    Join Chris Mallard, The Amazing Super Chris, on The Daily Atheist Morning Show as we dive headfirst into the so-called "War on Christmas." With wit and sharp critique, this episode unpacks the myths and contradictions surrounding Christmas, its origins, and the stories Christians hold sacred. From historical claims about Jesus to modern debates over "Merry Christmas" vs. "Happy Holidays," Chris delivers a humorous yet thoughtful exploration of what the holiday season truly represents.
    This video uncovers the lesser-known narratives behind Christmas, including its pagan roots, the evolution of traditions, and the bizarre claims made by religious institutions, like the multiple churches asserting ownership of baby Jesus's foreskin. With an atheist's lens, Chris explores Occam's Razor to question the plausibility of virgin birth stories and the divine conception myth, highlighting the often-overlooked human and cultural elements behind these tales.
    Whether you’re a skeptic questioning the validity of faith-based holidays or a curious Christian intrigued by the history of your traditions, this video will make you think twice about the holiday season. Let’s explore the fear doctrine, divine myths, and the ever-entertaining "War on Christmas."
    Keywords: War on Christmas, atheist perspective, pagan roots of Christmas, origins of Christmas, virgin birth myth, divine myths, skepticism, atheist Christmas, Happy Holidays debate, Chris Mallard, Daily Atheist Morning Show.

    Pretty much every atheist I know celebrates Christmas. The only people who I have met who are dead against Christmas and all it stands for are members of fundamentalist Christian sects. Up to relatively recently it was the case that most Protestants shunned the celebration of ChristMASS, as a Roman Catholic affectation. The celebration of Christmas was banned in England by Oliver Cromwell after the Protestant led revolution against the King. The Pilgrims who founded the North American colonies were Puritans didn't celebrate it for the same reasons. The war on Christmas is as American as apple pie.

    • @dwilliams6346
      @dwilliams6346 Месяц назад

      Posting again because the wet rags refuse to allow free speech. Oh the irony.
      I am dead against Christmas and all it stands for and I am totally detached from any religion, belief system or other. I never from upon anyone celebrating it because people are free to do as they wish.
      However even those like Atheists still look upon anyone who doesn't celebrate Xmas as 'odd', a tremendous irony and also, hypocrisy considering they are non-religious yet never celebrate Dewali or any other religious tradition...only the Christian one. So they are formed and bred as Christians which, wormed deep in into their brain and psyche like a parasite, that they are unable to control nor understand how the triggers influence them and their placebo effect excitement and joy erupt when their early indoctrinated state rises up on the adult brain. Just like the god-delusion, it is an uncontrollable trigger which sits deep in the temporal lobe and cerebral cortex which with the subtlest of effort, can be summoned to the surface with words, sounds, visual stimuli which then take full control of feelings and emotions, and suddenly spark a delusional-induced euphoric state which drains away once the stimuli disappears.
      It is for this reason why Atheists are still stuck in their belief systems. Reason being, when everything is brought under the microscope and assessed truthfully, anyone who declares themselves non-religious who celebrates a religious tradition is a watered-down Theist by default, because to participate in the celebration of everything the Theist worships is wilful acceptance of it, and thus, a form of practising. Xmas, Easter, Good Friday, Advent......all of these are a year participation of religious traditions......and they are done every year, for life.
      Like every Theist, the atheist who celebrates Xmas was inducted against their will into the beliefs of their parents/elders, and embedded itself in the same way as a god belief, and now come up with pretentious excuses to explain that they need to celebrate it. It has nothing to do with wanting to, the truth is they need to. It is a deeply indoctrinated behaviour and despite being Atheist they employ cognitive dissonance to circumvent their hypocrisy and double standards. For anyone who claims to be anti-god, they must all be anti-faith and removed from everything and everything associated with it.
      So, as a conclusion, ANY Atheist who says they're an Atheist but still celebrates all the major god-venerating traditions through the year, every year, is a pseudo-Atheist and a practising liar and a hypocrite. Any foolish attempt to avoid that fact to absolve themselves is a pointless exercise.....because being without god and religion but still wanting to adopt religious traditions means they should have no favouritism to one religious tradition or the other from any one of hundreds of god faiths, yet, the Atheist of western countries always adopts Christian ones. Why? Because that was the one a Christian country with a Christian society, Christian schools and Christian influenced parents indoctrinated them with, and yet, they cannot see the discrepancy, and thus remain blind to how stupid this is!
      When I separated from all Christian traditions, I fully separated. No Xmas, no Easter, No religious bank holidays, nothing.
      The thing is, people are so deep in the dark about what Christmas really is, they still believe it's about paganism etc yet do not understand the degenerative ancient symbolic nature of it and why the Christian cult religion named it as such and practise it. Everything goes back to old symbolisms and numerical values which are given to words which hold definitions of degenerative values. These values hold symbolisms which go back hundred's of thousands of years and in todays linguistics are called 'Anti-logos'. Those symbols are etched all over the religion and everything associated with, which influence Human beings in very degenerative ways and when we look at the whole charade around Xmas, it is primarily about the worshipping of lies, false gods, cult practises, greed & avarice inducing materialism, false-humanitarianism and the colossal and unconscionable exploitation of every Human Being, including the warping of the minds of children to adopt these traditions without reason which continues to teach them to become addicted to religious beliefs, worldly beliefs and materialism, to fill the large coffers of the church and corporatocracy.

    I simply say merry christmas and mean it. I truly wish joy to all people, regardless of faith or non faith. What people believe is their business, not mine, nor is it mine to "war" on anyone's holiday. We have enough division in the world. Many people use this time to reach out to do good whether or not they do so during the rest of the year. Why not outdo your supposed opposition and be what you believe to be a better person. Lead by example if you feel people of whatever faith have the wrong message? Rise above. BE the light you want to see in the world, that is if you want light in the world. Offer light, but maybe not with not with the stick of sarcasm or derision. Just a thought.

    The problem is, that Theist or Atheist, both belong in the same camp yet fight each other as though one is the nemesis of the other. Yet, both are belief belief systems.
    The Theist is a believer of a 100% unaccountable god with an equally unaccountable belief system built upon stolen teachings fabricated and adulterated beyond recognition to prop it up, just as the people who taught them over the last 10'000 years have equally been ripped from their true names, life and purpose to be made into supernatural deities in which to worship.
    But then there is the Atheist, a term given to the 'non-believer' by Theists and the religions themselves, and happily used by the demographic of anti-god as their name tag. However, they too have a belief, it is the belief of there not being a god which they cannot prove, just as the believer in god cannot prove it exists. Whilst the Atheist adopts a much more logical line of thought, if he/she comes up against a Theist with a good argument, the Atheist quickly loses the fundamental method to prove god does not exist and thus gets confused and in some cases crumbles and becomes a believer. This stance is what flaws the Atheist because he relies too much of worldly beliefs rather than universal truths, and because he is reliant on whatever his worldly beliefs relay to him via speculation and science, he is ultimately at its mercy, especially when science releases theory as truth and later realise that theory was false so have to change their stance. This is the exact same moving of goalposts the Theist has to adopt when their holy book is proven to be the work of primitive ideas based on idiotic interpretations, old god belief, superstition and just plain old stupidity....oh and a giant mountainous pile of blasphemous horseshit against the truth.
    So each club, have a very short straw and when their ideas run aground, they both respawn back to the start and go again, cancelling each other out because they do not and cannot think by the principles of reality itself, they cannot learn from reality, they cannot go any further than what they are told to accept is the formula for truth and reality, and in that sense both are locked within the confines of basic human belief, unable to forge a single original thought of their own and certainly cannot see beyond a 5 sense reality. It is for this reason that even the so-called high functioning intellectual is as dumb as beanstraw when it comes to true intelligence, because he/she is formed purely by the process of memorised intellect, filling their heads with superfluous garbage to provide the perception of grand intelligence but when it comes to self-discernible deep consciousness intelligence they cannot step foot outside of their superficial status and this is protected at all costs by a lowly intelligent behaviour symbol of an imbecile with a belief who shall not be taught anything by someone deemed lower in status, or a non-believer, or a non-player. That haughty, grandiose pomposity is what leads millions astray in no different way than a priest, monk, imam or rabbi......because they only regurgitate what their elders forced into them, and not one part of their beliefs were created by their own volition, and thus each believer is an inorganic product of their parents or guardians beliefs.
    And this is why Christmas, is part and parcel of the same structure of how a non-believer can still celebrate a cult ritual tradition, because their own parents/guardians forced their own ways onto the child, whereas if the child was allowed to just grow as nature intended, these traditions would've died out a very long time ago. So despite anyone saying I'm an Atheist or Theist, they are not only a falsified version of themselves created by their elders that shifts them into a belief system they have to live by through a societal induced emotional blackmail, but pathological liars to the Nth degree because they invent reasons as to why they celebrate it whilst not having a genuine legitimate purpose, other than their deep rooted worldly beliefs of materialism, capitalism and populism. Everything the atheist does for Xmas as non-believers is a delusion, and everything the believer does for Christmas is a god delusion.
    The fact is, that within Christianity, they falsified the real man of that time, whose name was Jmmanuel, and his mother Maria was not a virgin at all but had already given birth to children. And, she was not impregnated by god. Jmmanuel, like Henoch, Elia, Jeremia, Isaiah, Muhammad and BEAM were born of natural conception. Jmmanuel did not die on a cross, despite being crucified (not on an upright cross but on an upside down Y because they crucified people of that time head down feet up based on the ancient death rune 'Tode' which has since become the symbol for peace, when it is in fact the symbol for death and destruction) because his 12 male followers and 17 female followers, his mother and friends from India dug a second tunnel into the tomb where he was placed after lacing himself into a coma, and for 3 days everyone nursed Jmmanuel's wounds and when well again they walked him out of the secret tunnel and escaped and travelled to Damascus where he encountered the traitor Saul Paul.
    Jmmanuel, like all of the heralds over the last 10'000 years were human like you and I, only born from a very different bloodline from very ancient human race who each came with a mission to return the Laws and Recommendations of Creation, which ALL the prophets taught the same, to reverse what ancient races related to them did to enslave mankind with evil cult religions, false gods and falsified writings, but over the ages groups stole each of the heralds teachings and falsified them and turned them into cult religions, the 3 major ones still in existence being Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
    The truth is out there, you just have to wade through the copious amounts of bullshit to find it! You may manage it in this lifetime, the net or the one after or the one after that, but every time you can back as a new personality the past life will be gone and you begin anew, so whatever cult religion or a worldly belief does it has no power over your true path to truth, and you will find your way to it eventually.

    Using Occam’s Razor? - suggesting that it’s more reasonable to assume Mary “fooled around” rather than God providing a virgin birth- however, the key point to consider is that Occam’s Razor isn’t necessarily about which explanation is the simplest in terms of human experience, but rather which explanation makes the fewest assumptions while accounting for the data.
    Occam’s Razor and Assumptions: The “simpler” explanation of Mary having had an affair might seem more straightforward, but it assumes a significant level of dishonesty, misrepresentation, and a complete lack of divine involvement. Occam’s Razor would actually argue against such assumptions, as it introduces a complex web of deceit and overlooked moral implications. The explanation of a virgin birth, while extraordinary, assumes a divine context that, within the framework of faith, is coherent with the teachings of scripture.
    If one believes in God of the Bible - the simpler explanation is a “virgin birth”.

      @jaymauro4288
      That is a true quote, but perhaps some context is needed:
      The quote attributed to John Adams-“This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it”-comes from a letter Adams wrote to Thomas Jefferson on April 19, 1817. However, it is often taken out of context and misinterpreted.
      In the full context of the letter, Adams was not condemning all religion. Rather, he was criticizing the abuses of organized religion and its tendency to create conflict and division throughout history. Here’s the relevant portion:
      “Twenty times in the course of my late reading, have I been on the point of breaking out, ‘This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it!!!’ But in this exclamation I should have been as fanatical as [those religious zealots]… Without religion, this world would be something not fit to be mentioned in polite company, I mean hell.”

    • @TheDAMShow
      @TheDAMShow  Месяц назад +2

      Wait wait...! Lying about having an affair is NOT as significant level of dishonesty and misrepresentation as claiming divine involvement? In this case, both. Yes, they lied about having an affair, THEN claimed divine involvement to avoid punishment. MUCH more reasonable an answer than the all powerful deity of the universe impregnated her so he could let people sacrifice that child to HIM later.
      A person believing in the bible does not make lies fact and fantasy reality, no matter how much you Christians would like to think it does.

-- A quote from Founding Father John Adams

    • @JohnAdams-zh4tz
      @JohnAdams-zh4tz Месяц назад

      @jaymauro4288
      This quote is inaccurate. Liberal science is a phrase not in use in Adams’ time. Citing and correct quote follows:
      The quote “God is an essence we know nothing of” comes from John Adams in a letter to Thomas Jefferson dated March 14, 1816. In this letter, Adams reflects on the limitations of human understanding when it comes to comprehending God’s nature.
      Here’s the full context:
      “ God is an essence we know nothing of. Until this awful blasphemy [of claiming to fully know God] is got rid of, we shall never have a sound theology. God is, and there ends all our knowledge of Him.”
      Adams, like many intellectuals of his time, wrestled with questions of religion, theology, and philosophy. While he was a Christian, he often expressed skepticism toward human-made doctrines and church authorities, preferring a more rational and personal approach to faith. His views reflect both a deep reverence for God and a recognition of the limits of human understanding.
