This is a new video style. I’m trying called pre-Service. These are gonna be shorter vertical videos in a similar style to TikTok that are going to cover a variety of subjects, minimal editing, and candid responses. Today’s topic comes from a question about untrainable cooks, essentially a type of cook that seems like they’re never learning anything, and they seem to always be struggling and people reaching the end of their rope and trying to train them. In this video, I talk about what to do in the kitchen regarding these types of line cooks, and chefs and Tools, you can use to help train them or what you can do if they refuse to learn.

Give em an hour on the line and you'll know exactly what to expect going forward. Not because the service will be flawless but you'll know by the questions they ask, the hustle they have, the actions they take and the problem solving they employ.

Dude these videos are great. I've been in the restaurant industry for so long and the stuff your teaching is so on point. I'm guilty of this to a degree as well but there's always room for improvement :D

I just got promoted to kitchen manager. I had taken several years off restaurants because i was burnt out after 15plus years but living in a small town there isnt many work options around. Great little place good bosses but i admit im a little timid as i havent had a manger spot for many years.
Cheers to you for the video's! Ill be going through a bunch of your content as the day goes on im sure!

Kitchen people are kitchen people! Even some talented chefs are not ‘Kitchen People!’ It’s a political profession! It’s almost like the RUclips channels see about prison life! Saying please, and thank you? Excuse me? Owning your mistakes. Kitchen people are usually instantly visible, because of how they react to common problems. Owning your mistakes as a Chef is sure fire way to build a team! The most difficult job of a chef is not learning everything and being good. It’s making everyone else have your back when the Devil’s pitchfork stabbing you in the back. And everything goes wrong. That’s when you say, ‘Good Job!’ Next time we are going to show those hungry little piggies who is boss in this kitchen! 😘
