ALBERT COLLINS IS SO HUMBLE AND AUTHENTIC. THATS WHAT I LOVE ABOUT HIM. HE JUST PLAYS HIS ASS OFF. ALWAYS PUTS ON A SHOW THATS the real deal..RIP ALBERT...U WERE THE BEST OUT OF ALL OF THEM!!!

Class act right there. This guy was an inspiration when he was up on stage. I've heard nothing but good things about how he was with his fans off stage also.
How true - I was fortunate to meet him after a show around 1984 - he even let me hold his Telecaster.

I thought the same thing while I was listening and scrolling down the comment section and saw your comment! I agree 100 per cent. Getting in the way ,just throwing in fills and being too busy. Im a drummer and the first thing I would do is lay down a good solid groove locked in with the bass and maybe build up to the solo but otherwise just support the soloist or singer.
Is the other guitarist the fall guy? was he paid to suck? or is common talent really that inferior to the grand master? (i don't doubt the latter)
Its what he gets Paid to do, His Job. He maybe lead in his own Band but with Albert he played Rhythmn.

That other guitar player is Derek O’Brian and believe me when I say...he is about as far from suck as you can get. A Blues purist and the house guitarist for years at Antones . One of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet as well. Anybody recognize the organ player? That’s a young Reese Wynans laying it down. SRV would choose him to be the fourth member of Double Trouble.
