Here in the Philippines we pronounce the vowels clearly in every conversation... maybe because of our mixed language(native tagalog, english, spanish, malay, indonesian, samoan chinese, sanskrit... etc). that's why when we sing in english or other language we pick up, we can easily get used to it.... and the funny thing to us as a filipino is most of us loved karaoke... with that we can train our voices in a funny or natural or what we say serious way of singing with or without emotions to it....:)
you said it right Mr Mike, the phrase Akin ka na lang = " Please be mine" this is her Original the high whistle registered at A6 the her first belt up at E5 that long belted phrase at the end without a breath about 14 to 17 seconds long.. she is self taught as it is common in the philippines most had not have any kind of formal lessons or couching music is very strong in philippine culture she didn't have formidable training until the latter part of her career when she started doing competitions... her father was in a band her family is very musical ....so that's a bit of her background her singing career began at age 9.
