Agreed. Feelings are messengers that help me interpret my life circumstances. Mr. Spock. Dr. Spock was a child psychologist in the 50's and 60's who was popular.

"I feel so guilty..." My mother would tell me over and over again. But she said that about EVERY perceived "failure" of her day. One day I information her, "guilt is a feeling, not a medical condition." BOUNDARIES! Thanks for this message, Dr. Cloud!

Dr. Cloud-The very best “action” i took today, was to tell myself, what my “boundaries” were going to be, today, from when i first got up, and throughout my day. On top of the list, was to stay away from my IPad as a “stress-reliever”…i had a very productive, and calm day. Isn’t THAT amazing?? Thanks for your support!!! Have Happy New Year!! I know it will be an “eventful” year…i just hope we ALL get THROUGH the “events” in one piece…how ‘bout you??😊❤

Hello Dr. Cloud. I have been listening to your videos recently. I seen you on the "Talk it out show" with Joyce Meyer. I'm happy to know that there is pschologist that is a believer in God. That helps me because I am going through a lot of Tramatic Grief that has just about caused me to feel like killing myself. I wish I could meet you in person so I can get answers I need to help me heal. My brother and fiancee passed away recently. In addition, there are several other reasons that are causing me grief. Please Dr. Henry, if you have time, could you give me some coping skills.

Could you touch on the problem of being 82 and being completely cut off from my son. I’ve apologized in every way possible. I went to his home thinking we would talk face to face, but he threatened to call the police. I can’t even identify my feelings.

How long did it take you to apologize? Did he tell you in subtle n less subtle ways why he was going no contact? What did your apology look like? What did you say exactly? Check out the connection club podcast for help but you honestly have to know why you want connection and what you actually did to try to reestablish. Additionally alot has to do with what exactly you are apologizing for. It's always good to apologize even if for yourself as it's a growth thing n even if he doesn't want to have a relationship with you doesn't mean he won't still appreciate you. You have no right just showing up there.

I don’t know how to balance feelings and God. I feel guilty when I feel things, I feel like I have to be perfect for God and be and think a certain way. Feelings make me so uncomfortable 😬
I tend to control my feelings, so I don’t have to be vulnerable and I also feel guilty for having feelings 😩

For me, the emotions in the psalms speak to me about the value the Lord places on our emotions

“Use the signal [anger] to tell you that you are being controlled by someone else.” And then do something to change the state of being that’s creating that feeling.

Dear Dr. Cloud - I have always thought someone should mention to you, in love, to slow down enough to take a quiet sip of your beverage in your mug. Or, perhaps drink from a water bottle where you can more quietly take a sip. We all love you very much.
