Fun fact: in Ireland, there’s a traditional bread called “bairin braic” which is a bread eaten during Halloween. Barmbrack would traditionally contain a pea, a piece of cloth, a ring, but also a coin. So there is a chance that there might have been money in that bread, if so, we can assume this game is set in a dystopian Ireland ( also known as Cork city).
Elfilin cannonically has a Cork accent, good to know

Some slavic countries also have a tradition of putting a coin in their bread during Christmas, finding it is supposed to signal that you'll have a year of financial luck, and hopefully no broken teeth.
