well, when you're from the city, you don't pay too much mind to other people's frustration in a public setting usually. they're arguing with someone or ranting to someone at a front desk/cashier/employee/on a phone, meh, it's not your problem. They're crying by themselves, sitting alone, standing sulking in the corner, not staring at you or anyone else really, Okay, whatever. That's what someone means they didn't think much of it. a situation that happens quite often that's not really your business you don't think about it at that moment. It's not until something else happens that makes you think back to the moment you saw that person or event in question because at the time it was so ordinary, but is in connection with something that isn't.
As I've recently had eye surgery on both eyes and can barely see I want to say how much I appreciate how often you post and the quality of your stories. Your channel has practically been my only entertainment. Thank you @Let's Read. ❤

@@Sinvention I did. It was very scary. My hotel was in the back of the building and facing the parking lot/road. There were a ton of sketchy characters walking around.
@@RajaMCool I absolutely hate having to stay at places like that. When I was moving and driving cross country for school, I didn't have money to stay in a hotel room, so I parked in the parking lots and would sleep on the tail gate of my truck with my two dogs laying down next to me. One night I was also at a sketchy motel, and this guy came down the stairs, peeked around the corner and saw me laying down and started to walk to my truck and around it right towards me and my 6 month old husky just started started barking and going absolutely wild at this guy and he ran off.
@@Sinvention I was driving home long-distance from my brother’s house. He lives 800 miles from me. I had to take a hotel on the way. There weren’t many options available. Ended up staying in a very seedy motel in the middle of nowhere. Random people were walking around in the back. I asked the hotel staff if it was safe to stay and they said “it’s not the best but definitely not the worst.” I can only imagine what the worst looks like.
I used to work I. Cleaning and decontamination once got called to hotel were a man had committed suicide they wanted the suite guest ready because they had a vip coming that night. Kinda messed up they had no clue less than 24 hours before there visit a man had blown his brains out in that exact room.
nice voice in delivery of the stories, helps one picture the story in ones mind while one listens, like the old radio shows that families listened to in the 40s and 30s, no tv.
The story about the Cecil Hotel was shocking. I knew some bad things had happened there like Elisa Lam's story. I just never realised there had been that many murders and suicides. Kind of reminded me of the movie 1408 which was also based off a novel written by Stephen King. I don't think I'll ever stay at that hotel. But it's quite an interesting story.
If you didn't know, American horror story season 5, Hotel is loosely based on the Cecil and H.H Holmes ( and interestingly Elizabeth Bathory thrown in as well) 🙂
Hello there, I just wanted to let you know that your RUclips stories have helped me get through some really bad and hard situations on my life. Your voice is so soothing and I love the stories even if they scare me. Thank you for the amazing content I've been listening the past 4 years!
Yea I got chills when he mentioned Elisa Lam. Something about Elisa’s case and that elevator footage is so unsettling due to how mysterious the circumstances are and how many aspects of it simply have no logical explanation
Maybe she was also stabbed, it just wasn't mentioned. But what I don't get is how he knew this woman had been strangled, generally police/detectives don't release this kind of information to the public after finding a dead body.
@@SNixon14 they didn't put up any police tape and let people walk around near the crime scene so im shore they just said what happened as if it was general conversation.

I’ve done a fair bit of research on HH Holmes and I haven’t heard most of this before. The children were killed in different rental homes all over the place. Not at the murder castle
I got chills upon the mention of Elisa Lam. There is something so off about her story, especially having seen the footage. You forgot to mention that Elisa can be seen in the footage mashing the close-door buttons yet the elevator door mysteriously doesn’t close. This means either the footage is somehow misleading in some way, or someone outside was pressing the button keeping it open, or some other-worldly force that our human logic can’t explain...all of these possibilities are unsettling to me. I definitely find it hard to believe she took her own life.

If you watch the netflix documentary about the Cecil, the guy who found her never actually said he opened the hatch of the water tank she was in and it was a miscommunication between him and the officer that was interviewing him. I recommend giving it a watch, it really gives light to the start of the conspiracy while answering some of the unanswered questions!
Strangulation hangings are not as painful as is often thought. Unconsciousness can occur within a matter of seconds, as the blood supply to the brain is cut off, asphyxia follows later.
in the netflix documentary about elise's death, it is brought up that she had a history of crawling into small dark places when in destress so it would fit that she climbed into the water tank without realising that it would be dangerous and she wouldn't be able to get out. there was an issue with the whole 'hatch was closed behind her' but that was incorrectly stated by the police in a press conference and the hatch was actually open. its a tragic story but all things point to her not taking enough medication and becoming destressed and looking for a place to hide.
Hummmm no it doesn't, things just don't add up. She wouldn't have been strong enough to remove the lid and place it back on top off her. Why sniffing dogs lost trace of her? It looks like someone was carrying her dead or unconscious body that's why they could find her smell. People with mental illness can also be victim of foul play, y'know!
@@melodiechartier5173 yeah i know they can be. but literally everything points to her climbing in herself. there also seemed to be issues with the hotel staff which meant that they were negligent in the security of the building meaning that the door to the roof may have been unlocked. also the police did not search properly becuase they looked on the roof but never looked in the water tank. there were many factors at play but the conclusion was an unfortunate accident.
