Only a Helluva Boss episode could start out with an amazingly fun musical number, give us a bunch of whacky bullshit Zim-like shenanigans, and then punch us directly in the gut emotionally by the end. Blitzø and Stolas's argument broke my heart. I broke down crying when Stolas said "I think so highly of you... I didn't realize you thought so low of me."

The last 8 minutes of this episode were a masterpiece. The absolute culmination of Blitzo and Stolas' entire relationship. Brutal. I'm so glad that the ultimate conflict between Stolas and Blitzø did not come from miscommunication like you see in so many bad rom-coms. Their intentions and feelings were laid bare.

It happens a lot, and it’s usually associated with strong negative emotions with him
Personally I feel like blitz's feelings are valid. Yes stolas has shown his feelings to us as the audience but not blitz. That's why he's so surprised when stolas just suddenly tells blitz he cares about him. To blitz it seems out of nowhere especially when we see all of their interactions together, it WAS just about sex at first and blitz had no reason to think it was anything more than that because stolas never communicated it was.

While I agree that Stolas has shown most of his feelings to us as the audience, he's also made it clear to Blitz that he likes him beyond sex. He expressed to the audience, AND to Blitz that he was overjoyed that Blitz asked him out on a proper date in Ozzie's, and at the end of the episode he made it clear that inviting him inside was NOT about sex, and was about spending more time with him. His feelings are 100% valid, I agree, AND Blitz is in denial. He's taking his generational trauma, or his perception of a relationship between two social classes/races and the kind of unhealthy power dynamic it has, and projecting it onto Stolas, where it doesn't apply in the slightest. In fact, the power dynamic in this case slightly swapped, where although Blitz needed Stolas' book, he took advantage of Stolas' FEELINGS and used that to get his grimoire.
While Stolas gave terms to the usage of his grimoire and initiated the "Full Moon Agreement," BLITZ was the one that solicited Stolas to begin with. And while he was going to steal the book and leave Stolas blindfolded and blissful, he decided to leverage Stolas' failing marriage and status as his "only friend," and pull a long-con. It was NEVER just sex for Stolas. It was liberation, being freed from his abuse and torment, by the first person to see him as something other than an Ars Goetia. Basically, Stolas was TOO DAMN happy about having sex with Blitz for it to be just about sex.
Now back to the present moment, even if Stolas NEVER made it clear up until this point that things weren't just about sex, HE DID NOW. He never forced himself on Blitz or disrespected their relationship. Even his horny ramblings didn't put Blitz below him. He thinks very highly of Blitz, even putting him on a pedestal, and makes that clear with his dialogue. The only times you can argue otherwise is when Stolas calls him "my little imp," and other pet names/phrases. But that is much less about the power dynamic, and more about using classic endearing names that imply a deeper relationship. He's mine, I'm yours, etc.
Point being, Stolas, regardless of how well he spelled it out to Blitz in the past, has made his feelings clear to him. And Blitz, while his feelings are valid, has no excuse to dismiss Stolas' feelings the way he did and HAS, assuming that the Owl's attempts to deepen their relationship, is just about fucking. ESPECIALLY this moment they shared, where he gave Blitz the crystal and showed him his heart. He was vulnerable and made his feelings very clear in that moment. And Blitz chewed him up and spat him out. That has nothing to do with anything Stolas has done, and everything to do with Blitz. The Bad Trip song summed it up pretty nicely.
Blitzo's feelings might be Valid but it's not about Stolas's actions specially in this episode. Stolas made himself very clear. He said "I have feelings for you" , he said "you are free of me", etc
Unfortunately Blitzo is traumatized and not just by Stolas, he has trauma from his past and he couldn't stay with his past partners either so he wouldn't believe Stolas's words

He didn’t take up for Blitzo and still acted embarrassed of him. How is he supposed to just know that especially because even if you can say that Blitzo “manipulated his feelings” Stolas after realizing what it was MADE TERMS AND CONDITIONS to have Blitzo’s livelihood in his hands in exchange for sex.

Oh boy. This episode. I just finished watching it. It was awesome! The cherubs, DHORKS and the Stolas and Blitz falling out!
Ultimately this needed to happen.
Blitzo and Stolas' deal was always exploitative and unhealthy on both ends.
Blitzo is a self-destructive mess who pushes everyone away and demolishes his own relationships because of his insecurities and implusively lashing out, but the harshest part is that he really isn't even completely wrong.
As we saw throughout season 1, Stolas was constantly only thinking and talking about sex with him and ignoring Blitzo when he showed he was uninterested or uncomfortable with the flirting and Stolas really was coercing him into a a deal where he didn't have the option to refuse at first as seen in the first episode.
Their relationship was inherently unhealthy because of the severe imbalance of power and the fact that even though on some level Blitzo does like Stolas he was being made to feel trapped and unable to have his own boundaries because losing Stolas' favor would mean the destruction of his business and livelihood. Even if it wasn't what Stolas intended to do, it's still what happened because Stolas was overcompensating hard for having gone so long starved for affection and didn't realize how complicated the situation and feelings really were for Blitzo soon enough.
I don’t know why Hella boss is like one of the best shows of this year. That’s not on like you know Netflix Disney+ HBO. I think it’s because how emotion is from the other shows. We’ve got this year other than Scooby-Doo. We don’t talk about the Velma show though.

Glad this episode finally layed out that Stolas is not innocent in this as well. This whole thing, the transactions, "meetings" each month in exchange for the book, this was his idea, his demand. And at season 1's ending (at ozzie's) when he didn't even say a word in defence of Blitzo when Fizz and Ozzie were roasting him publically, he just covered his face with a menu to avoid eye contact. Since the beggining Blitzo thought it was just a roleplay, that he was being used, and he got so used to it that he wouldn't possibly think there was something more behind it all.
Stella turning out to never loved Stolas to begin with, Stella hiring Striker to kill Stolas
The opening number, the Cherubs, Fizzarolli … all of it was amazing, but Stolas’s dialogue when giving Blitzø the Asmodian Crystal was like Vivzie punched my heart into my throat and I just want to hug my best birb Stolas 🥺🥺🥺

I'm guessing the DHORK members either placed a tracker somewhere inside Blitz or took some blood samples when they first captured him while he was knocked out
Blitz may have been fucking it up, but it's because he is broken and has a warped view of himself and how others see him. Just because outside viewers can see it doesn't mean he can. Add to it, Stolas isn't fully innocent, nor also fucking up in the end. Stolas has acted pompous in the past with Blitz, as well as treated him not the best. Not out of malicious intent, but from his upbringing and not understanding social dynamics from the perception of lower class. He would constantly call Blitz his little imp, Blitzy, little creatures, etc. I think in his mind it was a warped version of flirting, but Blitz didn't see it that way. Yes Stolas figured it out and tried to right the wrongs, but by then it was too late, Blitz saw Stolas as only fucking with him. We never saw them have sit down discussions or really communicate. Stolas tried at Ozzie's, but it didn't last long enough to have any effect. Add to it Blitz was expecting a fun night, only for Stolas to spring this on him. Yes Blitz fucked up by trying to treat it as a joke, but with how long the transaction has been going you think Stolas would of picked up Blitz uses sex and jokes to diffuse a sensitive situation. Blitz literally said "give me a minute to think". He literally had no time to process besides his instinctive make it a joke as a defense mechanism. And yeah he started yelling at Stolas cause thats Blitz's next go to defense mechanism. Stolas threw him out, with very little time to process.

The thing is, i feel a lot of people only look at Blitz as the one completely at fault because the show constantly tries making Stolas out to be someone who is always a victim. A lot of people aren’t able to see how Stolas also dropped the ball. Yeah, Blifz fucked up with the escalation but Stolas did too when he didn’t give Blitz time to process things (which Blitz himself stated) and in the middle just decided what Blitz felt for him and refused to continue the conversation anymore. I understand he just didn’t want to get more hurt but he fucked up by not letting Blitz process or express any doubts he may have.
Stolas’ feelings may have been clear to the audience but it clearly wasn’t to Blitz. He would think it’s a joke when it’s been shown that Stolas unintentionally used demeaning language towards him (plaything) and what he called the imps in Wrath. Yeah he’s tried to be better by things like stop calling Blitz by the nickname he always got annoyed about being called but that’s not going to erase the status quo Blitz felt from the start of their arrangement. Especially considering it said that they skipped a few months. Given how weird they seem to be in the bedrooms, I assume roleplay wouldn’t seem such a crazy thought. And that line from Loona talking about how Stolas seems to be getting bored of him by canceling on him for months definitely planted the seed of doubt that started growing the moment Stolas started talking about taking the book IMP needs to success away permanently before showing the Crystal. And not to mention just the fact that it’s obvious how looked down upon IMPs are generally.
BOTH of them fucked up in this confrontation but one just feels more obvious cause the show makes Stolas’s feelings more visible and Blitz’s feelings are shown through more subtle ways (which fits cause his character is supposed to be hiding these emotions a lot more and is supposed to be able to hide it better since those walls were “conjured up to live”)
i disagree on the fact that he didnt let him process it. He said his piece and got up only AFTER Blitz practically mocked his confession. Personally that would have also been too much for me and i would have walked away. What else was he supposed to do? "Here are all my feelings u can take 5 business days to respond and get back to me"? Thats not how conversations rly go. The ball was in Blitz's court and instead of being like shit i cant process this rn he (unintentionally) mocked him, humiliated him and threw Stolas's feelings in his face. In this whole relationship they were both at fault but Stolas went above and beyond to make his feelings come across properly in this particular conversation imo.

Idk man I dont think it's actually that Blitzø fucked up with his reaction. I mean yes the first part where he thought it was rp was uncalled for but lets be real thats stolas he's talking to -the guy who greeted him regarding his parts- and Blitz clearly didnt get the signs that stolas actually started to care hell he didnt even get it when Stolas threw it directly at him.
The rest of the deal was just Blitz being completely overhelmed with the situation.
There is no one at fault here imo. It's just two completely different mind sets colliding in something that build up for probably months and which as a result exploded and got poorly handled because both were not able to unverstand the other in that situation. They are tragic but lets be real thats part of why we ship them so much lmao

I dont think that is just Blitz that is making this relationship hard. Stolas is very vocal about his feelings with us audience, but he never spoke about it with Blitz, he was always sexual oriented with him and of course Blitz hates himself so much that he could not conceive that someone would love him
He genuinely asked about his days, his hobbies etc. he was acting like a teen in love when they met at Ozzies...
For every normal person in Blitz' position it would have been very clear that Stolas is in love.

That's... not true. We've definitely seen him after that. Western Energy (the episode where Stolas got hurt and hospitalized) was Season 2 Episode 4. Oops (the episode where Blitz and Fizz made amends and Stolas asked Amadeus for a crystal to give to Blitz) was Season 2 episode 6.

While Blitz *does* contribute to the issue their relationship has, let's not pretend Stolas has never done anything wrong either, because he while we all sympathetically want to defend Stolas, he *has* contributed to the problem too. The entire deal they were in was his idea to begin with, and a lot of Stolas's behavior plays into Blitz's extremely well-established self hatred issues and sense of inferiority within the uncaring hierarchy of hell; constantly using the demeaning term of "little" when referring to Blitz, having the majority of their conversations involve at least some level of flirting, and given the history of their relationship, it makes 100% sense if, from Blitz's perspective, he saw the end of season 1 (minus the Beelzebub episode) as Stolas trying to get him in bed again and *not* the attempt to connect that we as the audience could see (cause we as the audience have the luxury of seeing all of Stolas's dramatic musical numbers about having sincere feelings for Blitz and such). Look, Blitz *is* the largest problem, but it's irrational to shift every single ounce of blame for their relationship falling apart onto him when Stolas *did* contribute.

So Dhork agents are planning to invade Hell and they got the Cherubs to team up. However, the Cherubs are lying to them being exorcist angels. I can see next season where I.M.P. will have to battle the army of Dhork agents and the Cherubs in order to stop them from destroying the balance. Blitz, Moxxie, Millie, and Loona are going to need help and have an army to stop them. This will be a huge battle that is coming. Lets see how the rest of season 2 plays out. Creating a portal to Hell is really a bad idea because it will cause disasters. They never learn from the Doom games that opening a portal to Hell was never a good idea to begin with and it will backfire on them in a terrible way. Dhorks are putting the world endanger.
Also, Moxxie, Millie, and Loona vs the Mechsuit Cherubs is a good fight. It shows that the Cherubs didn't have combat training. It was like 3 inexperienced fighters vs 3 experienced fighters. 3 experienced fighters won the fight!
Poor Stolas. Blitz really mess this one up! Blitz needs to realize what he has done! Stolas mess up as well.
For explaining at the end-
Stolas seems to be smart and Clarify things if Blitzo loves him or he's just using him for his grimwa (the book) but over the episodes stolas would know Lust would become not Right and felt like not Right for sure. Cause why he give Blitzo the Gem to travel because He realize he's just being used and he clarify he may love blitz but Stolas will no longer giveany Obligations for Blitzo to talk to him and touch him and do their gay stuffs,

Don’t be heaping all the blame for this shit on Blitz. Stolas might have come around first emotionally, but that darn sure doesn’t excuse the way he treated Blitz at the beginning; their little ‘arrangement’ LuLu Land, the Harvest moon festival, the hesitation from shame and/or embarrassment at Ozzie’s.
Make darn sure you give bird boy his share of the blame for all this.
I'm sitting here, thinking and if you think about it. This is first episode after whole "Hazbin Hotel Series" Right?.....Maybe that's the reason why it starts with song
I don't think the blame is only on Blitz here. Their relationship have always been transactional before now and since Blitz don't love himself he don't believe that anyone could love him so all of the obvious signs that Stolas was interested in him in a romantic way, he just dismissed them because he never thought it could be possible. Also in the firsts episodes Stolas was often refering to him as "itsy bitsy IMP" and things like that and even though it probablt wasn't said in a mean way coming from Stolas, it's still condescending. It's not very surprising that Blitz was still confused when Stolas confessed to him and I think that Stolas have been a bit too fast to reject Blitz here. I think the whole conversation would have been different here if Stolas would have just gone "Yes Blitz I am serious, I love you" instead of rejecting him directly, and I think this is why Blitz was mad and started to yell at him. Because Stolas didn't even give him some time to process what was happening, just because Blitz didn't went directly "I love you too", Stolas took it as a rejection and pushed Blitz away. Personally I think Stolas was a bit too emotional here and reacted a bit too strongly, though maybe it was because of the fact that he didn't have his pills today.
6:36 well yeah but no. I mean it is Blitzø’s fault that he doesn’t get Stolas’s attempts to make the relationship deeper, but this all stems from the deal they have. The deal , the way stolas treated him in season one (pet names, secualizing and stuff) and the social distance between them are most of the reason Blitzø thinks Stolas only uses him as some kind of plaything. And honestly as far as i took me a while to realize, it’s fair. I mean if you consider the situation from Blitzø’s viewpoint within the context and all the only thing he can think of is that stolas is using him for sex. That’s why in their meeting he’s oversexualizing so much the situation and himself in the first place, not even being able to read the room a bit. That was cringe but mostly painfull to watch. Painfull because you can see he’s just playing a role, he’s objectifying himself because he thinks this is what Stolas wants. How he said “i’m not f-ing you good enough because i can always do better” it actually broke me. Painfull because he hates himself so much he doesn’t even think as possible that someone actually has feelings for him. Stolas has sent hints about how he feels but hints Blitzø clearly did not get (in seeing stars, when he shows affection to Blitz he said “if your performance on stage is half as good as it is bed you’ll leave them breathless”, so again a sex thing) or get in the wrong way (in oops when Blitzø talks to Fizz we get that he assumes Stolas is being nice to him only to feel better about himself) . Plus the moments we (as the audience) realized Stolas’s feeling Blitzø wasn’t there. Blitzø didn’t see Stolas prepare to go an a date with him, neither he saw Stolas talking to Asmodeous about his feelings
So the DHORKS had Moxie and Blitz captured for hours… Had all that footage and watched it… But never got their names? They do suck.
The two of them have both made two fatal mistakes for their ''relationship'' in their last exchange which is likely to be their final one for the foreseeable future.
Blitz's inability to accept the love of others which leads to his fear that no one could love him completely derailed the entire moment. Furthermore, he has cemented the said fear subconsciously and consciously as reality or more as gospel due to his insecurities, and knowing this it's fair to assume that the 'confession Stolas pulled off was never going to be interpreted well.
The first mistake made by Stolas is that he was quick to react to Blitz's carefree and dismissive attitude towards his words. His issue, as Blitz's, is that he suffers from a great deal of insecurity, thus it makes complete sense that he reacted the way he did. However, if he had been more calm and collected he easily could've understood Blitz's disbelief and reassured him that he wasn't playing tricks. Again, knowing the current nature of these characters this would be too much to expect.
What truly made this conversation, if it can even be referred to as such given the fact that neither of them were willing to hear out the other, unsalvageable is Blitz's sudden hostility.
Instead of being rational and taking in what Stolas said to him previously , he jumped to conclusions and allowed his insecurities to speak for him. In Blitz's defense, Stolas hadn't truly up until this wreck of a conversation shown that he genuinely cared for Blitz. His heart was in the right place throughout their entire arrangement, yet he continued to push the narrative, even if simply since he believed that Blitz enjoyed it, of them not being on the same level as people given their different status. It really shines the light on how Stolas had been emotionally tone-deaf towards Blitz and that truth really makes Stolas' last words for Blitz seem a tad bit selfish. Then again, it is understandable since we have known and understood the character well for a while now.
There's also the matter of how Stolas most likely feels similar to how Blitz does, he definitely felt and still does feel used by Blitz. Stolas dreaded the possibility of Blitz not reciprocating his feelings which does to an extent explain his bourgeoisie behavior that he presented to Blitz during all of that time they spent together as a way to please Blitz, thinking that is what the truly imp wanted.
We also have Stolas' dismissal of Blitz's plea to wait a moment at the very end. That mistake can be explained as Stolas not hearing Blitz due to his own anguish and raw emotion caused by Blitz's words, but it's hard to tell.
The core mistake they've made is that they put off their incredibly necessary talk about everything that's been wrong with their relationship. Yes, Stolas is the one to blame for rushing their relationship by attempting to enter a new chapter of it, however Blitz didn't actually try to talk about what is and has been wrong for a long while with what they have, he merely acted on impulse and vented by being highly hurtful towards Stolas. Again, not that it wasn't warranted to some degree.
The two of them hurt each other a ton indirectly over the course of the series that we've seen so far, but I am hopeful that their relationship is going to end wholesomely. As wholesomely as a relationship between two demons of hell can, and it'll obviously end that way....please, let it end that way.
Its a decent episode.
The cherubs were done more justice in this episode, Im just not entirely sure that having their plot be in the same episode as Blitzo and Stolas falling out was the right choice. It just felt weird.
Also, once again, overreliant on sex jokes. They really need to work on that, it kills the moment sometimes.
Dude you need to actually stop and think about How fucked up what stolas did actually is. Blitz has a right to be upset. He's been letting himself get used, he literally hasn't had consent in this relationship from the very beginning. That would mess with my emotions so hard, I would not be able to believe a word that someone said after they treated me the way that stolas treated him. Also looking at it from the perspective of someone who is autistic, sometimes you have to have something spelled out for you to understand. Common Sense and common knowledge are not universal, especially if you've had traumatic experiences. He needed stolas to say this stuff months ago. I'm not blaming stolas, he thought that blitz was willing in the relationship. He thought that blitz had seeked him out. But he did coerced the situation and he's aware of that. He also quite frequently ignores blitz's boundaries, refuses to respect him the way that he wants to be respected, constantly calls him little and small. I would think that the other person didn't even see me as a person if they talked to me like that after I literally told them to stop

Two emotionally damaged and abused creatures , one out of antidepressants who can’t accept what the other feels for them. In being who they are they both cannot believe the other might want them so in that moment they both are so far in their own self hate they fail to honestly listen to each other. Blitz turns to anger when he feels and Stolas to self pity almost and that moment keeps either from seeing the shields they place. Stolas has had self realization of what Blitz feels but doesn’t pause to honestly consider how ripping the bandages of their deal might cause Blitz to hemorrhage all that rage. But, then again Stolas had already prepared for rejection. If you pay attention to their walk all the statues and paintings are covered as you do when preparing to close a house up..
Sorry way to many yrs of counseling from my own dark relationships( one reason seeing Hazbin handle Angel and Val hits home) Plus easier looking into a relationship from the outside and seeing what one cannot from the inside. This all from two great shows I never saw coming.
The opening number, the Cherubs, Fizzarolli … all of it was amazing, but Stolas’s dialogue when giving Blitzø the Asmodian Crystal was like Vivzie punched my heart into my throat and I just want to hug my best birb Stolas 🥺🥺🥺

Stolas tried so hard. Even when Blitzø kept bringing it back to sex.
But maybe this had to happen. Maybe they had to break up completely so they could heal. There is an apology tour coming but that doesnt nessicarily mean they'll end back up together. After the apology tour is done they could part on good terms or at least mutual terms and go their separate ways.
And on a lighter note. I love the hip/butt shake that Loona does at 22:06. Woof. ^^
I feel like both Blitz and Stolas fucked this relationship up.
Blitz saw this as a transaction where Stolas just wants him for sex and based on his whole life, he has a view on these royal demons. Also he is self destructive and is afraid to love people while also wanting the love too, so it would be easy for him to get set off if things change like that all of the sudden. He saw this as here is another way to do your job, we don't need to do this anymore, so there is no more need for you.
Stolas had a horrible childhood and had his whole life set out for him without his say in it at all. Only good thing that came out of it was his daughter which his life was also screwing up his relationship with her. He saw Blitz as a friend and wanted something to keep Blitz around which was his book. After a while of this, he wanted to take things to the next level by giving Blitz a choice, but he didn't really deliver it all that well while also making himself smaller in his eyes. This sounded like a gentle break-up which he did not want. He just wanted Blitz to have a choice, but did not have the right words which could be hard in this situation.
