "Me" because it sounds well than "mi" which is rough... I think it's a Singer choice on what suited for her knowing Mori she has the best vowel placement😍💗💕

hi, i believe on some occasion she pronounced the last "me" as you suggested, and actually performed it. i just couldn't pin point where it is exactly.

It cracks me up for mee for mee for mey lol. im not a singer but im guessing the reason why it was sung like that was it'd be hard to belt the last 'me' if it was pronounced as mee as one's mouth would be in a semi close position as opposed to mey where it's more open. Anyway that's my best guess haha

I've seen vocal coaches on RUclips rationalizing the use of "may" in pronouncing "me" and while they do have a reason for its use, I agree with you on this one as I did find "may" sounding kind of off when i first encountered it. This is what I’ve learned from vocal teachers that reviewed the same song…. The vowel “e” is one of the more difficult to belt out. It has something to do with the formation of your mouth and the placement of the tongue. Singing “meeeeee” doesn’t allow as much air passage as when belting our “ maaaaayyy”. Plus “mayyy” sounds more pleasant belted than “meeeeehhh”. I guess it’s the same reason why it’s “nevahhh, nevahhh” instead of “neverrrr, neverrrr”.

Edit: Yes just watched it to confirm. Check "QUEEN M A" channel posted feb 25. Its a stripped down version at home and casual. The great Mr. Adonis Tabanda is behind her on guitar. She does meh only one time, the rest is me.

Different coaches different approach & opinion.What ,we the ordinary listeners still gets the emotion & the message...just a simple joy.Not much of technicalities.The original was too simple & lacks the emotion until Morissette came up with this version.Only,then Allred interpreted this song a notch better. I think Morissette challenge her into this.

Very odd because you are the first and literally the ONLY vocal coach that I've seen react to this that hasn't literally PRAISED her for singing it as "maaay" rather than "meeee"...and believe me I'm a Mori FANATIC and I've seen HUNDREDS of vocal coach reactions to this performance. Just sayin'.
