I just noticed Stolas takes his crown/hat off when he tells Blitzø he can stay if he wants to, as a sense of showing his vulnerability, but then puts it back on when Blitzø doesn’t take him seriously.
Other time I’ve seen something like this was in Lion King on Broadway. Mufasa takes off his crown while talking to Simba, to speak to him as his papa and not as his king.
At the same time he doesn't turn because that would show Blitzo his vulnerability. Sadly that's why he also doesn't see the tears. Or how Blitzos face changes when he sees Stolas tears and realize that he went too far. And that Stolas was kind and sincere the whole time even though it must have taken Stolas so much courage and strengh to do so 🥲
Also when at the Ozzie's restaurante episode, Stolas says good bye to Blitz by bowing, when his father clearly told him that Blitz is the one who must bow cause he's from a lower class,it was a sign of fully respect and that stolas doesn't seen him as a lower class demon but as an equal 😢
That part, that scene looked so similar to me. In Good Omens, Crowley also takes off his glasses when he shows Aziraphale his vulnerability and sincere emotions.

I think what hurts so much about it for me is that Stolas is unknowingly doing _exactly_ what Blitzø does: he's preemptively expecting rejection, so it's not as painful when it happens.

Not even a day into Pride Month and they broke the gays up. Stolas voice cracking at the line "I didn't realize you think so low of me" was real stab to the heart, not just to me but to Blitzø too as he immediately regrets his outburst. What a way to end the episode. 😥
I think Blitz is used to being met with confrontation/anger when someone cuts him from his life, Verosika, Fizz, Barbie Wire, they all matched his aggression whenever they were in his vicinity. It's his knee jerk reaction when he's afraid. When he sees that Stolas is crying he feels bad and tries to apologize right after. I can't with these two I JUST WANT MY BOYS TO BE HAPPY

@@valentinkambushev4968When Blitz asked him to go to Ozzie's. He tried to talk to Blitz then, and was ignored. When Blitz drove him home, Stolas tried to invite him in to talk, or watch a film. That they didn't just have to have sex. If you look at the texts on Stolas' phone when he was in hospital, he was trying to mend things. He was checking in on his wellbeing etc etc. Remember, Blitz was the one that first started them fooling around together. When Stolas finally met Blitz again, he was only jokingly flirting, because once Blitz started trying to get him to have sex Stolas got all shy and kept backing off initially.

Notice how when Stolas gave him the crystal, Blitzø wasn't excited or happy. He just kept saying he could do better. Even after being told what the gem does, Blitzø doesnt want to end the relationship with Stolas. But he has no idea how to express that. 😭

Only a Helluva Boss episode could start out with an amazingly fun musical number, give us a bunch of whacky shenanigans, and then punch us directly in the gut by the end.

You know, I just realized something. A big reason Stolas probably felt so hurt by Blitzo's angry rant was because of his experience with other royals in his class. He knows horrible Goetias like Stella and Andrealphus, as well as probably many others. He's seen their classism first hand, and how disgusted they are by imps. With this, he probably strives to never be like them. And, for Blitzo to put him on the same level as the worst royals he knows himself, despite him trying his best, would break him. Stolas may struggle to get rid of the clear power imbalance or even notice it, but he still sees Blitzo on the same level as himself, unlike the other Goetias he knows. When he says, "I never knew you thought so low of me," he really means "I never knew you thought of me as low as them." Them being people like Stella.
Stolas' interpretation of Blitz's behavior is also soured by his own self doubts in everything he does. His immediate thought is that Blitz is throwing his feelings back at him, and only sees him as a perverted royal that wants sex, because that's what the outward portrayal is.
When we, as the audience, can understand that it's really that he thinks the world of Stolas. However he thinks very lowly of himself, that he'd be unworthy of love, especially from this figure of immeasurable power and importance relative to himself. If Blitz believes himself unlovable, he'll sabotage his chances because believing Stolas to be genuine about such feelings would, in his mind, be setting himself up for more heartbreak as he is played with.

Woahhh, I love that perspective. I was just thinking about how it completed his line from the beginning, when Stolas sings "I'll believe him and not the voice that says I'm not enough." And he did listen to Blitzø, but thought that Blitzø was saying the same thing as that voice.
Thing is, even though stolas tries to not be like the other royals he does subconsciously treat the imps as lesser. Remember when Octavia ran away while stolas was dealing with stellas stuff? He was walking around with an imp in his hand while he talked on the phone and he squeezed him out of frustration when stella was getting to be too much. It's a learned behavior he grew up being taught and despite the fact that he does see blitz as someone on equal footing as him he still does talk to him in a very condescending way, a way he doesnt even realize he's doing but blitz can hear it and understands it as stolas seeing him as nothing more than just another imp.

I desperately want Blitz to admit that he has some form of dyslexia or similar. Which he will of course never do. Whilst in the meantime Stolas is sending him intricate massive walls of text that Blitz genuinely can't deal with, and Stolas goes immediately to depressive moods and "he loves me not" when PLENTY OF PEOPLE HAVE DYSLEXIA (or similar conditions). We need to get Blitz a special font for his phone, I swear.

The rage of Blitzø and the sadness of Stolas... Brandon and Bryce did an amazing work here. The last 8 minutes of this episode were a masterpiece. The absolute culmination of they entire relationship. Brutal. The parallel of Blitzø now being left alone, at night in front of Stolas’s home. The same thing Blitzø did to him, is heartbreaking.
Saddest thing is... Blitz finally was looking Stolas' way. And also was just about to be emotional. But because he started yelling, like Stella. Stolas didn't look back to see the tears. He just hears the words. Then he sends Blitz away. But not before Blitz sees that he hurt Stolas with what he said in anger, and he wanted to apologize. 😢😢😢
I was weirdly relieved that Stolas was the one pushing Blitzø away, rather than the opposite. That, along with the fact that the worst bits from the trailer were all in the first episode, gives me hope that we won't have to wait for their reconciliation for too long.
Blitzø was hurt, but he clearly tried. He was trying to communicate to Stolas that he needed time to process everything that he was throwing at him all at once - but Stolas was too deep in his own self-loathing to read that as a sign of care.
Blitz tried to communicate - but right after asking for a minute to think he lashed out and started the same speech he presented to Fizz. And he clearly didn't consider that every word he told was hitting right into the most painful spot for Stolas. The worst part? Stolas will believe in every word he said. We know it because that's what he told himself during the bath.
Why our boys can't just talk without yelling and talking over each other?

To be fair, remember Stolas was kinda freaking out because he was out of his medication. I guarantee if he had his dose for the day, it would've gone a lot better since he would've had more patience to give Blitz some time to think instead of immediately assuming it's rejection
But if you think about it. Stolas is a hypocrite since the whole thing between them both is a deal not a relationship.
Also the way that Blitz was "communicating" was yelling. Escalating up to following Stolas through the halls shouting, screaming and hurling insults. ....Just like Stella. Remember that Blitz isn't the only one with trauma, here. If you watch Stolas at the end, he doesn't stop to *listen*, really, he pulls up sharp and *freezes* when Blitz starts screaming. And he *flinches* when Blitz curses at him, which we've never seen him do before. He was in trauma response mode, and what broke his heart is that it's *Blitz* that put him there by treating him the *same way Stella used to*.

2. We already know that Blitz scribbles his face in his photos but if you look at the portraits/paintings when Blitz angrily shouts at Stolas. Stolas covered himself and only left Octavia visible. Does this mean that he hates himself that much too?!

One of my favorite details is that when Stolas is walking through the hall, and you see the rows of paintings that are covered up, you can see that on two of them, they're opened up just a little. Because he wanted to make sure that he could always see the pictures of Via.
Idk if it's more sad or heartwarming, but everything in this ep makes my heart hurt.

I feel so bad for both of them. stolas is trying so hard, and he did so well with this. but blitzø is SO broken, he literally can't fathom the idea of stolas or ANYONE caring so deeply for him. he hates himself SO much, and I understand. I have similar reactions to peoples affection towards me--it doesnt feel real, or legitimate. even when I DO believe people care, I feel it's only a matter of time before they change their minds
I really want them to work through things. PLEASE god let them talk things out. blitzø is so damaged, but he has the ability to heal. he has fizz back in his life, and stolas who loves him so much. he and moxxie have become closer, loona is becoming more affectionate towards him, and from the trailer Im hoping we get more insight into his and millies relationship. he has the support system now I don't think hes ever had before, and while I know it'll be a difficult journey Im hoping these connections are enough to help him pull himself out of this dark mental state

I appreciate how you are one of the few people who is appreciating how BOTH them screwed this whole thing up. Legit everyone else I’ve seen is either Blitz did nothing wrong or Stolas did nothing wrong.
But like, they both messed up and yeah, it’s more obvious how Stolas got hurt, but my heart broke for Blitz just as much. Also, the voice actors need all the props. And whoever decided that the confrontation had to happen in the chandelier room.

Man, the reason I love this series is how realistic it is. There's no happy go lucky ways they end things. Relationships are complicated, and relationships that were originally based on sex and using the other have a tendency to develop into something deeper, and at the same time break apart. I LOVE how they portrayed it so well.
To Blitz, it's NEVER once been anything more than just Stolas getting sex from him, and now out of the blue Stolas says he loves him? Add onto that his insecurities? Recipe for disaster. Love it.
People need to realize that Stolas did the wrong thing at the end. Stolas dropped the love thing out of nowhere, After Blitzø realized it was not a joke, Stolas didn't even let him think about it. and just kicked him out. And, the way Stolas started the convo was just wrong. He immediately made it look like he is leaving Blitzø, and that he has more authority (making Blitzø feel more little) starting with "I need my book back." Stolas is.. kind of a hypocrite. He said "you always make it about sex" when.. he never really made it look like anything else HIMSELF.

I love Stolas, but he DOES have the issues Blitz stated in his speech.

Ultimately this needed to happen.
Blitzo and Stolas' deal was always exploitative and unhealthy on both ends.
Blitzo is a self-destructive mess who pushes everyone away and demolishes his own relationships because of his insecurities and implusively lashing out, but the harshest part is that he really isn't even completely wrong.
As we saw throughout season 1, Stolas was constantly only thinking and talking about sex with him and ignoring Blitzo when he showed he was uninterested or uncomfortable with the flirting and Stolas really was coercing him into a a deal where he didn't have the option to refuse at first as seen in the first episode.
Their relationship was inherently unhealthy because of the severe imbalance of power and the fact that even though on some level Blitzo does like Stolas he was being made to feel trapped and unable to have his own boundaries because losing Stolas' favor would mean the destruction of his business and livelihood. Even if it wasn't what Stolas intended to do, it's still what happened because Stolas was overcompensating hard for having gone so long starved for affection and didn't realize how complicated the situation and feelings really were for Blitzo soon enough.
That SpindleHorse logo scared me.
I remember watching the credits and then the loud ass horse noises from the SpindleHorse vanity card.
Honestly, the break-up felt like "We know it's gonna happen. You know its gonna happen.
We know you know its gonna happen.
We have cool stuff planned before and after this, but we have no idea how to write a full episode around this, so lets get it over with and have a fun B-plot."
You can tell how far Stolas has matured in the series. Divorcing Stella was his first step as an ACTUAL adult upon having that wakeup call at Ozzie's. Admitting how messed up their relationship wasn't easy for him especially when you think of how he was raised. He was taught to be a royal and not how to perform or understand social cues.

Blitz was right. While Stolas has been thinking about this for a while, he just suddenly dropped this heavy emotional stuff on Blitz from seemingly out of nowhere. Then he gets dramatic when Blitz doesn't immediately take him seriously. As Blitz pointed out, Stolas never even gave Blitz a few minutes to absorb the info or even to think about it. It's actually Stolas' main problem, he doesn't listen. He says what he wants but doesn't really listen to others. This has been the cause of both of episodes with Octavia as well. It probably comes from his royal upbringing. He decrees, people listen. He never thinks to ask how they feel or what they think.
Blitz is also in the wrong. He can’t seem to want to listen either. Don’t act like Blitz is completely innocent in the transaction. He stole from Stolas and then disappeared for about 25 years and resurfaced to seduce Stolas to steal his book.
And when he tries to, earnestly tries to, openly says he wants to know what Blitz thinks, wants him to stay only if he wants to stay, Blitz thinks it's a joke and from the first assumption Stolas makes up his mind on how Blitz feels. He doesn't listen anymore fully, doesn't allow him to fully take in that he's serious. Just walks away leaving Blitz hurt and angry as he chases after him.
We know this hurt Blitz too since he literally says that "All you royals play with our feelings than toss us away". Saying that he feels like he's been played with, being played with and when Stolas doesn't immediately get the response he wants he throws him away like a toy. When given a option to stay or go he doesn't take it seriously because he doesn't believe that a royal is possible of doing that for an imp like him.
Not to mention Blitz's first response to the gem was if he could do better, the fear of him being boring to Stolas takes over and he's desperate to continue to have the connection. He doesn't know who to properly express how he feels. I love Blitz, he's such a good example of self destruction and self deprecation. He doesn't believe he's good enough to deserve actual love and care from others, and with his self destruction fueled by his disbelief in being cared about it's not hard to see why he thinks that when he consistently pushes people away.
He's hurt, been so hurt and by his own actions none the less! He doesn't want them to stay, want them to have actual feelings for him, because he'll push them away. He won't believe them even if they say it straight up to his face. As shown with this, it's a horrible mix of some thing fueling the other. So when someone as sincere as Stolas comes along, and wants him for more than just the deal, he doesn't believe it. He's 'fine' with the deal they have going.
He went through so much trouble to make sure Stolas wasn't bored. It was with the guise of the book but even AFTER- He wanted to continue with the night. Even after he was given the crystal, and no longer needed Stolas for his book, he wanted to continue with the night. Because that's all he's known for this relationship. That's what he sees reliable for it. That's the only way he knows how to truly convey how he feels for this, because he's afraid of change of getting hurt.
You can see in his face he does care, wants to stay with Stolas, because he loves him. But he can't fathom the fact that Stolas wants him for more than just sex. He's such a good character and so complex, and this episode just highlights it. I love him dude, even with his flaws.
But I also love Stolas with all his flaws, he's earnestly trying. Failing yes, but trying none the less which is more than literally anybody does in this show, I mean besides Fizz (Love Fizz) from what we know at least. Also he wasn't on his antidepressant pills and he states at the start that he's trying not to dwell on the divorce. Yet the yelling and "The Reason you Suck" speech, all reminds him of Stella. Which probably hurts more honestly.
They are so complex and I just wanna grab them and go RAHHFOQEGIUOPWERIUO- You know?
To be fair it wasn't completely out of nowhere. We saw the messages exchanged between them. Stolas clearly tries to show that he cares and doesn't want to force Blitz to sleep with him because of the deal.
But I agree. Stolas has problem with listening. He was so focused on what he wanted to say that he didn't wait to hear Blitz out. In his defense it's not done maliciously and as you said it most likely comes from his upbringing. Also he ran out of happy pills. He clearly wasn't in a state of mind necessary for this conversation.
Blitz wasn't either.
Unfortunately Blitz angrily asked for a minute to think only to immiedlately fall back into his toxic routine of pushing others away. And he choose to yell at Stolas about how all royalty is shitty and seems imps as lower and unimportant. To Stolas who is a royalty and who knows how horrible they can be first hand. Hell he was married to one of the nasties of them all! And Blitz unintentionaly put him at the same level as her.
This confrontation was doomed to fail from the start.
Hopefully now they can start anew. I just wish there will be some time before they made up.

Stolas literally put his life on the line for Blitz. He risked his marriage, his job and his status. Stolas tried several times to get Blitz to realise he wanted more.
He literally gave him SO MANY OPPORTUNITIES to be with him. When he ended up in the hospital Blitz ghosted the shit out of him. As soon as Stolas told Blitz their encounters were optional Blitz never showed up again, UP UNTIL WHEN THE POSSESSION OF THE GRIMOIRE WAS ON THE LINE.
The fact that Stolas even had ANY hope for Blitz to actually think of him as more is MIND BOGGLING. Anyone in their right mind would've given up on blitz ages ago.
Blitz has to be so lost to not realise that not a single demon of Stolas's hierarchy would ever give a shit if the deal was fair or not. Stolas could literally own him as property if he wanted, why would he bother giving him the Grimoire if he didn't genuinely care about him? Why would he give him the Asmodeus gem if he didn't care?
Then despite that, Blitz pulls this narrative out of his ass, as if Stolas was replacing him, and starts attacking him for no reason. If someone starts screaming at me like that for no reason ain't giving them a chance either, Stolas is a victim of abuse from his own wife, who screams at him 24/7, of course he immediatly shut down in that situation.
That Blitz redemption arc CANNOT COME SOON ENOUGH.
Blitz always saw Stolas as a means to an end. He only cared about getting the book at the end of the day. And all of a sudden, he's saying that Stolas sees him as a replaceable object???? Bitch that's literally how you see Stolas, not the other way around.
And what does he even mean with "After everything you put me throught"???? Stolas never forced anything on him, Blitz has ALWAYS had the choice, and if anything Blitz benefits FAR more from the deal than Stolas does, his job literally depends on it and Stolas even saved his ass before. Ungrateful little shit behavior.
He's been trying to get Blitz to talk since Ozzie's. Blitz wouldn't. Blitz only has himself to blame for this being "out of nowhere". And he doesn't get *dramatic* when Blitz "doesn't take him seriously", he shuts down when Blitz *mocks his confession*. That's his learned, trauma response from dealing with Stella.
Me crying because of the ending vs me immediately wheezing seconds after when Morgan started wiping with money was the quickest mood swing of my life 💀💀💀

stolas actually told blitz what their relationship was going to be in episode 1. "You bring the book to me every full moon followed by a night of personification". To blitz it just seems like a transaction stolas even alludes to that fact as well in the new episode in their conversation. We as an audience know that stolas has these feelings towards blitz but other than episode 1 they have not sat down and talked about being in an actual relationship. The flirting just comes along with the package. To blitz it feels as though stolas just threw this at him and thus his response thinking it's a role playing cause that's all they've done. Stolas doesn't even give blitz time to process before walking out on blitz. Even as blitz tries to talk to him (which he spoke no lies in that speach) stolas only hears what he wants and instead of talking and giving him that choice like he sung about. He shoves blitz out. I am completely on blitz side and I believe stolas is a hypocrite because of one line " and for you to think this was all about sex". The relationship WAS about sex in his own words you can't fault blitz for stolas's miscommunication.
But also Blitz stole from Stolas and disappeared for about 25 years and resurfaced to seduce Stolas to get the book. So you can’t blame Stolas for thinking Blitz just cares about sex and his book.

I have a friend who has Borderline Personality Disorder and they vibe *SO HARD* with Blitz and see so much of themself in him. And they 100% understood Blitz's reactions here even as they also see how they were not great. (Especially seeing how they were not great.)
I just noticed when Stolas was putting the asmodian crystal on the bookshelf, that the red book was about pirates. A bittersweet call back to the episode when they were kids.
I truly believe we all shared our tears in the end because it hurt me so bad in my soul after watching that ending 😭

I don’t blame either of the two, they’ve both been stuck in such cruel mindsets and the result is just as bad as I was expecting, the only frustration I show is the fact that Blitz never spoke up about it and Stolas never asked him why he was like that

Blitz0 has so many conflicting feelings in his head, from not wanting Stolas to let him go, but not knowing how to show it, to rage at being dismissed so easily, even though every single one of us knows it WASN'T a dismissal, and it WASN'T easy.

Both Blitz and Stolas couldn’t have handled that worse 😭. Stolas loves Blitz but he dosent completely understand Blitz’s feelings as a “low level imp”, he completely controls the situation and when he cuts Blitz off it feels like to Blitz what every royal does throwing away a toy after it’s been used. Blitz has convinced himself for so long that he is a horrible person who dosent deserve love that it seems almost incapable for Stolas, a royal prince would actually have feelings for him. When he dosent believe Stolas, Stolas is heartbroken and leaves. These two just can’t seem to get it right and like Morgan said, even when they are communicating they are bad at it. Blitz and Stolas have flaws that they NEED to work on before they get in a relationship but yeah this episode recked me. Amazing reaction, ❤.

It was sooo cool clicking and then seeing Elijah’s room and I was so happy. I mean, you guys talk a lot about your friends group (and I follow you all on instagram so I know you are so close) but it really shows how much you can rely on each other if she lets you use her room, and camera and stuff. Is it just me or is Stolas kind of a hypocrite?
Like, the only reason he meets up with blitz is for sex and he knew when he made the deal he was on the run from a murder family and after (especially in episode 2 and 5) he is obsessed with sex, obviously he’s changed and I love him with all my heart but then when he says that blitz only thinks about sex even though STOLAS was the one who cared about sex!
I hate to say it but…almost everything blitz said was true and Stolas just hears “he thinks so little of me” even though blitz was actually trying to talk to Stolas and when blitz calms down a bit he’s just kicked out!
People talk about Blitz needing development but Stolas CAN NOT LISTEN and that’s what they need to do!

It was Stolas who proposed the deal but it was Blitz who put it on a sexual level. In fact, I want to recall that it was Blitz who first seduced Stolas to steal the book. They had just met again after years, barely knew each other, and Blitz jumped between Stolas' legs as soon as he saw an opportunity to distract him, making him think he was there for him. I honestly can't blame Stolas for thinking that a transitional relationship based on sex was what Blitz wanted because of the way he was seduced. Stolas probably thinks he can get Blitz's attention with sex alone.
Also, I am so fucking proud of Stolas. He did phenomenal even if he accepted the rejection a little too quickly- the point is this NEEDED to happen. The ball HAD to fall in Blitzø’s court & I am ecstatic that it has.
Blitzø has to face his feelings. It’s his turn to confess.
I'm honestly not what people want from Stolas anymore. He admitted that the arrangement is unfair, his communication has improved so much, he is doing his best to resolve this complicated situation. Both of their reactions were right and valid, obviously both of them could do better but I don't know why for some people it is always Stolas' fault. He is also a deeply traumatized person with his own issues just like Blitz, but people always expect Stolas to be the perfect, rational one, it's not fair. I'm just. really hoping. that if Stolas DOES have a small period of time where he is angry and perhaps even a bit mean to Blitz, that people extend to him at least a tiny smidge of the grace that they're willing to extend to Blitz. that is all i ask.
Is it really so hard to fathom why stolas would need to get away from someone who's angrily kicking doors and yelling at the top of their lungs? possibly reminding him of someone he lived with for 17 years who did the exact same thing constantly?????
Blitz is not the only one who hates himself. Stella stated that he loves tormenting Stolas; she humiliated him in front of the entire Ars Goetia, calling him pathetic and ugly and bragging about how she had to do everything in bed. Literally Stolas in the duet says he is not good enough for Blitz.
So we excuse Blitz for his actions because he thinks he does not deserve love but we blame Stolas for the same reason?
Let's stop making their relationship a competition about who is the “real bad guy” here.
I think it’s clear though that BOTH Stolas and Blitz have made mistakes in this relationship.
Yeah its a complicated mix of how they view themselves and whatnot. Blitzo lashes out as his defence mechanism but then Stolas' defence mechanism to that defence mechanism is by escaping! I actually quite love how Stolas was shown to be the one to shut down the scene in this ep, I really hope the show focuses on these flaws of his a bit more! I feel like Blitzo is the fire, and Stolas is the one fanning the flames unintentionally. Overall, though i view both of them to be the issue of course, i believe Blitzo is more in the wrong due how much more damage his actions do, despite Stolas' lack of communicating somewhat causing many of the issues in the first place. Its such a complicated dynamic haha i cn't wait to see how things will get better!

Um what are you talking about, Stolas literally got the crystal because he realized he was using Blitz for sex as well and told blitz it isn’t right. So how can you blame Stolas, when Blitz is also to blame. I mean Stolas literally had a serious heart to heart about wanting Blitz to only want to see him because he wants to but you got out of that that Stolas is mostly to blame.
