Thank you so much for a great lens comparison video I was undecided which lens to go for, now I have decided to go for the 24-104 f4 it will suit my needs perfectly and approximately £900 cheaper !
It’s kind of neat getting into the older DSLR‘s for pennies on the dollar of what they used to go for. And bonus on the lenses are you can still use them on the newer RF mount.
The landscape shots look amazing! The OG keeps on trucking, doesn't it? P.S. Thus video popped up in my notifications about 4 hours after posted. Hopefully you can use this information to further your statistics on channel growth. Keep up the amazing work!
Thank you for the comparison, the budget lens choice is overwhelming. I was in CS back in the 70’s still looks beautiful. When Hibberts dept store was a department store.
CS has certainly grown a bunch since then. I moved here first in 1994 and the change is dramatic from then. The 28-135 IS USM seems to be a great bargain at less then half the price of this lens. I have two of them because one came with a camera I bought for no extra money, and they both are really good. It’s just that the aperture stops down very quickly.
Hello from Spain. My current equipment is, and will continue to be for quite some time, a 6d with the 24-105 f4 L IS and a 50mm f1.8 stm. I don't have any other equipment and I don't need any more. Before I had (from 2009 to 2020) a canon 5d (the so-called 5d "classic") and later I upgraded this camera to the 6d and kept the 24-105. Unless you need a telephoto lens or take action photos, I don't think an amateur needs more equipment than this, which is currently available at a ridiculous price. I have even taken sports photography photos of my children throughout this year using this equipment, with very good results. It is more complicated to take photos like this with the 6d than if you had a tracking focus, but for home and family photography it is more than enough.
I would say that this combination of the 6D and the 24-105 could be had for about $650, but the camera prices I see have gone up by 100 or more. It is still a good value though. My biggest complaint is the lack of a flippy screen like my 80D has.

Never hurts to save some money when you can, thank you for watching.
It's a great lens, plenty sharp and is so incredibly versatile. If I can take only one lens on an outdoor hike etc it would be the one
And this one, the original version, is smaller and lighter than the mark II model.
Finally, L glass is becoming affordable on the used market. I never thought this day would come.

@rgophoto I need five more year before I can afford a camera with an rf mount, but I can hoard some L lenses while doing so.
@@Sylykyn I have noticed some EF lenses and cameras have crept up a little in price for some reason.

I appreciate the kind words, The OG holds up against an L lens, kind of crazy.
