It's a bitter sweet joy listening to the music. Brings back certain memories of my teenage years. Especially the time of 1997 when I was 14. That was the time you could see the comet Hale-Bopp in the sky. I played this game with a friend I went to school with. We had no instructions or guide about the game hence it came as a surprise when we thought we had beaten the game but it suddenly turned into the Dark World. We played a lot of games at that time. Zelda, Secret of Mana and the Street Fighter II series were our favorites. These games are adventurous, touching - and from a nostalgic perspective that I have now - touching in a verry personal way . At the beginning of 1998 my friend moved away and we never saw each other again. Now 23 years have past and every now and then I wonder how he did in life, where's he at right now... So every now and then I look up stuff like this video on RUclips and bathe in memories.
7 years later and this masterpiece is still beautiful!
never forget the first time I stepped into the Dark World and heard this. Great rendition, really deep and powerful!
I absolutely love this rendition of this song. You can really hear the solemn nature of the tune. Your personal touch at 2:11 was very good, and finishing up with the Zelda II title was wise. Keep up the great work, Lara.
hehe good work picking that reference up :P Not everyone has played/liked that game, but I kinda liked it
lara6683
well it is awsome, and nice he said: nice touch with link title song
lara6683 I think Zelda II was great, but finding everything out was a pain, and also, Death Mountain.
We meet again, Psynergist! :P
Can we just talk about how pretty that painting is in the background? It... It just fits.
Secret of Mana is one of the prettiest games ever made.
poster.
@@Warpull it’s a painting, regardless of the platform it’s printed on.
Lara is a Pure Musical Genius!
so beautiful. for the first time in a long time i just sat back in my chair, closed my eyes, and absorbed every note. it truly brings back such great memories of playing lttp for hours and hours as a kid. i want to say thank you :)
Right before I read this comment I did just that
...I have a sudden urge to go on an epic quest.
Let's explore an ancient city, like Myth Drannor or some such
...Craig Locklear we can explore the temple of the ancients...
To the grocery shop
I too have an irking
I hope it's not too late. It's dangerous to go alone! Take this. *hands sword*
By far my favorite song from the Zelda series, coming across this video made my day.
You kept the epic feel, but added a sense of beauty to it..amazing!
Spectacular performance!!! Zelda and Castlevania have the best music in video games.
Finally found someone who can play my favorite Zelda theme and make it sound good T_T. She even has a Secret of Mana poster. Hoping she isn’t married yet she can play this at our wedding lol.
beautiful. Her playing has passion and emotion.
Secret of Mana poster. Awesome!
i try to play the piece like this.
its a bit different, and difficult, but im practising
i love this version of this piece.
the best out there.
thank you
Finally my favourite Zelda theme from you :) Awesome. Wish you would make sheets to your versions.
lol coming back to this video more than 7 years later because I'm currently learning this song on piano... totally forgot I commented here before.
This is one of my favorites in "Link to the Past". Thanks for executing the piece so well. I enjoy your videos as always.
1:19 to 1:27 was amazing :')
Best arrangement I've ever heard of this song. I mean, based on what I've heard before, I always assumed that this was one of those great songs that just didn't translate to the piano all that well. But this makes me change my mind completely! Lara includes all the little nuances, and just brought out the feel of the song so perfectly. Can't even explain it. But she nailed it, and now I feel emotionally high. Another masterpiece by Lara!
it's not an easy one to do on piano, due to the pervasive 'military style accompaniment' which sits underneath the more lyrical melody
For having both a Zelda poster, and a picture of the Mana Tree, you are the coolest person on the internet. (Also your playing is legitimately perfect.)
i used to listen to this in 8th grade a lot and it was one of the handful of piano covers that made me decide to take piano in 9th grade, I went on to play for the jazz band in my high school and now am working towards making my own music. thank you for this
I really love this song and you are playing it like an angel. Thank you so much!
Even though it's by ear and it's her version. That's pretty incredible. I like to play Nintendo themes on piano too and this one is very challenging. Dire dire dicks from Mario 64 is my favorite. Try doing the Zelda NES dungeon theme labrynth
This song defines many aspects of my early life and the game I loved most growing up. You hit so many thematic elements that are central to those experiences, and every note was a memory returned to life. I loved this interpretation, and you have a gift for finding the meaning of music. I find that a lot of my friends don't see the wonderful melodies that we grew up with, and I feel they've missed out on something wonderful. But I could show some of my musician friends a video like this and they would see what I mean.
Thank you for translating that.
Thank you for turning one of my favourite video game tunes into perfection. Most other covers lack the dynamics and drama required for Dark world theme to work. This is what it should sound like ingame if Snes had a cd rom.
All of this is bringing my childhood back. Thank you.
Less than a week until A Link Between Worlds...this just makes me even more excited!
excellent arrangement and performance!
As a big time A Link to the Past fan I thank you for this, truly incredible. My favourite Zelda game.
I loved every second of it!
Great work! :D
Great! One of my favorite Zelda theme! A real masterpiece. So much memories of my childhood! You're very talented!
One of my favorites already.
Excellent as always! 🔥🔥🔥
Simply The Best! Lara!
Amazing, no words, thank you for this.
As always, your work is a delight to listen to.
Always loved this song! Awesome job!
This is fantastic! Great job!
Excellent! Goose bumps all the way through!
Sooooo many memories, thank you Lara for this great interpretation! You are as amazing as the memories you bring back are powerful.
Stunning
You gave me chills! That was so good!
I think I've watched this just about every day since you uploaded it :) Your key changes are always so smooth and well-placed and ugh I can't even
thanks for introducing this song to me.it's stunningly magical!
and I love your room posters :)
Absolutely beautiful! This is a fantastic arrangement!
dark world's theme brings me a lot of memories and feelings... its a flawless rendition, i want to thank you for your hard work and passion!
This is simply gorgeous !!!
the endings to your arrangements are all so creative
Although it is extremely hard to pick a favorite of yours, this might be a top contender :) So brilliant and you play it so well!
This song takes me back to some of the best moments I had with my mom, #rip. Thank you.
Way to go Lara! I loved it!
Oh wow, this is really wonderful. I've always loved how powerful the fluid changes from minor to major chords in this piece are, I love how you play the accompaniment in arpeggios in the middle part, and I like the passion you put into the accentuation of the dynamic volume changes. Oh, and extra thumbs up for the transposition. Thank you, Lara!
If you ever get to play this on a massive grand piano, please don't forget to share the experience with us :)
thankyou, this one was a bit trickier than most to play on a piano due to the unrelenting accompaniment rhythms
WOAHH !! Totaly loved it , lara the way you play dark world is just completely amazing . One Love ^^
I love it! So excited for ALBW.
Just Brilliant not only is loveley to see more of you after such a long time, its double epic when you come up with something as bright as this! TuT
This is beautiful. I love the piano so much. Great work!
Mighty refreshing performance, exquisite!
Very well done... easily one of my favourite pieces of video game music
and you did it wonderfully
This is an amazing song. I wish the ending was longer. I love how you switch it up near the end, and make it even more epic. Just makes me wish the song was twice as long.
Beautifully done. Thank you!
Fantastic, absolutely fantastic! You got it right! Not a single orchestral version of this song this right on the money. AND you have a poster of Secret of Mana on your wall! This is dark world music from the brightest side!
Your piano playing is sooooo enjoyable to my ears.
Great work! Jelly of those skills; plus the awesome poster to your right, both great games.
Why does this not have more views? One of the best tracks out of all the Zelda games...and she plays it perfectly!
Thank you once again for your superb talent lara.. it lets Me know that there are still some things that are still right in this world.
OMG OMG! That Secret of Mana poster! I NEED THAT POSTER! that reminds me, do a seiken densetsu II (secret of mana for SNES) theme, that would be great. Nice song, as always.
The end!!! OMG you are AMAZING!!
Alle Lieder die du spielst hören sich wunderschön an :3
That was so incredibly done, it sounded fantastic. So much envy. My god I wish I could play like that. Sadly i have no musical skill at all. All I need to do is look at an instrument for it to spontaniously combust.
Fantastic arrangement. Great work
Amazing version of such an amazing theme.
Beautifully played! I liked the powerful bass, really invgorates the piece. This has got to be one of my favorite pieces of music from one of my favorite games.
Awesome work as always. Keep it up Lara :)

Great song. Great performance! And I just LOOOOOVE your huge Mana poster! Som is my fav. game of all time! Thx for the music!
The Dark World theme is one of my favorite video game music, only topped by the Morgue theme from Shadowrun (snes).
I loved your version of it. Very well done! Thank you!
This is the BEST rendition I have heard on piano! I can play this as well, but not THIS good. Keep it up!
Beautiful... Loved the posters of Legend of Zelda and Secret of Mana... Very talented, my congratulations. :)
This is amazing. Bravo.
This is awesome!!
Love that Secret of Mana poster and great job on the Dark World Theme! A Link to the Past will always be one of my favorite Zelda games! Playing this game as a little child for the SNES has always stuck with me.
The piano playing is beautiful and the recording environment is also beautiful =3
This is one of my favorite songs in TLoZ, and your piece made me even love it more!
loving this
Amazing job!!! You’re very skilled.
This is beautiful!
Wow! Just amazing!
And the Secret of Mana Poster is very nice, too^^.
Love this so much
Omg you have everything, haven't you? I was just searching if you had this song and... YES
Very groovy, funky, retro, nice, super and nostalgic.
