We have had rain the last few days and it might continue for another week so no real maiden for a while. I had a choice of the Haohan vtol or the T2 vtol but the Haohan has a bit of trouble in a crosswind so the T2 vtol was a great choice. Thanks again for the video.
Oh man ive been holding off on any vtol after the epic failure of my ZMO Vtol but after watching this and the ease of assembly and flight I will be taking my lunch money for the next few months and purchasing one of these. Thanks for sharing this experience with us!
Yep, the ZMO looks great hanging on the wall and well that’s about it 😞 Maybe after I get over how disappointing the ZMO has been, I’ll eventually outfit it with better servos, motors, and electronics.
Another fine video thank you! You really helped me with my T1 VTOL on an other video of yours! I would love to see some tutorial about RTL and how to adjust settings like, distance to change to QLOITER, how to set what the plane shall do about altitude, speed etc! Thanks!!!
Hi Gizfpv, The advantage of the T2 is that it is larger and therefore resists the wind better. The disadvantage (which is no longer a disadvantage once disassembled in its box) is that it is more bulky. Now I don't see myself taking the box for a walk. Being able to carry larger capacity batteries is a positive point, but larger batteries are also heavier! Honestly the T1 VTOL is already very good. Its main limitation is strong wind, but when that is the case, I generally stay at home.
As I mentioned in my video, I did used to have a T1 VTOL. I found it flew 'ok' but not great. That may well have been due to the programming at that time not being so good, but also as you said, because it struggled with the wind more. The T2 is defo more immune to the effects of the wind which is great
I'm actually in the process of converting my T2 VTOL, that I put together using the VTOL kit, from a Speedybee FC running iNav to the Heewing FC running Ardupilot. When it's complete, I will have the T2 PNP, including the awesome storage box, but I will have put it together myself. I'm hoping it is programmed with the same params that the actual PNP comes with. I'm excited to get this conversion completed and get it re-maidened! To be perfectly honest, I kind of wish I had just left my T2 as a normal fixed-wing and waited for the PNP T2 VTOL. The cost to do everything myself was about the same as what the PNP costs not including the hours and hours of work. It is an amazing airplane, though! I hope you enjoy yours!
Well, building is half the fun, so whilst buying the T2 VTOL pnp would have been quicker to get in the air, sure you'll enjoy the process of building your own :p

There's a four pin Dupont connector on the usb cable for programming, I direct soldered the wires to the usb circuit board and used the Dupont connector for crossfire nano hope it works also changed the pin layout

Impressed. In a hobby thats usually hit or miss this looks really good. Personally the vtol is more of a novelty because of where i live but it's pretty cool to watch.
Yeah same, its a novelty really. Although I will admit with the T2 being so big it is a little hard to hand launch, so actually the VTOL function does have its uses lol

I recently converted the T2 to a VTOL using the conversion kit. After the ardupilot FW update to 4.5.7 the parameter Q-ENABLE=0. Before it was definitely set to ‘1’. Can you send me your original parameter file of the T2 VTOL PNP? I would like to compare all values.
Yeah it is pricey, although as I said in the video, when you take into account the build quality, the rapid assembly/disassembly capability and the fact it comes with a carry case, I think it's just about worth that money. You certainly can't get anything similar for cheaper
I thinking about PCB with analoge Vidio input, wich can detecht with KI Opsticals automaticly. For VTOL the PCB could overide the Controlls and can start the inav Landing Process and provent to crash into Trees or building before landing. I know Inav have Landing Settings. But an device wich detect opsicals in the Landing Parth would be Helpfull. Becurse my Flying field is an field next to my home. If i start im scarded the ELRX Reciver die in mid air, and it will return to home in Failsafe get activatet. And RTH+ Landing will fly over my position and will crash into my home while landing process. With such a device could overide the heading, so the landing Process is pointed into the free wide field and not our buildings behind me.
I can tell you now my absolute favourite aircraft of all time is the Heewing T1. It fly's great, very stable, nice and quiet, has great flight time, good quality construction, and crucially its nice and small :)

Those ZMO VTOL's really aren't very good are they. Can almost guarantee you'll have a better time with the T2 VTOL tho :)

VTOL newbie Q: how is yaw controlled in VTOL mode?
@@comsterfpv9668 the motors on the wings are on servos so they can move. Yaw is achieved by adjusting the angle of those motors
