There are two Patitucci signature models: 1.Yamaha TRB JP1, 34 inch scale, 24 frets and his actual signature on the headstock. 2.The one on this video, the TRBJP2, 35 inch scale, 26 frets and no signature on the headstock but (according to JP) improved in many areas compared to the JP1. It`s 6500 USD on the Yamaha USA website. Yikes.

To me soloing is soloing regardless of the instrument..you play scales, chops, phrases, improvise over different changes and if you make a mistake, it shows...but slapping on bass is like tapping on a guitar. You should use it wisely, moderately and on the right places and not define your whole style around that. Because it`s not a style, it`s a tool among many others that a true bass player should apply.
