  • Discover some of the butterflies of the UK in this short documentary style video. Join me as I take a walk around Norfolk's largest ancient woodland, foxley wood, and find species such as the silver washed fritillary and white admiral butterfly. I also find common species of butterfly including comma butterfly, red admiral, gatekeeper, speckled wood and meadow brown.
If you would like to find out more about foxley wood, you can do so here: www.norfolkwildlifetrust.org....

    Comma, my favourite butterfly!
Although I love moths too, possibly more than butterflies.
    Beautiful photography mate!

Stunning footage. I've an amature photographer and I do enjoy snapping away on wildlife. Butterflies don't taste their foods by their tongue they taste by their feet.

When you go to Foxley the first turn from the car park is a left and it threw me, because I was concentrating on the environment and not my spatial awareness. The natural route is to turn clockwise from then on and the natural instinct is to try to get back to the car park using that rotational direction. I got lost too.
My best memory of my last visit was when I went off piste accidently and had to push my way through bracken and other vegetation. The butterflies murmurated into the air like a Hollywood fantasy, making me stop from time to time. Foxley wood must be one of the best butterfly sites in the UK.
