Happy Birthday Shaun and many more of them too. The Fazer seems ideal for Faye, dropping the bike is just part of life, everyone's done it, just part of becoming a biker.
The fun on these starts at 6k rpm in third or fourth, then rev it up to 12k and hang on. Once you know how to get the best out of these, you can surprise a lot of more powerful bikes( if you want). The other thing is being fuelled by carburetors, there is zero jerkiness that you get with some fuel injected bikes when going on throttle from off. I would go so far as to say that these bikes are better than some of the modern stuff. 94hp, 22 liter tank on the 2002/03 models giving a 220 mile tank range, even when thrashed and a bullet proof engine and so reliable. Superb bikes!

Happy birthday Shaun, that Fazer is ideal for Faye, she has been doing so well since she started riding and I'm looking forward to see you riding the 1300, my mate had one and he loved it, best wishes to you both .....👍
Dropped my zxr400 twice just after I bought it. This was just after passing my test. I was not used to the weight or steering lock after previously owning KH125 two stroke. We all do it, nothing to feel bad about. Good luck to Faye and her lessons.

Dropping the bike is part of the riding game so easy to do on a bike you are unfamiliar with too, especially on uneven roads at junctions or by the side of the road with a drop in the tarmac. When I had an 1100cc Pan European I dropped it several times and boy that takes some lifting. At least Faye didn't have the bike fall on her so just another life lesson learned.I hope you post one of your repaired bike when you get a chance Shaun, itll be interesting to see your reactions as to the differences on riding it to your AT.

Happy Birthday for yesterday. That's a great bike for your mrs. My 1000cc V twin is no heavier but needs a lot more care when cranked over and coming out of roundabouts, particularly in the wet, which does make me wonder about people being lulled into a false sense of security by all the electronic safety aids on modern bikes, should they ever ride a bare bones older one like my own. Best regards from Burry Port, 15 miles west of Swansea.

If you wanna be out 'n about, but are too lazy to work for the joy of riding, then stay at home, or buy a Zero or Livewire. When I was a lad, with BSAs and Matchless bikes, they were simple to work on, roadside reps were a common thing and shifting (all done by hearing and feel) was all part of the work to get you up to speed. Hi Shaun, Canary motorcycle tours DO IT. Its fantastic and they are great i done a day tour a few years ago as a birthday present of my other half the roads are fantastic. The Fazer looks good (and yes we all drop our bikes at some time or other) all part of learning .
I was on a lesson for my das and hadn't put the kickstand all the way down and it was like timberrrrr. Me and the bike went down outside a main bike dealership, just learn from it and crack on and happy birthday mate
Passed my test end of April and just sold my ybr and got a fazor6. Love it. My only problem is slow speed and turning at slow speed. Keep thinking it's the 125. But brilliant bike.
Been riding just over a year, dropped my really nice GSXR600 twice, once last year attempting a stupid U turn in the works car park, and just the other week, uphill to a set of lights, lights were green but traffic was stop start, coasted to a stop and literally just forgot to brake, bike rolled back downhill and down it went, luckily no damage at all on both drops R&G crash bung did it's job.
Happy birthday Shaun hope you got out for a bilated birthday ride on the CB 1300, such a shame the new version isn't available outside of Japan, they're the classic retro naked/half faired bike. It's good to see the Fazer's running well, though I think it'll take Faye a little while to get used to the extra power. I swapped a Triumph Tiger Sports for the FZ1-S, it's much more fun and corners better. Only with no traction control you've got to go easy on the throttle, especially with cold/wet roads or it'll let you know about it. The stock Dunlop tyres took too long to heat up and didn't inspire confidence. A pair of Road 5's transformed both turn in and grip even in the cold and wet.
Love the fz1 i toured the South of France on 1 of them and loved it except for the smallish tank , went out on the big cb1300 today but weather was poor although the bike rode like new I'm made up with it 👍
@@TinsonTour Glad you're happy with the CB 1300 especially after the initial disappointment over the forks. The tanks not too bad on the Gen 2, I think it's the fuel consumption which makes fuel stops more frequent ? Don't think I'm getting much more than 30mpg? Mine's been customized, give it a look, she's something else!! The seats a bit firm, wouldn't want to tour like you did. I've been looking for a second bike for touring, too many great choices along with hefty price tags 🤔 I've settled for the Kawasaki ZZ-R 1400 Performance Sport, put a deposit down on probably the last available one in the UK, hope to take delivery before Summer. Hope Faye gets through her mods 1&2 before anymore lockdowns. Cheers...Michael
Hi Shaun, tell Faye not to worry about dropping the bike, Think I've got the record for down here in the Black Country for dropping bikes,. when we are out nowadays all the lads know were to turn on most of the routes, turn left where Chris dropped his bike or turn right where he dropped it, they'd get lost without my disasters, only joking, thing is, it hasn't doubted her spirit by the sounds of it, that's the main thing. Keep on Trucking Mate.
I was really looking forward to Isle of Wight Diamond Races (a TT spin-off) in Sept.....it's cancelled urgggh! I think anything like the NC500 or vaguely touristy will be a freaking nightmare, maybe this is time to explore less popular area's/ coastlines, which may surprise?
Nice bike. Have had mine, also a silver fox eye 02 plate for 2-3 years now and some toe rags tried to steal it recently. damaged rhs fork lower and rhs front disc. Want to give it some TLC and get it looking as good as yours. Any recommendations? Thanks
Was a great bike that and tbh wish we'd of kept it ... gotta be honest i spent a full day degreasing and cleaning all the metal work as it wasn't pretty when we bought it ... loads of wd40 and elbow grease
Happy birthday ,love that bike ,it was o e of the last air fix I did as a kid ,,52 now i got my mod 1 on 15th next month ,as an expert sot you think about gs 650 ,older model is there anything to look out for , thanks for any help ,,,don't get piss,,,,,,,,,,I mean MERRY lol ,,
Haha we where so close to a gs650 but the fazer came up at the rite price ... as far as things to look out for they are pretty bullet proof as long as they have had regular oil changes , shocks can be pretty soft but that's an easy fix .. good luck on the mod 1 👍
you ever feel the need for crash bars or are the bungs/sliders enough? Also is there any need for sliders near the rear? Are they universals ones or model specific?
Just looking at one of these but newer model with underseat exhaust only 2900 miles £4000 but still fancy the Moto guzzi v7 850 special think it’s the retro bloke in me
Happy birthday, I was just wondering what insurance you got for Faye since she has not passed her test. I have been looking for friend who wants to learn to ride a A2 bike, but cant find any learners insurance for them. Would they need a instructor with them at all times or can I go out with them to give them tips?
We went with bemoto but yes she's gotta be in radio contact with an instructor when she's on the bike but it's all in her name and was only a bit more expensive than the michigan which is crazy
That might be the best carb 600 engine made. Until yamaha made the mt07 everything after couldn't touch it. And Yamahas bounce well. I speak from experience... Great choice. Happy birthday and travels.
The oil cooled 600 Bandits have the best engines tried & well tested & bulletproof .The Fazer was a bit faster top end but not got the cult bike status of the Bandit .The Bandit had plenty of mid range stonk & pulled like a train .Also you could fit the 750 teapot cylinders & top end & many parts from other bikes could be used to customise it .The chrome on the Fazer forks was crap ,everyone I saw used had pitted forks ,that’s why I bought the Bandit. I owned it 17 years & it never missed a beat or broke down ,only one puncture fixed at the roadside .The Other rival the Honda Hornet didn’t have the cult status of the Bandit either .Bandits 600 or 1200 cc oil cooled naked ‘s were the real McCoy & the original & best bang for buck .
Any opinion on this version (up to 2003) vs the newer model that came out in 2004. ? Also would love to get your opinion since you bought it. How has it been since ?
Honestly it's got to be up there as 1 of the best pound for pound bikes , the engine is a peach from any revs and super comfortable... oh and mega reliable if looked after
6-7 weeks with no riding, working long hrs...shitty weather, kids life. When I get on that bike I would be massaging the rev limiter every change I could!
I’ve never dropped my bike 😎👌 but I have dropped every bike my wife has ever had and believe me I wish it was mine and not hers as the way it is 😎☝️it’s the most painful experience, so it’s a normal learning progression don’t let it knock your confidence, lol blipper s quickshifters + all the other electrical black magic has just made bikes so dam expensive and would you want to own a 2021 bike in ten years another good watch stay safe ,
It's so funny thinking that someone on a CBT has to shell out £1200 for an old YBR125 or something at the moment, whereas if you have your full licence you can have something like a Fazer or Bandit 600 for less than £1k if you're lucky.
@@TinsonTour so she is going for her A license and not her A2? It’s very confusing, my lad has just passed his cbt so he is on L plates but because he is 22 he can’t do a A license until he’s 24 so he is going for his A2 which means he won’t need L plates on a 47 bhp bike. I realise I am really old and barely cogent but I can’t wait for him to come on a tour with me but these tests to get a bike license seem to be designed to put as many obstacles in the way so most people give up.
I rode an fz6 from 2009 to 2019 (30,000 km). one of the best motorcycle I ever had. Greeting from PAtagonia ARGENTINA

I was on a lesson for my das and hadn't put the kickstand all the way down and it was like timberrrrr. Me and the bike went down outside a main bike dealership, just learn from it and crack on and happy birthday mate
Haha it happens to everyone at some point usually at a standstill me included 😅
Passed my test end of April and just sold my ybr and got a fazor6. Love it. My only problem is slow speed and turning at slow speed. Keep thinking it's the 125.
But brilliant bike.
Yeah think that's a problem a lot have as soon as it starts going over there's not much stopping it 🤣👍
😯🥳happy birthday 🥂you tell Faye no worries, just carry on. Hope the weather gets better there for more bike time 🥂😎🏍💨💨💨💨💨👍🏻🇨🇦
Cheers guys the weather has been poor for a while now but fingers crossed it's getting better for the weekend 😀
Happy belated birthday mate 👍
Thanks pal 👍🏍
Firstly Happy birthday mate.. And tell Faye you are not a biker till you have dropped it..
Haha that's the way to look at it 🤣
Happy birthday 🎂🥳
Cheers pal 👍
To be fair they are heavy bikes, especially,if you have been riding a 125c, but its still a brilliant bike.cheers mate
Yeah it's a big jump but needs must
Hope you had a nice birthday bud!
H looked stunning 📷
Good luck in 9 days time 🤞🏻👍🏻
Cheers pal it's been a washout but few beers and a rainy ride today ... roll on summer 👍🏍
Been waiting for this 🤪🤪🤪🤪👍👍👍👍🏍🏍🏍🏍 Dam I thought it would be Faye on the bike bless her. Happy Birthday buddy 👍👍
Cheers pal hopefully in the next few weeks she will have some learning vids out on it 👍
Been riding just over a year, dropped my really nice GSXR600 twice, once last year attempting a stupid U turn in the works car park, and just the other week, uphill to a set of lights, lights were green but traffic was stop start, coasted to a stop and literally just forgot to brake, bike rolled back downhill and down it went, luckily no damage at all on both drops R&G crash bung did it's job.
Absolutely it's easy done pal , and yeah crash bungs are a necessity 👍
happy birthday fella! You should get new graphics for the tank that says "Faye"zer
Cheers pal top idea that 👍
Happy birthday Shaun hope you got out for a bilated birthday ride on the CB 1300, such a shame the new version isn't available outside of Japan, they're the classic retro naked/half faired bike.
Tbh i don't mind firm seats as soft 1s hurt my back as i tend to slouch but that's more to do with my dodgy back than the seat comfort
Haha defo won't be the last time pal and many thanks for the msg 👍
Happy birthday 🥳
Nice 1 thanks 👍
Just keep going pet. It will all come good in the end 👍
Aww thanks its a big learning curve 😀🏍
I was really looking forward to Isle of Wight Diamond Races (a TT spin-off) in Sept.....it's cancelled urgggh! I think anything like the NC500 or vaguely touristy will be a freaking nightmare, maybe this is time to explore less popular area's/ coastlines, which may surprise?
Yeah defo avoiding tourist routes this year although we haven't got a thing planned
Late birthday wishes pal have a good one 👍🏼👍🏼
Cheers Michael 👍
Happy Birthday have a good day…
Thanks Dean 🍺
@@TinsonTour meny thanks ,,stay right side up
you ever feel the need for crash bars or are the bungs/sliders enough?
Also is there any need for sliders near the rear? Are they universals ones or model specific?
Crash bars would be better as top fairing still touches down slightly when dropped , can't see any need for rear bungs though
Happy birthday 🎈🥳🍻
Aww thanks 😊
Uncle, I loved my 600Fazer, says you cant take a test on greater than 125 cc. so I assume the L on the windscreen stands for 'ell of a bike !
Uve got to take your test on a big bike ... 125cc for cbt then 600cc for full A licence ... passed my test on an sv650
Happy birthday have a couple of cheeky beers
Cheers Tim it'd be rude not to 👍
Just looking at one of these but newer model with underseat exhaust only 2900 miles £4000 but still fancy the Moto guzzi v7 850 special think it’s the retro bloke in me
Happy birthday, I was just wondering what insurance you got for Faye since she has not passed her test.
My first Big bike was a Fazer, they are so forgiving, for a new Rider, Happy Birthday, & ride safe! Liked & subbed!
Cheers John that's very much appreciated 👍
This video is superb, good sense is seen in,I also sent LIKE👍
Aww many thanks 👍🏍
Do you not think some bikes have too much tech nowadays it seems a bit overkill on some models
Yeah absolutely it's defo not my cup of tea and don't get me started on keyless ignition 🤣
top bike last of the real bikes lov them
Can't beat the older " real " bikes 👍🏍
That might be the best carb 600 engine made. Until yamaha made the mt07 everything after couldn't touch it.
And Yamahas bounce well. I speak from experience...
Great choice.
Happy birthday and travels.
Absolutely pal it's a stonking motor and super smooth 👍🏍
Yeah me 2 , well i do on my own bike but this isn't mine
happy birthday getting younger every day lol
Haha some1 needs to tell my back that 🤣
I’ve never dropped my bike 😎👌 but I have dropped every bike my wife has ever had and believe me I wish it was mine and not hers as the way it is 😎☝️it’s the most painful experience, so it’s a normal learning progression don’t let it knock your confidence, lol blipper s quickshifters + all the other electrical black magic has just made bikes so dam expensive and would you want to own a 2021 bike in ten years another good watch stay safe ,
Cheers pal it's much appreciated and omg I'd never hear the end of it if i dropped Fayes bike 🤣🤣
It's so funny thinking that someone on a CBT has to shell out £1200 for an old YBR125 or something at the moment, whereas if you have your full licence you can have something like a Fazer or Bandit 600 for less than £1k if you're lucky.
I know the price of 125's in comparison is ridiculous 👍
Made up for Faye and her Fayzer.
Cheers Les she loves it 👍
I miss my old 1st generation Fazer 6 with it's bug ugly retro headlights..............was actually a brilliant bike
Honestly can't fault it at all James 👍🏍
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
👍🏍
👍🏻
👍🏍
we all drop bikes....
Yeah it happens no big deal really 👍
I hope faye not fayesed for falling of Frazer, just a joke hope alls good🙋♂️
Haha its all good 👍
🏍👍
Happy burpday...
Thank you 😊
Ok at the risk of sounding dumb why is the Fazer adorned with L plates. Please be gentle I passed my test over 50 years ago.
It's the bike Faye is learning on as now u have to do it on a 600cc or above with a certain power to weight ratio 👍
Yeah faye is doing her A licence so hopefully in a few months she won't need L's fingers crossed
That's a butey
Cheers pal 👍
Happy birthday
Cheers James 👍
