The Unfinished version of Akatsuki is indeed one of Su’s most emotionally delivered numbers. It’s much more than that though. As an event in BabyMetal lore, and as the second to the last song in the Legend of 1997 show, the unfinished version sets the context for the closer “BabyMetal Death.” The last line of the song is not sung, hence unfinished. Su has been called upon by The Fox God to sacrifice the teen girl life that she loves in order to be reborn as a metal goddess to lead the metal resistance. So Jamie, before you react to BabyMetal Death rewatch Akatsuki (unfinished) to get your head set for the spectacle. From their early stuff this is by far my favorite song. Like it ditches all the gimmicks and just goes for perfection. Don't get me wrong, i like the rest, but this would stand out on its own merit
Akatsuki actually means RED MOON and as Kevin said, the U isnt spoken. If you're more into Su's voice, try Akatsuki UNfinished version (thats basically Ballad style without the metal). Suzuka sings her very heart out in that one! Some songs are Su solos, some (Black Babymetal) are the other two(Yui and Moa). Simply because they need short breaks from time to time. Imagine dancin the whole show! You would be DEAD! And in Love with Su? Who isn't? She's a beauty and her stage-present is from another world! *AKATSUKI (Crimson Moon)* Going over thousands of nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love. Shining in the depths of the eyes, the moon is about to cry. Red tears overflow and dye the night sky. In the silence, the two damaged blades stand face to face. Our loneliness and our uneasiness slash even our hearts. Going over thousands of nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love. In the passage of time, I keep my eyes shut. Even if the red thread flowing in my hand breaks, I still feel we are tied. In the silence, I hold the damaged blade face to face. My loneliness and my uneasiness, I slash, even my heart, now. Going over thousands of nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears someday... Going over thousands of nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love. Dye crimson! Dye bloody crimson! Translation by DU-METAL
I feel like not a lot of people point out how much the band seems to enjoy the shows too (outside of their solos), I mean, in this video you can clearly see Aoyama -I'm pretty sure is him, it could be Maeta but I doubt it- (the drummer) lip-singing at some points in the back, the same goes for the rest in different concerts and tbh I really love it.
I've been to quite a few shows in Japan and every single one of them I've been able to spot a member of a different band who was scheduled for the night in the crowd singing along. When I saw yonige live they had mowmow lulu gyuban opening for them and the pairing completely confused me, but then halfway through mowmow's set i saw the lead singer from yonige like 10 feet away from me singing every word and totally just having fun. It was badass

You will run out of Su solos very quickly at this rate - we need to get you back to songs with all 3 girls - or maybe point you at a couple of the 'Black BABYMETAL' songs with just Yui and Moa duetting without Su. There are four of them - '4 No Uta', 'Onedari Daisakusen', 'GJ' and 'Sis Anger'. You are absolutely right, every single person involved in the BABYMETAL team is at the top of their game from Su, Yui and Moa (or Su, Moa and the Avengers now of course), the Kami Band (past and present, east and west now), Mikiko the choreographer, the writers, set designers, Koba the producer and anybody else he uses.
Bkack BABYMETAL would be kool to react to. Yui and moe are awsome in their own also. Song 4 and onedare saikasuken are also songs. Sis Anger is heavy as fuck.
Ah power ballad number 2, don't waste them all right away there are only about 5 of them. Most of the ballads don't have the girls, it is the mid show break for them they are in back cooling down with ice packs. Then there are a few songs with just the 2 girls and Su is taking her break. Notice how hot she is getting in that cape and those flames. There is a video with the English lyrics, that will make you cry for sure, I cant watch it if I have been drinking..

I'm still enjoying the beginning of your Babymetal journey. Keep it up! Now I'm going to go watch the Unfinished version of this song and feel some real emotions 🦊🦊🦊
although every performance of this song is good, but my top pick would be the version they perform at "BM World Tour in Japan : Dark Night Carnival in 2018" simply bcoz of the fighting scene by "Duo Muscle Metal" during Ohmura(with Mikio's brown guitar) & Isao solo. it's so epic & unforgetable. This song is another tribute to X-Japan song "Kurenai",..in Kanji Akatsuki("紅月") means Red(Aka) Moon(Tsuki) & has a reading Kurenai("紅"). also there's the Kanji ("暁") read as Akatsuki, means Dawn & Kurenai means Crimson Moon,.. the intro, chorus, duel guitar solo, bass beat & drum tempo very similiar to X-Japan song "Kurenai" & "Silent Jealousy",... X-Japan are living legend & a pioneers in Visual Kei Movement (similiar to Western Glam Rock). many bands, musicians & artist count them as an influence & look up to them. their music is like a "Bible" & even in Japanese Music Industry, everything is divided by the words "Before X" & "After X",.. if you curious & want to react to their song, i suggest,.: ) X - Kurenai ruclips.net/video/1bvREd9ZQVQ/видео.html ) X - Silent Jealousy ruclips.net/video/g7ycbtU3rj4/видео.html both song is from the show "X on the Verge of Destruction Live at Tokyo Dome 1992". the last time they perform under the name's "X", before the band changed their name to "X-Japan"
Another great react from the boy wonder. In each show there are songs where Su does a solo so the other girls can take a break and there are songs without Su so she can take a break. The best example is GJ!. If you like Su doing solos then you have to watch Amore which is stunning from the very first note. Next should be Karate the official video.
@@CypherReacts Great, when you do Karate make sure it is the official video. And as I said Amore which is also a solo by Su is what I consider the best solo. The opening is just stunning.
Love it when someone falls in love with BabyMetal and comes under or Queen and Goddess Su's power . You noticed the eyes it was the Legendary death stare. You mentioned Su's age when you looked on computer in case it said 22 years old this is old footage she was 16 in this performance . BTW the guitars Moa and Yui played when they performed with Rob Halford from Judas Priest were ESP Small Arrow. They have an inlay in fret 12 with their names "Yui-Metal" and "Moa-Metal". Saw even one with "Su-Metal" and "Babymetal" Theres a video of this performance in youtube too and an interview with BM and Rob!!! Now you know why we call Suzuka "The Metal Queen"
I guess it's time for you to start learning names... That glittery guitar is called Pink-Chan, it's a custom 7 string ESP. He may look a little odd next to a black flying V but let me assure you, he is quite a regular on the BABYMETAL stage...
Some of their songs have just Su Metal and others have just Yui & Moa Metal singing in it. If you ever get a chance to watch one of their full performances you will hear many more songs that do not show up on their youtube channel as individuals. They just put up a few of their full live performances as part of their Stay Home, Stay Metal live streams. Check them out! Plus alot has changed within the band from these videos, Yui Metal has left the band to pursue her own solo career after she had some medical issues and Mikio Fujioka (Ko-Gami) of the Kami Band (The backing band) died in 2017. Sense then they have 3 new background dancers that are taking turns on stage with Su and Moa until they pick one of the three to be in the band. They have yet to sing but they all come from other Japanese Idol bands.
I'm always endlessly impressed by her stage presence. For a tiny Japanese girl, she's not dwarfed by the massive stage with pyrotechnics, or shown up by the music; no matter how good your staging is, if you don't fill that stage it won't be as impressive. And she's always laser focused, every move feels intentional, and do I need to mention her eyes? Her piercing voice is my favorite, it's actually not easy doing a pure straight tone like she does even for a single song, much less an entire concert.
Great reaction again. This song really shows why SU is our queen! Check out the unfinished of this song as well, a bit different ...but make sure you have your napkins ready! :) They've been around for 10 years now (in october). :)

Hey, just here to tell you that your Road of Resistance reaction came up in my recommended, and I'm so glad I can join you in this channel. Your videos are some of the best reactions I've seen, they mirror my own in many ways. I fell into the foxhole 3 weeks ago about as fast as you are falling right now. Jamie, Babymetal do this Rock Opera style so well. Su style is drawn from the Kabuki theatre tradition , very dramatic moves and looks.. They are taking over where Freddie and Queen left off. Also note the harmony solos have the Queen sound. Also Brian may presented them with Best International Touring Act Hammer Award. For 2 years running mind you. Koba metal is the the producer and creator of this act/ Genius ! He is seen in one video there at a live festival clip , sweeping the rainwater off the stage , before the girls go on. A team effort as Japan does so well.
This is another Su-metal solo song..... in earlier years BABYMETAL performances often lasted up to 90 minutes... so to give the girls a break Su might sing one or maybe two songs without the other girls... and they (Yui and Moa) would similarly have their own solo song to give Su a break. Nowadays unfortunately BABYMETAL shows only last around 60 minutes.... so the solo songs aren't needed so much :(
I like your reactions to Babymetal as it's like reliving what I went through when I discovered them. That concert took place on March 2014 so Suzuka was was 16 years old at that time (and the other two were 14) but she had already quite some experience already. As have you noticed with Rondo of Nightmare Suzuka has a few solo songs and the other two girls (Yui and Moa) also have some songs that they perform without Suzuka. I'm on the same opinion that the whole thing is so very well produced with the right people doing a phenomenal job but I think Suzuka is the one making this whole thing work, as she's the main singer, has a strong stage presence and is an amazing performance. I don't know japanese as well but I love this song and even if you don't understand the words her performance is good enough she's able to transmit emotion just by the way she sings. So you have to really appreciate Suzuka's solos as they enable her to go all out in her singing and the songs to be more 'serious' (to describe it in a way) and a little less weird. I also have to say that Babymetal is one of those bands that sound better live because of how they perform and all the elements they bring to their live performances. I would like you to also react to some songs they performed in their a concert called 'Legend 1997' (It's a concert in honor to the year Suzuka was born). They have Megitsune, Headbanger, Ijime Dame Zettai,Catch Me If You Can and Death. This concert in particular (the one with the circular plataform that is spinnig) took place in Budokan stage and it was in March 2014 while Legend 1997 was in December 2013. By this time they already had some experience performing as Babymetal but it's around this time when their concerts and production value got to the next level and you see this huge arenas but even in smaller venues their performances always pack a punch.

You can hear Su pronounce the song in the very beginning when she shouts "Akatsuki Da!", the "u" is silent and it sounds like "Akat'ski". "U" following an "s" is often silent, which is why her name has the hyphen, Su-metal, where Moametal and Yuimetal do not. The hyphen indicates to pronounce the "u" They have outdone themselves on stages, check out "Pa Pa Ya" to see what their latest setup is. Or "Da Da Dance"

I like how you added that section where you said that this is your favorite babymetal song, I'm the same. Akatsuki is definitely my favorite song from them.
What you are doing at your age is just fine but you are right het ability to perform at such a high level of perfection is in itself amazing but to do it in front of gigantic crowds leaves us all.in awe. Yes you probably are falling in love with her let's face it everyone else in the world has and even now as a young woman of 22years old she's as amazing as ever and just ad loveable. She is remarkable and truly unique. The best part is that despite everything she seems to be emotionally stable and not traveling down any pathways of self destruction. I don't know iff she is a Christian but she always wore a crucifix when she was young and perhaps that's how she keeps it all in perspective because there's probably just as many people worshipping her as there are worshipping GOD.
Awesome reaction! I thought I had seen all of your Babymetal reactions. Idk how I missed this. I'll have to go back through and check now. I'd give this one a second thumbs up if I could. Keep em comin.

At 2:40, those lighting effects you love really are perfectly timed to be Heavenly Blue while Su sings the beautiful and moving first part and then change to Hell Red as her whole face, demeanour and voice changes to the more powerful second part. We do love our Queen of Metal's Death Stare when she's commanding mosh pits or, like here, throwing her heart and soul into the song. I was thinking, as you've done 2 Su solos and 2 full trio songs, if you're interested in seeing a Yui and Moa duet (the other two girls, obviously!), cos they have 4 of them and they're all great fun. Guarantee this one will cheer up the place and make you smile - and it's great Metal Rap, a bit like (but obviously much better than) Limp Bizkit: It's called Onedari Daisakusen , which means approximately Operation Beg Dad (for cash) and is about how young girls twist their dads around their little fingers - cute and adorable - and absolutely slamming! ruclips.net/video/VQ9qBj_KqR8/видео.html . Stay safe.
There is a softer version of Akatsuki where Su sings with just a piano. That's the one that gets people teary eyed, not this version. It's called Akatsuki (unfinished) ruclips.net/video/zS-gB0wYeM0/видео.html It's an absolutely beautiful song and worth checking out. The actual song starts at about 0:55 if you want to skip the introduction. Akatsuki is such a great song. There are some performances where they incorporate choreographed ninja like fights into the song which adds a whole new dimension to the performance art.
This song always has been my #1 from the first time I heard it back in 2015 .. it is unfuckingbelievable. No Rain No Rainbow #2 and Syncopation #3 .. Rondo .. Road Of Resistance .. Headbanger .. Ijime, Dame, Zettai at Sonisphere that moment is when BabyMetal Blew up all over the world. These 2 shows red and black night 97 & 99 is what made them legit .
Lovely choice but you're not getting enough Moa and Yui in your diet. Try to consume something like the well-balanced and highly nutritional trio in such yummy and exciting flavours as Headbanger live Legend 97 (NOW THAT'S AN EPIC HUGE STAGE!) - ruclips.net/video/YjjWZpf_jSs/видео.html or the delicious and massively iconic first UK appearance in front of 65,000 Metal fans at Sonisphere - ruclips.net/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/видео.html .
I love your reaction. This is truly a great song. When you have a fantastic singer backed by a killer band, the result is breathtaking. Babymetal has lots of terrific songs and they're all unique which is great. You have a lot of fun ground to cover. I would suggest Syncopation and Yava. Keep up the good work.
When it comes to stages, especially the marquee performances, say what you want about Amuse (their management), they know how to leverage their experience. They've been putting on cutting edge shows with Perfume for years (ruclips.net/video/MhE4x1mR4Vw/видео.html) who the also share their choreographer with. They also manage One OK Rock, maybe the biggest active rock band in Japan and you can see from their shows the intent to provide an "experience" (ruclips.net/video/i7seozLvbHw/видео.html) just as Babymetal do. Of course this isn't limited to just these few, with Japan being the second biggest market for music in the world (No.1 per capita?) there's a lot of good and even great acts to discover in all genres. PS. You should watch the performance of this song at Wembley Arena from 2016, it's cracking.
You like that stage? It's not even the full stage haha. Go check out their channel for the "Stay Home" live stream from the 2016 Tokyo Dome tour finale. Also, on the 10th of May, they will be live streaming their Wembley concert. #stayhome

The acoustic Unfinished Version of this song is Su-'s most emotionally raw performance if you really want to shed a tear. TT
For sure! She could melt a glacier there!
Su has been called upon by The Fox God to sacrifice the teen girl life
that she loves in order to be reborn as a metal goddess to lead the metal resistance.
So Jamie, before you react to BabyMetal Death rewatch Akatsuki (unfinished) to get your head set for the spectacle.

She is incredible performer!! She's in a league of her own!! Got more on the way still!
Akatsuki in Japanese means dawn or daybreak, but is written with the Kanji of red moon. And has that deliberate double meaning in this song.
That’s so f*cking awesome!

Great reaction again! and yes this song is just amazing everything is on point! The music, the kick ass solo's the drums, the bass and of cours the beautiful voice of Su-Metal it's incredible to think she was only 16 years old on that time! It's amazing! Kitsune up!!, 🤘🦊🤘

What a performance at that age!!
Woah nice reaction! HEhe, there's still so much more babymetal songs that can blow you away.
More on the way!!! Share the video out!! Let’s get Su herself to see one of my reactions! 😂😂
On many days, my favorite BABYMETAL song.
*AKATSUKI (Crimson Moon)*
Going over thousands of nights,
some love shall survive.
So, until my body perishes,
until my life disappears,
I shall keep on cherishing this love.
Shining in the depths of the eyes,
the moon is about to cry.
Red tears overflow
and dye the night sky.
In the silence,
the two damaged blades stand face to face.
Our loneliness and our uneasiness
slash even our hearts.
Going over thousands of nights,
some love shall survive.
So, until my body perishes,
until my life disappears,
I shall keep on cherishing this love.
In the passage of time,
I keep my eyes shut.
Even if the red thread flowing in my hand breaks,
I still feel we are tied.
In the silence,
I hold the damaged blade face to face.
My loneliness and my uneasiness,
I slash, even my heart,
now.
Going over thousands of nights,
some love shall survive.
So, until my body perishes,
until my life disappears someday...
Going over thousands of nights,
some love shall survive.
So, until my body perishes,
until my life disappears,
I shall keep on cherishing this love.
Dye crimson! Dye bloody crimson!

I love it when he and Moa try to crack each other up.

When I saw them on this last tour, even the touring crew looked top notch.
Good stuff mate. Been enjoying your stuff, you're one of the better reactors out there. anything you need or having trouble with the copyright bot let us know. we have experience, and tools to help with that.
dude!! You have not Idea how much copyright has been a problem on my channel!! Would be so good to be able to have more of my videos monetised to help me out!! I'll take all the tips and tricks you got!!
I'm still enjoying the beginning of your Babymetal journey. Keep it up!
Now I'm going to go watch the Unfinished version of this song and feel some real emotions 🦊🦊🦊
Hell yeah!! I’m glad that you’ve joined us!! It’s a crazyyyyy journey!!
although every performance of this song is good, but my top pick would be the version they perform at "BM World Tour in Japan : Dark Night Carnival in 2018" simply bcoz of the fighting scene by "Duo Muscle Metal" during Ohmura(with Mikio's brown guitar) & Isao solo. it's so epic & unforgetable.
X-Japan are living legend & a pioneers in Visual Kei Movement (similiar to Western Glam Rock). many bands, musicians & artist count them as an influence & look up to them. their music is like a "Bible" & even in Japanese Music Industry, everything is divided by the words "Before X" & "After X",..
if you curious & want to react to their song, i suggest,.:
) X - Kurenai
ruclips.net/video/1bvREd9ZQVQ/видео.html
) X - Silent Jealousy
ruclips.net/video/g7ycbtU3rj4/видео.html
both song is from the show "X on the Verge of Destruction Live at Tokyo Dome 1992". the last time they perform under the name's "X", before the band changed their name to "X-Japan"
Please do next Babymetal Death legend 1997 live, their best show imo.
It's a perfect performance for those of us who are infatuated with Su and her talent. Lol
Another great react from the boy wonder. In each show there are songs where Su does a solo so the other girls can take a break and there are songs without Su so she can take a break. The best example is GJ!. If you like Su doing solos then you have to watch Amore which is stunning from the very first note. Next should be Karate the official video.
Boy Wonder!! I like that!! haha I do wanna do Karate but I've got one lined up already
Theres so much more to see from BabyMetal and remember all there songs are different so be prepared for the unexpected . Looking forward to next reaction to them . Mentioned there first festival here it is part of BabyMetal lore .

😍😍😍 I’m obsessed with the guitars Peter! I’m such a guitar nerd! 😍😍
Haha, that made me laugh! Nice!
I’m so glad my dude!!!
They've been around for 10 years now (in october). :)
Excellent review. You catch a lot of the great things about BM, the band, and Sumetal our queen.

Everybody loves Su-Metal, if you want to cry, check out the Sakura Gakuin Suzuka Nakamoto Graduation videos.
It's WAY too early for that. He might be falling down the foxhole really fast, but that is too deep for him. Let his love for Babymetal mature for at least a couple of weeks, then he can cry his eyes out with the graduation
AKATSUKI "紅月" is one of the best songs by Babymetal; that is my most favorable song of Babymetal's.
Same!! It’s is amazinngggg
I'm also 22 and had the same reaction to Su's age lmao.
I'd recommend trying to get to know a bit more about them, seeing as you're liking them so much. Their names, for instance: Su-Metal (main singer, as you may know), Moametal and Yuimetal. Moa and Yui can be really hard to distinguish, for now you should know that Moa has dimples :P. Yui unfortunately left the band officially a short while ago, because of undisclosed health reasons... but they're still going strong!
Great reaction, best voice, best band, Su is queen

Don’t say the “u”... it’s pronounced Akatski. Sent that off before I meant to. It’s a Su solo so no Moa and Yui.
Great reaction, thx) Check Sis.Anger live at Tokyo Dome. It's duo of 2 other gilrs, while Su take a rest.
We are THE ONE!
Wait 'til you see some of their bigger stage productions. Fasten your seatbelt... you've been called out on r/babymetal.
I've been called out have I?!? I can't wait for more!!
This is another Su-metal solo song..... in earlier years BABYMETAL performances often lasted up to 90 minutes... so to give the girls a break Su might sing one or maybe two songs without the other girls... and they (Yui and Moa) would similarly have their own solo song to give Su a break. Nowadays unfortunately BABYMETAL shows only last around 60 minutes.... so the solo songs aren't needed so much :(
BabyMetal's youtube channel is airing Black Night and Red Night in their entirety tonight and tomorrow night.
Interestingggggg
If you're a big fan of their stages and live performances, I suggest watching Pa Pa Ya, the stage will blow you away even more. That's a promise.
Now that is something I like to hear!!
I just want to point out that Su-metal performing every song is just evidence that she will outlast anyone in any challenge.
I’m over the moon that you have been enjoying the content on the channel!! Really over the moon about that!! Yeah!! @@CypherReacts do it. If you ever get the chance do it. I loved it there and will always recommend that as the first place anyone visits when they get a chance to travel.
If you love SU’s voice then No Rain, No Rainbow will have you balling your eyes out
You can hear Su pronounce the song in the very beginning when she shouts "Akatsuki Da!", the "u" is silent and it sounds like "Akat'ski". "U" following an "s" is often silent, which is why her name has the hyphen, Su-metal, where Moametal and Yuimetal do not. The hyphen indicates to pronounce the "u"
They have outdone themselves on stages, check out "Pa Pa Ya" to see what their latest setup is. Or "Da Da Dance"

Ready to go! Haha

I really love this one. Actually, Akatsuki is my favorite song along with Megitsune. This performance is top for many, many reasons (do you see something familiar on my profile pic?). I'm totally into double kick drumming, also love the guitar solo duel and the dual guitar solo. And of course, the incredibly clear vocals of Suzuka... she really nails it! Stay safe.
Another banger 🔥
There is a softer version of Akatsuki where Su sings with just a piano. That's the one that gets people teary eyed, not this version. It's called Akatsuki (unfinished) ruclips.net/video/zS-gB0wYeM0/видео.html It's an absolutely beautiful song and worth checking out. The actual song starts at about 0:55 if you want to skip the introduction.
Akatsuki is such a great song. There are some performances where they incorporate choreographed ninja like fights into the song which adds a whole new dimension to the performance art.

Ijime, Dame, Zettai at Sonisphere that moment is when BabyMetal Blew up all over the world. These 2 shows red and black night 97 & 99 is what made them legit .
SU-METAL the reining queen of Metal.

Keep up the good work.
thank you so much!! Got so much more on the way so I hope that you're subscribed
#stayhome
My tears drop when I hear this song Akatsuki by BABYMETAL
Akatsuki is Babymetal's Kurenai (a very iconic j-metal song by X Japan, I highly recommend checking this one out too)
We all love Su. She is the Queen.
