Last summer we chopped down about 11 conifers and replaced the fence along one side creating 2 new borders - the lawn was decimated in one corner but I hoed raked and reseeded it - it came back lovely and lush within about 2 weeks - hope yours recovers too 🌿 well done for winning the propagator 👍 I also entered 😀 it's been gorgeous up here for the last few days - cloudy again today tho 🌥️ I also had gallstones the pain was agony I had gall bladder removed 18 months ago 🤕😷 so glad no more pain 🙄 love from Whitby 🌼

My Iris's just finally started blooming. Yesterday (5-13) the first flower bloomed and this morning (5-14) 5 more had bloomed and I have probably about 10 more that will bloom soon. I have about 30 Iris's altogether. All purple so far. I know I have at least one white one somewhere but just have to wait to see which pot I had put it in. I absolutely love seeing the bloom stalks or buds show up and waiting to see the beautiful flowers when they finally bloom. I have quite a few new flowers this year so I'm very excited to see what colors I get because I've already forgotten what color a lot of them are supposed to be. I love not knowing what colors I will have though. I mix all the same flower seed that I've gotten in multiple colors so I can be surprised and even more excited to see them when they bloom. Your garden is beautiful. A teenage family member of mine passed away I think 2 years ago and they gave out Forget Me Not seeds at the funeral. I think of her every time I see them. It's a beautiful way to remember them. My Forget Me Nots flowered same season as planting. I love your pink flowery dress!

I love having surprise flowers - especially as the poppy didn’t bloom last year, it’s so fun seeing what comes up! I think I’ll sprinkle the forget me nots around - they are very sweet flowers 🧡

If that is a California lilac by the bird bath they can get absolutely huge but bees love them. Backyard is beautiful and so relaxing too I bet. Our yard is full of moss we gave up trying to control it. We are sadly yes sadly getting too much sun we are desperate for rain. Hope you both have a fan week and you feel better Emma, Ali 🌞🇨🇦

Haha yes it is! It was a case of ‘that looks nice’ at the garden centre, and not thinking about when it grew 😂 thank you!!! 🧡

I grill my sweet corn while it's still in the husks. Just add butter, salt and pepper. It's wonderful. My favorite way to have sweet corn.

Oooo delicious! Hopefully we’ll have some home grown corn this year too!!

@@HouseOfTedYT Remove the silks, of course. The burned husks gives the sweetcorn a smokey flavor. It's really good.

Bless you Emma, I’ve had gallstones and can totally relate to how you’re feeling. Blimmin’ painful! My gallbladder is long gone now, and I couldn’t be happier. Hope you get it sorted soon x

It's been raining so much here in the mid-atlantic of the US that I don't have to water my plants. I don't know what worse, your health care system where you have to wait a year for an appointment, or ours where I have to go for "wellness" visits when there's nothing wrong with me (but they still get paid because it's all about the money), but I can go to the doctor almost immediately whenever I need. Sounds like neither of us can win. I feel bad for you in pain, and I do hope for your sake you can get care very soon. Those poached egg flowers look a lot more like fried egg flowers to me.

I was actually thankful for the rain the other day after a week of hot days! It’s funny how it turns. Yes I guess you can’t win with healthcare either way - at least it’s free 😂 lol yes they do, either way the funny names get me every time 🍳

Hi you two, sorry to hear you suffer with gall stones Emma. My mother in law suffered with them, she collected all the stones and put them in a glass container for everyone to see. How delightful. 🤣 Just saying. Watch out for the slugs and snails near your Hostas. I put a lot of grit around mine. Love your vlogs you always make me smile

I was supposed to have gallstones - and in agony a lot - I found drinking milk helped. Eventually had the cholecystectomy and they took the gallbladder out. Said there were no gallstones?????
    - milk helped a lot.❤

Hostas are the ONLY plants I've given up on. Total slugfest. They always looked really manky so -> Compost!😂😂 nowadays I kill slugs with Nemaslug : nematodes - biological not chemical. Still not growing hostas though!😂😂

    • @HouseOfTedYT
      @HouseOfTedYT  2 месяца назад

I did resort to nematodes at home because it was just slug city! The hostas appear to be surging at the moment - time will tell 😂🧡

I had kidney stones around your age... probably not as bad as your gall stones... but a nuisance none the less, hopefully you can get it sorted soon.
The man, the legend, the myth... Mr Dowding, I'm sure said that rust isn't a big issue... you can indeed just cut it off or just leave it (he may have been talking only about mild rust though... I can't quite remember so please do seek better/more accurate advice than this weird guy who keeps commenting on your videos ;) ).
I'm not too fancy with my BBQ... a burger with egg, bacon and possibly pineapple rings (all cooked on the BBQ) can be quite nice.
