A product that you have to mod in order for it to work properly is in my opinion a very shitty product. Sure, it's a very decent yoke after you've modded it, but you shouldn't have to void the warranty just so that you can enjoy the product that you payed ~$200 for.
Yes rubber bands don't last forever but have you landed a plane using this yoke in flight sim? The crappy detent causes people to bounce around because of the non-smooth operation. You don't want the yoke to be too lose as you put your hand on it and it causes the plane to move. You need a little tension just as a real plane. Plus in a real plane when you are spinning or out of control I believe it is recommended to just let go of the yoke for the plane to correct itself which means the yoke returns to the middle position. It is not a big problem to replace them once in awhile.
I had a horrible amount of slop in the roll axis of mine to the point that the yoke would settle off center to the right. When I was at home depot buying the springs for the detent mod I also grabbed a pack of 84 assorted springs to see if there was one that would work for the roll axis and sure enough I found one with the right length and tension that removes the roll axis slop and makes it function unbelievably smooth. Idk why people complain so much about this yoke, with some easy mods like this, you can make it very good!

Armadillo compared to all the other yokes on the market this is cheap stuff.
Then spend the $800 on a yoko
Big E s or spend 200 on the honeycomb yoke
@@real_armadillo Some people just aren't cut out for DIY, it seems.
I tried two loops and liked the lack of high tension better. With three loops the roll has high and inconsistent amounts of tension.
Is there any mod to eliminate "rubbing" sensation when using pitch and roll at the same time with this yoke?
Hello, why do we need a springs? In real aircraft the yoke does not use spring. If i remove all the spring in my yoke is there going to be a problem?
I tried that too, but I didn't like it.
Do we need the zip ties?
I did without, but you got more risk that the rubber bands will get loose
@@timothy.niklas A little dab of hot glue fixes that.
How did you even open your yoke up like that?
Just unscrew all screws on the bottom
size of rubber bands?
It says #32 on the package. You can see more at Roger Dodger Blogger... www.rogerdodger.net/hacks-and-mods/saitek-pro-flight-yoke-fix-rubber-bands/
HOLA GENIAL GRACIAS Y SALUDOS.
Rubber bands dry out, especially when stretched continuously. Not a great idea. The spring mod is a much better and needed solution.
