Im a bonsai enthusiast and i found one in April at an Ace hardware here in Northern Ca. (Redding). It was maybe two feet tall but i could tell it was old. The trunk is about 2 1/2 inches in diamenter! It was sevearly root bound so when i chopped off 2/3rds of the rootball off and put it in a big big planter, its grown 4 ft to this day! Its a remarkably strong tree and smells beautifully. I even got a few stalks of the flowers and those are striking as well. Im in love with mine and i cant wait to propagate amd spread these around my town. I love how its so great for the bees.
The tree is growing out and rooting itself into its traing pot the rest of the growing season, but come winter when the tree goes dormant, there will be hard pruning. The following spring will primarily focus on encouraging growth that will later portray the tree as old and strong. Ie tapered branches and leaf size reduction. Bonsai are never finished, only aging gracefully.
Hopefully it is just transplant shock. Check how deep it is planted and make sure it's not too shallow there the tops of the roots are exposed or that it isn't planted too deep.
@@gardenwiseadventures thanks, think I got the depth ok, it's planted just above ground level just a very top is showing, also cut through the soil to try to loosen the dirt up it was so packed hard, it was also only a quarter pot so was thinking maybe I should put it in a gallon pot instead of the ground not sure if that would help
I have not heard that. I just heard that it regulate female hormones like Progesterone, and helps with PMS symptoms. I have not used it, so I can't say it works from experience.
I think I will go have a wonderful gardening adventure...Thanks!
😁
I am growing one in the Mojave Desert with no problem. I love the blue flowers and insects that visit. I plan on adding another one. Great tree.
That's great to know they can grow in the desert. The more I learn about these trees, the more I love them!
I have one right now that I discovered in France it's beautiful✨Thanks for your video.
Thank you for watching!

Did you bonsai it? I don't know a lot about bonsai, but if it worked as a bonsai, it would be beautiful! I also love the way they smell!

I'm from Morocco.
Can some one send me seeds of Vitex Agnus Castus?
They look a lot like buddleja right?
Kind of, but not really. The form if the plant is more like a multi trunk tree. The flowers are close though.
Rest In Peace, Chaste tree. :(
How close can I plant it to the house?
You can plant it as close as 6 feet.
@@gardenwiseadventures thank you 💐💐
Hello...I´ve heard that the vitex agnus castus reduces the libido, do you know if this is real? is this tested?
I have not heard that. I just heard that it regulate female hormones like Progesterone, and helps with PMS symptoms. I have not used it, so I can't say it works from experience.
