We had a similar incident last year where a young officer (26) went to help people who's vehicle was in the ditch. As he was walking toward the vehicle, he was ambushed and killed not even having the chance to draw his weapon. Unfortunately, this was the young officer's 1st day on the job by himself after doing his probational training. There's still a wreath and a cross there. Every week I go to the same gas station to get my gas, and at the last corner where I make my turn, straight across the road is that memorial. I think of how sad his life and career were snuffed out so young, with his whole life ahead of him. (Happened in Canada.) Cops are usually pretty laid back unless there is immediate knowledge of a suspicious suspect. The suspect truck in the ditch was later found to be stolen, and the suspect was too easily ( pitied ) granted bail twice recent to this incident for previous crimes. Since that happened, and 8 other officers being killed previously the same year, the catch and release bail system is being changed so this doesn't happen to cops or citizens of violent crimes. Hopefully !
🇺🇲WOW I'm so glad the officers are both ok, Even just watching it on RUclips my heart rate went up when he got ahold of her and she was screaming God bless the two of them ❤🙏
This is why officer should always work in a minimum group of two. I feel that a lot of officers get into unnecessary danger because they don't have the necessary street smart, common sense, and wisdom. This officer should have quietly requested backup before she approached the man in the dark. Since it was not an emergency, she shouldn't have approach him by herself.
She had her hands around his gun pushing it down, leaving her no free hand to pull her own gun. He then pulled a second gun up, but the second cop showed up and shot him at that point.
@DestinyR7 I feel you. cPTSD patient here. That scream shook my core. It's a primitive sound that a human only makes when looking death right in the eyes.. absolutely horrifying. The way she was treated afterwards angers me so much too.
That woman should not be a cop. She is not fit, and she didn't follow proper police protocol, which put her life in danger. At the very least, she needs more training.
It's true that she likely didn't follow protocol, however, she likely was caught off guard in the situation and mistakenly did that. Cut her some slack. She probably has ptsd from the event so relax. She's human and likely just made a mistake. She may have been too casual about the encounter. If she was a young or inexperienced officer, I'm sure that can happen sometimes. It doesn't mean she intentionally did something wrong. It's not your call to say she shouldn't be on the force after seeing 1 incident.
I'd argue that the lack of following protocol in this situation looks like it provided exactly the time needed for her to have backup in the shooting situation. There's no way that dude was gonna get out of the car. Things probably would have escalated much faster had she tried to get the guy out of there and she would have been without any help. Those minutes of stalling and searching for non-existent license/registration/records pushed back an inevitable escalation of violence to a critical moment when the officer wasn't alone anymore. Dilly-dallying and keeping a suspect as neutral & calm as possible while waiting for backup sounds like it could be a legit strategy to me.
It depends on what you mean by fit? If, this was someone black, she would have had a gun already out and the threats in the brutality would have started. They always find a way to do this kind of abuse the innocent black people, but you see who ends up killing them and that someone White..
Well, coulda been that she saw him as just another overall good guy and all she needed was to giver him a word of advise or just a ticket & sent him on his way, or this his a montage directp-to-RUclips video.🧐
Put her partner in danger by not paying attention, receive paid leave, sue for trauma, reapply for same job and then file a lawsuit for being discriminated against. Probably about to file for unemployment or disability next. 🤥🤭
Read a lot of comments on here, yes, she is a police officer, but also a human being, as someone who worked in a forensic ward I have witnessed numerous incidents where lesser experienced staff got upset, never once would anyone be belittled or reminded "its their job, so suck it up"
that is not why she got fired. She could have got her partner killed, especially if he showed up to find her body instead of a suspect in cuffs; and her suspect on the loose to kill again, maybe hiding behind that car to kill her backup officer, too, hello? She has to face the truth before she can succeed at any job let alone this one. She is young, she will be fine.
Why would you approach lonely car in the middle of nowhere when it's dark knowing that you're alone? Aren't they supposed to be careful about ambush and stuff? Even average person won't walk close that knowing they are alone let alone someone who is trained for it. It's quite predictable lonely car in the middle of nowhere ain't safe, if she really wanted to investigate that much could have just waited for backup.
She was completely incompetent in every regard during the interaction. None of the other details matter. There is so much she did wrong. Whoever her FTO was, probably only sent her forward for obvious reasons. She had no business doing the job.
Oh dear god, those screams make we cry. That’s terrifying. I’m so sorry that happened to her. That’s so wrong. Thank god the other officer showed up when they did.
It is not pointless, as a retired LEO most women officers are fine when there is no issue but are not an asset when it comes down to anything physical or being aggressive when needed. If a male officer needs assistance and a female officer shows up then it is not much help. Female officers call for back up 3 times more than male officers and are more apt to use deadly physical force because they are over powered by the suspects more than the male officers. Bottom line, they do not have the warrior trait and physical strength as a male officer. The male officers used to complain about having to baby sit the females. Remember, physical standards were almost eliminated because the females could not pass the physical fitness testing. That in itself should tell you the differences and vulnerabilities.

It sounds like her department needs to learn a lesson or two. **edit: What I meant by "How could her department do that to her" was for the allegations of harassment and not coming to her aid as back up when she needs it on calls. If that's true, then it's really terrible to do to someone. I completely agree that if she's having PTSD and not ready to be out on patrol then she shouldn't be out on patrol. Period. That is a huge danger to her coworkers, herself and the civilians she's supposed to protect. But on the other hand, there are lots of other jobs police officers are needed for other then street patrol. She could do a desk job or a lot of courts have the local police as bailiffs. I dunno. If her allegations of the really garbage treatment are true then that's what is disgusting to me. She was thisclose to making that ultimate sacrifice. They’re literally saving her life… also if someone reacts like THAT while on duty, they are putting EVERYONES life in danger including YOURS. Imagine calling the police and this woman shows up to help you…. Especially with her suffering from PTSD she just crumbles under pressure.
From my experience male cops love teasing female cops and making them feel like garbage. Yes,they adore that. That's "because women are good for effing cooking and cleaning not law enforcement!"🤬

It’s less to do with training. Tactically she was in a really bad situation. Like she said if she removed her hand to grab her own firearm she likely would have been shot and killed.
@@Stumpyboyshe should have told him to turn the car off and immediately asked if he has weapons he would definitely be suspicious at that point so she should have asked him to exit the vehicle slowly, awhile ready to reach for her pistol if he makes any sudden movements. Training does not prepare you for something routine immediately turning into a legitimate threat. the fact that the subject was able to be subdued long enough for backup is a miracle.

Absolutely. Imagine being In life threatening danger and you call 911, then you feel safer when you hear the police arrive and suddenly you hear the officer screaming just like any random untrained civilian and even saying "I'll leave". She had a gun on her waist the entire time but was too stuck in 'begging mode' to remember any of her training.
She did force that guy's hand back in car. He was sitting, she was standing using 2 hands and he couldn't get control of the gun to use it. So, he reached for the 2nd gun and that hero cop like a movie shot the bad guy dead. She was brave. Saved herself and got the bad guy killed. She reacted instantaneously pushing the gun down, holding it down using both hands. It prevented the bad guy from killing her. It also gave time for the 2nd cop to kill him. If she did not fight back grabbing his gun instantaneously, she would be dead. The 2nd cop may have been shot at for sure, too. Because she was brave and resourceful she held the guy's hand down, and she, in effect, got him killed. If she let go, the guy even told her "If you let go,"" "No, no, no!" she screams. If she did not hold down his hand both cops could be dead.
Her guard instantly dropped when she saw it was a white guy that popped up. Big mistake 😂 "I just have to make sure that you don't have any warrants or anything... Which I'm sure you don't" that was a wrap for me haha

@@kenw2225 No, it is lasting and unresolved psychological damage. "It's easy to say what should've been done in hindsight"
(Happened in Canada.)
Cops are usually pretty laid back unless there is immediate knowledge of a suspicious suspect.
Hopefully !

And you need a heart
It depends on what you mean by fit? If, this was someone black, she would have had a gun already out and the threats in the brutality would have started. They always find a way to do this kind of abuse the innocent black people, but you see who ends up killing them and that someone White..

That they've fired her for getting PTSD from this incident is insane!!
that is not why she got fired.
Aren't they supposed to be careful about ambush and stuff? way to bring pointless gender into it i guess@@ThomasSawyers
