  • Jonah Whale - "Can Not Walk Away" - lyric video @jonahwhalerocks - from the seventh Jonah Whale album - “American Made”.
Definitely "American Made", this album is inventive hard hitting rock with cutting edge surprises that will leave you wanting to hear it again. The title cut "American Made" is a high energy modern pop rock song that speaks to today's political angst. Relevant lyrics are firmly delivered by Jonah Whale's commanding voice. Songs like "Run Away", "Dark Side of Love", “Walk on the Water" keep you rocking and all have their own special twists. That said, "American Made" also gives you time to catch your breath and escape a chaotic world with songs like "Rain" and "I Can Fly". Not to be overlooked, “Can Not Walk Away” is a soulful blues song with one of Jonah Whale's best vocal performances.
This album is a winner and delivers creative lyrics, addictive melodies and high energy rock from beginning to end.
Jonah Whale music typically offers strong melodic hooks and powerful imagery, making many of his songs well suited for movie sound tracks. Lyrical subject matter ranges from gentle sensitive ballads about love and romance, to darker characters like Jack the Ripper, the pyromaniac in Match Head and the atheist serial killer on death row in Holyman. Other subjects include the end of the world, Valentines Day, first love, lost love, drug and alcohol addiction, dreams and aspirations, teen angst, personal identity struggles and personal strength.
The first Jonah Whale album, "Dangerous Games", falls squarely into the genre of classic rock. The songs on the Dangerous Games album are reminiscent of the 80's era when super groups like Journey, Foreigner, Queen and Billy Squire ruled radio. Songs like "Mary Goes Round" and "Because I Love You" are pure classic rock. The second album, "Underworld", offers more alternative and progressive rock and explores several interesting characters like the "Boy in a Bottle" living in an asylum who hears voices and sees ghosts, the pyromaniac in "Match Head", and the atheist serial killer on death row in "Holyman". The third album, "Eccentricity", is a collection of wide ranging ballads, featuring a beautiful surrealistic ballad called "Imaginary World", a sensitive acoustic ballad "I Would", as well as several up tempo songs like "Fall on Me", "High" and "Lay a Hand on Me". The fourth album, "Belly of the Beast", starts strong and never lets up. There are no ballads on this album. This is the album that clearly established Jonah Whale's artistic identity.
The fifth album "Mobius" is hard hitting rock. In keeping with previous albums "Mobius" offers strong hooks and powerful melodies, this time delivered with more force. This album features strong grooves and melodies delivering compelling lyrics. "Dance" is a fun radio friendly song that has already been picked up by a number of stations. Crowd favorites - “Hale to the King", "Live For Tomorrow” and “Your Heart You Must Follow”. The sixth album "VI" is a solid rock album with lots of foot stomping grooves. That said, this album also offers safe haven with MOR ballads like “She Moves Like The Wind” and “Do you remember Me”. “My Tattoo”, is a one of a kind blues ballad with skillfully crafted lyrics delivered by one of Jonah Whales most intimate vocal performances.
Jonah Whale music can be heard on SiriusXM, Pandora, and many others and is also available for streaming and download on iTunes and all major music platforms worldwide.
