Hey wanted to get this game wondering if you can play it physically like the sports version like actually swinging the controller? Or is it just using the buttons?
Had this a couple of days, love it, yes there are a few glitches, BUT, use it is annoying to have to be online to play the career mode. Not a problem as I’m at home but when I’m away travelling this will be a major pain and I guess a deal breaker for some. There have been complaints about the lack of a crowd, I actually think it makes it very COVID relevant and find it really chilled out. The graphic are not a noticeable poor as some have said, in fact I would go so far as to say on the handheld screen they look pretty gorgeous in my opinion. Overall a worth while addition to my games library.
Played you at the weekend on this and got a bit of a hiding (3 and 2) , very tough challenge online with little room for error , really enjoying that side of it though.
Awesome game I love playing this on the Switch. BUT, now I get an "unexpected" error when trying to load the next tournament on career mode. Any suggestions???
Who cares about crowd noice! The graphics is serviceable and more importantly the gameplay is really good. The only issue I have so far is not being able to calibrate the analog stick before the tutorial.
I've had no crashes yet at all handheld or docked which is good. Someone else said (on another vid) its super laggy and the FPS is in the toilet, which also absolutely isnt true. In fact aside the graphical downgrade, its pretty comparable to the PC version running on a gaming PC!
Hi I just wanted to know if you can play carrer mode on the disk version on the Nintendo switch as I am looking to buy the game card for my switch please can you let me know if you can play the carrer mode on the Nintendo switch and do you have to be signed in to your wifi to proceed with the carrer mode
I'm enjoying it immensely, despite the graphics downgrade. The always online requirement during career mode is a bit of a pain for out and about portable gaming though.
@@danceswithsheep3058 I'd never thought about that... I do have Nintendo Online but I don't know if its a requirement or not. I imagine its just pinging back to 2Ks server as some sort of anti-cheat mechanism but I'm not sure. I do know that I was playing docked at home and my wifi went down and the game kicked me out of career mode. It also won't allow you to start a career mode game if airplane mode is on. You CAN play local non-career mode games in airplane mode.
You wont need NSO, but yea you have to be online for the PGA Tour mode. You can even select an 'offline' mode from the main menu - but it will only allow you to play 'Quick Matches' if so.
@@SwitchedOn Well, that's not so bad but I resent single player games that force me online to play, especially as that goes against the ethos of the, switch as a portable game system. I think I shall respect 2ks decision by not giving them my money.
I have been really getting into this game the last few months, but I still cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to chip and approach near the green properly. I always overshoot the target. My irons from further way are fine, but when I'm hitting out of bunkers or are generally right next to the green, I always overshoot the pin. Any thoughts?
EA Sports releases of Tiger Woods and Rory Mcilroy that I’ve played on various play station versions have been really enjoyable. Seems a shame the crowd are missing on the switch. One question, which may be a deciding factor, relates to spin control. On the other golf simulations I’ve played, you can control the spin mid flight of the ball by tapping buttons and directing it. Is this not a feature on this game? I’ve watched a couple of game play videos, but can’t fathom how to do it in this game
You can do that with 2 different Switch accounts - but you can also set up 3 other 'MyPlayer' "guests" - who you can change some details but not the name
@@SwitchedOn Ok thanks...That's straight Dump...I will have to pass, until they come to there scenes...That's part of the joy of playing golf games...Playing as some your favorite Pro Players...
Can you get to a point where you have mastered the swing on the higher difficulties? I've seen lots of videos and each player seems to spray it all over the place.. Cheers
Even if you could, there's still a lot of challenges you can bring in - from AI skill level, to worsening course conditions etc. Then even if you exhaust that, there is the multiplayer which should be a real challenge!
It was at launch - but I *think* they patched it... I know there are some modes you can play offline, but possibly the career mode still needs a connection.
SwitchedOn Yeah, here’s hoping WWE Battlegrounds is ported well or that Retromania Wrestling finally releases. It does make me wonder, however, would having an option to remove the crowd have helped the frame rate of WWE 2K18? Covid-19 arena style?
Nope wouldn't say laggy at all - they take slightly longer to load/respond than on PC, but if I hadn't had PC to compare too, I wouldn't have thought anything of it.
I'm liking this game so far. Though there are a few stutters. And I had an issue with the game asking for consent every time I booted it up, which also prevented me from connecting to my 2k games account. Turns out you have to put a check in the check box for Date of Birth, otherwise it won't work properly. Do you know how to play other people's courses?
I've been craving a decent switch golf game for years and was hoping this was a good one but yeah, have to say after watching a couple of videos on it I'll sadly give it a miss. No crowds/noise is a big problem especially in the later tournaments and it will make the game feel soulless to me. also the way the shadows are drawn would really get on my nerves. Maybe these things will be patched down the line but for now, £50? nope, certainly not.
I would think it HAS to be a bug caused by removing the crowd graphics from the game. As I said in the vid, I have gone back to 2K and asked them to clarify, so as soon as I know, I'll update with a vid! Ironically, its actually more realistic in the current world climate than having cheering crowds isnt it!!!!?
@@SwitchedOn I seem to recall EAs Rory Mcilroy game was pulled from the console eshops as the licence expired and that HB Studios sort of swooped in and picked up the PGA licence for their Golf Club 2019 game (as in the game was announced and the PGA licence was announced a bit later - they just licenced some of the courses, not the players) and then, at the last minute, 2K then took over as publisher (like, days before the game was released back in Aug 2018)... presumably to bolster their sports offerings.
Yea - quite surprised it's not been more "2k'd" this time round, both in a positive and negative way. Not many microtransactions, but also not the sort of very top draw presentation you see in NBA 2K which is just out of this world compared to other sports sims
@@McD5791 With WWE in trouble after the botched last release and forum commentators hating NBA micro transactions now being an annual festival in September, I wonder if 2K are looking to broaden their sports offerings to spread the risk as it were, so a Hockey game is possible... or maybe a baseball or tennis revival (TOPSPIN!).

So happy to have some decent golf on switch! probably will wait for some patches and a sale but this looks promising!
Is the game possible play with joy-con to simulate actual golf swing?

nope...no joy-con on the switch unfortunately

Thanks for that always online note. Just kept me from buying it.
Why there are not public, is not possible in nintendo switch version?
Just got this game a week ago, haven’t opened yet but am looking forward to playing it, Best part it was only $15 new
I bought it for PS4 to play when I’m at home and the switch for when I’m out of town visiting family or such.
Good job

Managed to pick up a copy new, from Amazon for £10. Been after this for a while , so really looking forward to getting into this.

I’ve got this game on preorder, but it’s not out until next month the physical version.
Finally! A non indie, standard golf game! It looks really good and the menu selection looks slick. Other reviewer's have mentioned crashes & glitches?

I've had one glitch where the green wouldn't load. I fixed that by viewing a replay.
What about motion controls like the wii?
No, no motion controls
Have they done any updates ?

The lack of fans and atmosphere is a real problem for me,fifa seem to do it fine.ive pre ordered the physical and a little worried.
I'll stop short of saying its worth $60 but for $30, hell yes!
Will there be fans there?
The coins are pretty generous on my PS4 version. I already bought my favorite clothes after four full rounds.
A fantastic game, very fun on my switch lite, the gameplay is awesome
Does this game track your course records, best round etc on each course?
Yea does
Hello are there any online leaderboards for each course or similar challenges /rankings please? Thanks
