    Gandalf tricks Bilball Baggins into hosting a party for Thorin Oakenshield and his band of twelve dwarves (Dwalin, Balin, Kili, Fili, Dori, Nori, Ori, Oin, Gloin, Bifur, Bofur, and Bombur), who go over plans reclaiming their ancient home, Lonely Mountain, and its vast treasure from the dragon Smaug. Gandalf unveils Thrór's map showing a secret door into the Mountain and proposes that the dumbfounded Bilbo serve as the expedition's "burglar". The dwarves ridicule the idea, but Bilbo, indignant, joins despite himself.
    The group travels into the wild. Gandalf saves the company from trolls and leads them to Rivendell, where Elrond reveals more secrets from the map. When they attempt to cross the Misty Mountains, they are caught by goblins and driven deep underground. Although Gandalf rescues them, Bilbo gets separated from the others as they flee the goblins. Lost in the goblin tunnels, he stumbles across a mysterious ring and then encounters Gollum, who engages him in a game, each posing a riddle until one of them cannot solve it. If Bilbo wins, Gollum will show him the way out of the tunnels, but if he fails, his life will be forfeit. With the help of the ring, which confers invisibility, Bilbo escapes and rejoins the dwarves, improving his reputation with them. The goblins and Wargs give chase, but the company are saved by eagles. They rest in the house of Beorn.
    The company enters the dark forest of Mirkwood without Gandalf, who has other responsibilities. In Mirkwood, Bilbo first saves the dwarves from giant spiders and then from the dungeons of the Wood-elves. Nearing the Lonely Mountain, the travellers are welcomed by the human inhabitants of Lake-town, who hope the dwarves will fulfil prophecies of Smaug's demise. The expedition reaches the mountain and finds the secret door. The dwarves send a reluctant Bilbo inside to scout the dragon's lair. He steals a great cup and, while conversing with Smaug, spots a gap in the ancient dragon's armour. The enraged dragon, deducing that Lake-town has aided the intruders, flies off to destroy the town. A thrush overhears Bilbo's report of Smaug's vulnerability and tells Lake-town resident Bard. Smaug wreaks havoc on the town, until Bard shoots an arrow of power into the chink in Smaug's armour, killing the dragon.
    When the dwarves take possession of the mountain, Bilbo finds the Arkenstone, the most-treasured heirloom of Thorin's family, and hides it away. The Wood-elves and Lake-men request compensation for Lake-town's destruction and settlement of old claims on the treasure. When Thorin refuses to give them anything, they besiege the mountain. However, Thorin manages to send a message to his kinfolk in the Iron Hills and reinforces his position. Bilbo slips out and gives the Arkenstone to the besiegers, hoping to head off a war. When they offer the jewel to Thorin in exchange for treasure, Bilbo reveals how they obtained it. Thorin, furious at what he sees as betrayal, banishes Bilbo, and battle seems inevitable when Dáin Ironfoot, Thorin's second cousin, arrives with an army of dwarf warriors.
    Gandalf reappears to warn all of an approaching army of goblins and Wargs. The dwarves, men and elves band together, but only with the timely arrival of the eagles and Beorn do they win the climactic Battle of Five Armies. Thorin is fatally wounded and reconciles with Bilbo before he dies.
    Bilbo accepts only a small portion of his share of the treasure, having no want or need for more, but still returns home a very wealthy hobbit roughly a year and a month after he first left. Years later, he writes the story of his adventures.

    How long can you power your AC with the ecoflow? #balls

    • @JonDZ_Adventuring
      @JonDZ_Adventuring  Год назад

      So, when I initially started running the AC, this was high humidity 75F close to midnight, the power draw was about 450-550 watts. The temperature stayed consistent all the way until the morning (it was still 75F at 6am), and at around 3AM the power draw was only 40 watts. I had the AC powered by the Delta 2 Max but through A/C110 *not the X150 cable, which is supposed to be 30% more efficient. If you watch the video, at around the 6am mark, the power station says it’ll run for another 19 hours or so, but that’s with everything already cooled down and no radiant heat from the sun. My 2048 WH power station went from 98% down to around 45%, so the wave 2 battery pack wouldn’t last long enough, I don’t recommend it because it’s made up of CFM, not LFP like the 2nd Gen eco flow power stations. A 1048 WH Delta 2 would barely cut it. Honestly, I think the 2048WH Delta 2 Max is the power station for overlanders, and I think it might be able to completely replace chemical fuels like propane and diesel. I’ll give it a test this winter, but I think the wave 2 might be able to keep my RTT heated throughout the night.

    You really should be aired down, youre payload is 1400 lbs, you claim to be only 1000lbs hopefully that includes your weight and the wifes, so 36 is the MAX you should have in those, not just on the highway but in general. the psi on your door is factoring in your max payload should you exceed that you DO NOT increase tire psi to compensate. Should you be over that 1400lbs capacity you should be unloading weight. Another thing over pressuring your tires and then going off road is not good advice to give. Just as an example 15 psi is the pressure on your body at sea level you just put a third of that into your tires. I also see a lot of advice given via text through out the video which in some cases corrects what you vocally said but its not an audible thing and can be easily missed.

I can get back on my feet and get a little bit more green in the bank then I’ll definitely be getting more of those eagle flow AC units. I am curious which battery bank you would recommend to run the Eco flow, and if you’ve tried the heating function of it at all

    • @JonDZ_Adventuring
      @JonDZ_Adventuring  Год назад

      This video is a good example of how many WH (watt hours) you will need. The Delta 2 max is compact enough to fit behind a car seat and provides a good amount of juice. In this sample test, it was 75F with about 99.% humidity, it felt like 100F, it was miserable. The AC was drawing a lot initially, but leveled out later on at night. I ended up with 45% battery left on the 2048 WH Delta 2 Max. This was with the Wave2 running off A/C 110. If you use the proprietary XT150 cable, the Wave 2 is suppose to run 28% more efficient!! The Ecoflow products pair well together and I think that’s because everything operates at 48v instead of 12v.

    Ha ha the suspension bushings on my new off-road camper. Trailer did exactly the same thing from the first outing on very annoying.

      It’s so strange that it all started after I left Las Vegas. I wonder if the Las Vegas heat had anything to do with it.

    Nice video. This year, I traded my Subaru Outback Wilderness for ZR2. I am new to 4x4 trails.
    Last year, with Subaru OW, I completed Ophir Pass but backed out on Imogene as I didn't want to go alone.
    This year, with ZR2, completed so many challenging 4x4 trails without any sweat including Imogene, Fin and Things, Hell's Revenge (partial) and more...

    For that price, I will sleep in my car while it is running.

      Definitely a high upfront cost, but it will eventually pay for itself and improve the adventure travel experience.
      Most people (in our case, couples), won’t be able to deal with the discomfort of sleeping in the front seat of their adventure rig (with the AC turned on). Or will have to spend a substantial amount of time emptying out the rear to prepare a sleeping quarters. Sometimes people won’t have the fuel to spare when on a trip to a remote location. The only good alternative is to camp at high elevations where it’s always cool.
      I’m doing more testing, but I believe my power setup will be able to replace all my chemical cooking and heating systems. A 2048WH power station like the Delta 2 Max combined with my 430 W DC charger is a very potent setup. The biggest test is if the Wave2 will keep me warm in 0 degrees Fahrenheit this winter.

    Dude! Bummed I won't be able to make it down for the trip next week. I can't power my way down in a day. Have a ball, I'll catch you on the next one.

      Ah darn Vibol! Well it was nice hanging with you at Overland Expo. I need to actually adventure out in Oregon sometime. Maybe the coast or Owyhee.

    That's interesting about the tire pressure. My RAM weighs 5,700 lbs, and I typically run 23 psi F&R, when off roading, my door sticker pressure is 55F & 45R. I wonder if you could have dropped pressures to 28-32 range even loaded as much as you are? Still safe enough for the street to get to gas station air compressor afterward?

    • @JonDZ_Adventuring
      @JonDZ_Adventuring  Год назад

      That’s a good point! That would have been noticeably grippier than 40 psi. I just need to take the time to rewire the tire inflator. I discovered it wasn’t working when I tried to air up after imogene pass.
