I have been obsessively stalking all videos with reviews of Tanya’s covers and this one, by far, is my favorite!! I love your attention to detail and just how articulate you are, I could listen to you talk about toilet paper all day (🤣 but will take more reviews like this)! Thank you for such a comprehensive review!

Tanya is in the process of making me a standard and b6 l. I got in touch with her and said she would gladly make them and ship them to me before her reopening. She is such a nice person. I’m so excited. I can’t wait to get them. Mine are going to be hybrids. You can’t beat the prices either. I paid 128.00 for 2 of them and that includes the shipping as well. I chose light tobacco to. I love the variations in the leather. Yours is beautiful.

Sarah Martinez Yes! I absolutely looove this cover... she sent a dark brown instead which I’m totally fine with. I’m pretty impressed with the durability.

Great video! I totally agree with everything you said! I love my mahogany TN from Tanya and I plan on getting an A5 cover for my Hobonichi because it’s so lightweight & beautiful! Absolutely love her work ! She’s also so sweet and accommodating!

I'm so excited as I'm now waiting for mine. I ordered the Jibun Techo b6 folio. I adore the colour and it was the pocket that made me fall in love too. I'll definitely be ordering again! Love these so much I can't wait!

I felt the same way about the parallel lines when it comes to the elastic. I ordered without and quickly realized I would like the elastic more!

I’ve ordered many handmade things from the Ukraine. They all seem to pay attention to detail and work very fast. I just delt with a shop on Etsy and ordered 3 covers. it took 3 months to get my order and when I got it one of them wasn’t what I ordered. She remade and shipped me a new one but I waited another 2 weeks to get the right one. Very frustrating.
That is crazy frustrating! I know Tanya has to shut her shop down to keep up with orders but it’s good that she knows her limits. So she doesn’t end up in a situation that you experienced with the other maker.
Ah. I missed the window of opportunity for this last order! You chose such a lovely color. I’m excited to see how all the folios work out!

Oh interesting that that is the standard/narrow size. When I messaged her she didn't think she made that size and said to order a A5 slim and she would adjust. Is yours a true standard narrow size? If so, I will look again when she reopens.
Oh wow! So you made me curious and I went back to check the listing I purchased. Nowhere in the listing did she use the normal terms we’re familiar with (standard/regular/narrow/Midori). Instead, the listing said “Traveler’s Notebook Cover” and the description said “sized to specifically fit the Traveler’s notebook 21x11x2cm”. I think some things get lost in translation. I noticed that she lists her Hobonichi Weeks covers as B6 Slim. So I would recommend looking at the description to confirm the actual measurements!

Beautiful South Western vibe cover Sarah. I so love and enjoy your very thorough and well thought out reviews. I would love to have an A5 stringless cover that would fit the Leuchtturm1917 notebook. If you could please elaborate on how you use the pockets as well for ideas? Is this cover floppy? does it scratch easily? TIA xo
Thank you, Cynthia! I’m just keeping a pen in the outer pocket. I’m keeping my setups VERY simple to start with. I may do something like add a small embellishment/photo/decoration to the interior secretarial pockets. The cover is pretty floppy. I find it to be similar in structure to the CS Waypoint. I don’t think it scratches too easily. I really have to dig my nail in but then I feel like it blends in well. Since it’s waxed leather, I can rub scratches out with my finger as well. Because the leather is soft, it does tend to indent easily-like if you’re clipping a pen to the outer pocket, the clip will indent the leather.
@@sarahmartinezjournals Thank you for the reply. I would love to see you do a review on how your covers with stand pressure of usage over time as well. I really believe this is why CS has the corner market on their products because they discuss not only the purpose of the design but why certain leathers are what they are being used for. I only have a CS Creme Wide so far but my heart was set on the Maverick for the A5 due to its thicker and heavier quality as you discussed. I don't subscribe to a lot of others but I do believe you are one of the best and I appreciate your reviews and opinions. XO
Yes! I love your insights! I’m hoping to use all my folios continuously in the new year so I can show how they hold up over time. CS will always be my first love! And the TNs I have from there have weathered my life so well after all these months! Thank you so much for your feedback❤️

I’m completely enticed. I’m actually NEEDING (can you imagine!) a leather cover for my Mega Weeks for 2019. I used it for my work planner last year and it worked beautifully. I want to treat it to a lively leather cover. I’ll be checking her out. Our leather likes are pretty much on the same page. Thanks for a great video.

I'm still waiting on my TN Standard in Mahogany and am soooo excited! I placed that order and took a quick break to "think" blah .. go back a few hours later and shop is closed. So, i'm going to be ordering an A6 for my Hobonichi and am also interested in a weeks cover. WHY AREN'T THERE MORE REVIEW VIDEOS SO I CAN MAKE UP MY MIND LOL?!! Please, y'all who have already received your orders, pretty please review your stuff :-) So, anyway... I have a question, hopefully someone here knows, but would i be able to fit a Hobonichi Weeks and a Jibun Techo B6 slim into a b6 slim cover from her shop? I'd rather not have to order 2 ... thanks!!

Just recived my Jibun Techo. The fit is perfect and the leatther is supple. Quite a lot of colour variation in the tobacco. Shipped quickly to uk.

Just ordered an A5 in light tobacco for my Hobonichi! I hadn't ordered for the same reason you didn't. We have leather in common, I adore chrome tanned and oil tanned and tend to stay away from veg. I dont know whether to thank you for the enabling or send you a bill for the notebook! 😂😂😂 Great video as always!

I saw that! She wrote me and said that she had to close up so you all should be safe from spending money for now😂 And omg is that what Horween Dublin feels like?? I’m not very leather savvy but I’ve seen Horween Dublin listed on the Makers South site. I need to be able to touch all the leathers!
I’ve never felt Dublin, but it sure looks like it. I saw the leather that speckled fawns was offering and I regret not picking it up.
I’ve ordered 2 (B6) notebooks from her and ordered 2 more (A5) over this weekend. I love her leather and craftsmanship so much! So fun to see this here.

How long did it take to get here? Did you have any customs issues? Any fees to pay?
It took about 2 weeks to deliver once it shipped. I recently got another order and it was the same. Both orders seemed like they were “stuck” at one point with no tracking updates for about 10 days. I’m assuming they were sitting in customs each time. No extra fees to pay on my end!

Stringy elastic is amazing! I can’t stand the elastic foxy and chic Sparrow are using. It digs into my leather😕 It looks very well conditioned for veg leather. I have seen the other unboxing and the pockets are very cool! I’m still waiting on Chic Sparrow to change their pocket configuration 😂 Here’s hoping 🤞🏼 Enjoy!
I always thought I didn’t like the firmer elastics but now I don’t know why. This one is obviously more gentle with the leather but still keeps it closed! Omg I saw the IG post from CS of the different pockets and reinforced spine 😱

It just arrived 2 days ago!! The mahogany is spectacular! I still have to record a video today. I don’t know if I’ll post the video tonight or tomorrow but I’ll slip in the mahogany to show 😂.

Honestly, I thought the A6 would be too square of a shape for me but it is just the most adorable and perfect little thing. I carry it it my purse already even though I’m waiting to use the notebook until 2019😂😂

What leather and color is that leather from meadovegateleather? I have 2 from Mike before but the dark Brown was beautiful 😍 is it stift and hard?
It is his Dark Forest leather😊. It only comes in the one color. It has a bit of structure to it but it isn’t fully stiff. The pockets on the inside make it much more structured but the single layer on the spine makes it bend and fold over easily.
