Bio by She Rox All Female Bands: The Donnas began in 1993 from Palo Alto,California while the members were in middle school, the band gained attention by the late 1990's as a fun no frills rock band, in a time when music seemed to be way too serious the Donnas seemed to bring rock and roll back, although the band never saw chart success the fan base they gained far surpassed this, with seven studio albums, numerous soundtracks, movie and television appearances, the band's run lasted seventeen years, and although the band seems to be on a hiatus since 2010, their legacy still motivates girls that they can rock too. like us at / sheroxallfemalebands

I think it was from the film "Jawbreaker" that I first heard this band, and have thought they are great ever since. I shant lie and say that they are not aesthetically pleasing, especially to an old fashioned Metalhead- Stoner. Some of the most beautiful Ladies I have ever seen or met, have been "Stoner/Rock" Chicks... "70's style feathered hair" is to die for!. They are also down to Earth, and gregarious as well, and they know their heavy Metal.
Attractive, yes. But I never really gave a fuck about that aspect. I just got that vibe that, they are serious about ROCKIN' OUT! Would have loved to have shared a few bowls with the Donnas, and bullshit with them about stupid shit like: how a car is a time machine, and debating which is the best Black Sabbath album. My first crush was on the Queen of the 70's, Linda Ronstadt, her persona was very 'Rock Chick' to me.
