The Dancing Blade offstage after 3:00 was actually the highest IQ play of the tournament. Simply inspired bait - long-winded explanation below for those interested. Unless you're a diehard Marthcina main, it was probably deeper than you think. Any aerial tossed by Lucina at that height would have enough cooldown to prevent her from double jumping back onstage, so she'd have to double jump/upB to the edge, wait a moment, and then pick a slow getup option. Realizing this, Light, having seen the sword swing, immediately double jump Phantasm'd, because a Lucina forced to return via the ledge would be too slow to punish him for doing so. Additionally, Proto was already low enough that Light didn't have to worry about a double jump bair as long as he (Fox) jumped early. So instead of being in a precarious edgeguard situation against an aggressive Lucina, Light thought he had been gifted a guaranteed window to not only recover, but even steal center stage for free. And if that sword swing had been anything other than a Dancing Blade, which halts aerial momentum, he'd be right. But that little stall was enough to keep Proto high enough to double jump onstage laglessly and not only chase Light, but catch the cooldown of the Phantasm at the absolute earliest percent fsmash would kill. But the real reason that Proto's bait was so clever, the reason it was such a powerful and reliable motivator to induce Light to recover in such a specific way, is because _regardless of whether Lucina had tossed out an aerial or a side B, she still had an opportunity to edgeguard any other option Light could have chosen, regardless of the small height difference that would exist between a bair or a Dancing Blade._ Proto could still double jump bair a phantasm directly to the edge, or double jump edge grab to be in a position to cover a delayed Phantasm to ledge (after a shine stall or a double-jump-fall-to-ledge-height-Phantasm), or even just edgeguarding a Fire Fox the traditional way. Nothing guaranteed, of course, Fox would still have plenty of mixups, but there was only one option Light could opt for that could 100% avoid every edgeguard and return to stage for free. Of course, this is the early double jump phantasm that he went for, as discussed - the exact option Protobanham was trying to convince Light to pick. Sure, it might have seemed flashy, or arbitrary, or simply like Proto trying to go with the flow. But that runoff single Dancing Blade wasn't just some cute flair. It was an incredibly precise bait that considered every possible recovery based on every reasonable sword swing Lucina could have made at that moment. And although the baited response was indeed dependent on Light failing to instantly process the difference a Dancing Blade would make from any other aerial, it was nonetheless an essentially zero-risk option that maintained Proto's advantage state even if Light didn't take the bait. But you know what the scariest part is? This whole situation, this entire option select I have written an essay elucidating, Protobanham understood it instantly and intuitively. I'm sure he's figured it out before, labbed it, done the math, etc, but that's still terrifying to me. tl;dr: Protobanham is mega woke

This match is proof that if you put in the work and have knowledge of every matchup she can be one of the most rewarding characters in the game. It definitely doesn't happen overnight and it takes a lot of practice. Every Lucina main needs to see this video.

@@Amiibo21Lucina is better than Marth imo because she can switch easily between rush down and spacing. You can really mix people by being aggressive, getting the lead, and then switching to "Marth mode" and spacing them out and whiff punishing. Marth is just too much fun, so I mainly use Marth.

Zero_OR 5 What? No. Puff has shorter ranged aerials than Fox, worse ground speed and an even worse grab game than McCloud himself. Lucina can easily hit a Puff while she's jumping around, countering one of her only good traits, her airspeed.

Marth and Lucina can gimp Foxes recovery. Why do you think Fox wins?

後隙という言葉の意味が分かればこれからする説明の意味が分かると思うから頑張って調べてくれ。
今話している撃墜のシーンで空中攻撃を振ったんだが、通常ルキナの空中攻撃の後隙は短くない。しかし、技を出している途中で着地することで、スマブラSPの仕様としてある「後隙が短くなる」専用着地モーションというのがあって、それを「恐らく」使ったんじゃないかと思う。ただ最低空で出したようには見えないから実際の所は後隙キャンセルじゃなくて一転読みの横スマだったのかもしれないとは思ってる。
というかそっちの方が有力かもしれない。
