Worked for me on my 75R646. Think a power outage caused the TV to get stuck on that black screen. Anyhow, its fixed now. Good tips!

Guys…… this works!!! It didn’t work the first time so I did it a second time also turning off the power on the extension cord. It worked the second time loaded the entire Home Screen!

Hi ricardo..i hve Sinotec(skywrth) 42 android tv...it started with apps crashing..n it wld restart...watch for a while and it does it again..reseted the tv ..coz i thought its software or app issues..
Now if it goes on standby with black screen after crashing i hve to unplug it .
Its a black screen that is a bit pixeleted....there is no software update..cld it be hardware issues?

Did not work for me. Had a 75 inch TCL 8 series. Lasted 16 months, then got black screen . Customer service told me no service or repair centers in USA. So, my $ 1,800.00 has gone down the drains. Customer service said the cost to repair it will be more than the price of a new TV. They recommended buying a new TV. I took their good advice and I bought a new Samsung. No more TCL, No more Chinese TV for me.
Sorry to hear, this should help out in most cases unless your TV is totally broken.

Oops. I spoke too soon. The screen came back after the power came back on. But I have no menu and the volume keeps counting down to 0. So I will unplug it overnight and see if that works.

You are a flipping genius!! Thank you. Only been using this TV for a month. Worked first time. I actually left it unplugged for 5 minutes and watched the clock to make sure I held the power button ( mine is under the front center edge of tv screen) down for a full minute. Plugged in the TV and pressed the ON button once and voila the picture is back. Whew!!!! Nice not to factory reset. All my settings etc. We're fine even remembered my wifi log in info. Thank you!!! TV did it again. Fixed again. Thank you 1/2024 update

@@bigred9428 there are videos on it, but it wipes it out. with the sharp TV the reps can "connect" to the tv and do itl

If the TCL logo flashes for a split second before going dark then it is usually either a failing main board or failing LED. Try lowering the brightness in the settings from brightest down to brighter or normal.

Worked exactly as you said! I never knew power button was there- always just used remote.

TCL is the worst TV I have had. Screen started to appear red and green lines after couple months, then more and more lines appeared on screen every year, till the lines covered more than half of the screen, now finally its all black😂 I won't buy anything that has a screen on the product from TCL.

hi Ricardo mine does not have a power a button but a standby button. How can you assist in this case?
Yes the power / stand bye button should have the same effect.

After pressing the power button for 60 seconds and plugging in the power, the led below the screen blinks once faintly. Pressing the power button doesn't turn the screen on.
