• Kamado Joe Kettle Joe ...
Kamado Joe plans to release a new charcoal grill in 2021. It's a kamado-shaped kettle-style charcoal grill known as "Kettle Joe."
The projected release date is in late February of 2021. That date, of course, could change. Much of the information in this description is based on the prototype that was announced. Some of what's written or seen/heard in the video could change by the time the grill is released.
The Kettle Joe is said to feature a Lid Hinge System, SloRoller Hyperbolic Insert, Ceramic Firebox, Pull Out Ash Drawer, Folding Side Shelves, Lid Thermometer and Weatherproof Chimney Cap. The grill will have a 22-inch cook surface with a total of 363 Sq. In. in cooking space.
It's projected to retail for $499 at the time of writing this. We're accepting local pre-orders at this link: justgrillinflo...
The SloRoller insert will also be sold separately and is designed to fit on 22-inch Weber Kettle Grills.

Selling a slo-roller for kettles is a brilliant stroke to gain market share in the overall charcoal bbq segment.
Something I just thought of ... in indirect mode on a normal 22” kettle you have your fire (coals) to one side occupying about 1/3 the grill space . Leaving 2/3 for food . With this KJ kettle in indirect mode (with the hyperbolic ring insert) you actually get ALL 22” of cooking space for food 👏 Sounds clever to me
That's a great point, Steve.
Will this unit be compatible with other accessories like the joe Rotisserie
No. It’s a 22.5” diameter which is wider than the Classic size but smaller than the Big Joe size.
Looks promising
Would love to get a slo-roller for my 22 Master Touch, any idea when it will be available for purchase? Hope it comes in black though!
The original release date was supposed to be late February of this year but indications are it won’t be ready for purchase until April at earliest.
Regarding it being black, they only show it in the red. Maybe something they update due to consumer feedback down the road but no indication that it will be in any color other than red.
@@justgrillin Thanks for the reply!
Are these new kettles going to be able to use a rotisserie attachment
They haven't said so or announced a rotisserie accessory for this unit. The diameter is bigger than a Classic Joe and smaller than a Big Joe so the JoeTisserie line will not fit.
The SloRoller on these units is designed to fit on Weber 22" Kettles so the Weber rotisserie may or may not fit on this. Without having one of these units in person, cannot confirm that. The Weber rotisserie accessory sits rather tall because the Weber Kettle Lids just lift on and off. Because this Kettle Joe has a hinged lid, my best educated guess is it won't be compatible.
Kamado Joe most likely will gauge how these new grills perform before investing in developing a new set of accessories for them.

@@justgrillin I purchased an "Onlyfire" Rotisserie and Pizza kit for $150 that fits great. Stainless steel and looks neat.
Does the joetisserie and the doe joe I have from my classic 3 will fit?
Unfortunately, no. We have a newer video with new images of the market-ready version of the grill. We discuss this question and cooking surfaces in that video. This grill has a larger diameter than the Classic Joe’s but smaller than Big Joe’s. You would be able to use Classic cook surfaces like soapstone and griddle on top of Kettle Joe grates but they don’t fit naturally on their own.
@@justgrillin Buy a rotisserie that fits a 22 inch Weber. Lots of complaints about Weber's rotisserie not fitting it's own grill which is crazy. I purchased a stainless steel "Onlyfire" pizza and rotisserie combo kit that FITS GREAT and looks great, for $150.
Can you use coconut briquettes with this one? Would like to know because briquettes are not recommended for a Kamado but they are for kettles. Like them better to reduce smoke.
Could you? Yeah, you could.
Should you? Would be best not to but that doesn’t mean people don’t do it. I believe there is coconut lump charcoals available out on the market too.
There are also great lump options that produce light smoke. Look for something that’s maple. Purchasing a better quality lump charcoal will make a big difference too versus the cheaper offerings.
Is the grate 22"?
That's what the information says that we have. 22" diameter and 363 sq. in. of cook space.
Eric from kamado has been using one for a while
I'm guessing its 22" wide?
Yes. It’s supposed to be 22” in diameter.
in Russia, it will appear at an official dealer only in June and will cost 850$. I have already pre-ordered one and am waiting for it. I envy those who will be able to get it in April and for 500 baks
April is only the projected launch. Could be longer wait than that. On the plus side, at least you have access to it. We see people in other countries post about having no access to these grills on various online forum sites.
@@justgrillin why is there still absolutely nothing on the Internet about this model? except for one short video and one series of photos
@@iwhypokeriwhy3805 Not totally sure. I assume they're just waiting until it gets closer. Chef Eric teased a photoshoot with a Kettle Joe so looks like they're working on putting together promotional content for it. Probably will start to see/hear stuff relatively soon if April still holds for launch.
@@justgrillin Thank you for your reply! But maybe I better cancel my preorder and buy Joe Jr instead of Kettle Joe? Its looks suitable or a family of 2 people on regular daily use, plus a few more friends on weekends. I am very afraid of this uncertainty with the release date.
Any news on releasee date
It was set for an early 2021 launch of February but its looking like it’ll be April at the earliest (could be later) that it’s available.
where/when can I buy this model?
Depends on when Kamado Joe has it ready to release. Original timeline was February but at the moment April seems to be what they’re saying.
If you’re local to the Tampa area, you’ll be able to purchase through us.
I’ll stick with my $300 insulated Akorn.
So ‘In Depth Review’ is your fairly obvious observations on the promo video? Not quite an in depth review is it?
Interesting all the same thanks.
You’re welcome. We don’t like to speak on much to what is unknown so this is as much in-depth as information was provided.
The lid doesn’t even close tightly for me. Leaking out smoke. Common man, I’m about to return mine
Seems like a lot of smoke escaping the lid?
It appears that way in the video. Those shots are with the SloRoller attachment in place too.
Without getting hands on one in person, tough to understand exactly why. Might have to do with design of the SloRoller attachment since it’s designed to fit 22” Weber Kettles. Maybe it doesn’t seal as well versus lid-to-base?
This is first teaser of the product so could very well be something they notice and modify before releasing?
@@justgrillin I applied a gasket material on the lid and leaky smoke is no problem with the SloRoller
Ssssssssexy ! why did they have to make this thing look so good?
Right!?! For the size, features and price point, we're really excited about it. Be hard to choose between this or the Joe Jr. once this is available.
Any idea when a full hands on review will be available?
We just published a newer video here: ruclips.net/video/UnzlTf9GqSg/видео.html
It's still not hands on but we have new information and images of the grill they plan to bring to market. Some stuff is different than in this video. You won't really see hands on stuff until the grill hits the market. It's in the final stages of testing to ensure all is well before it's released. You may see KJ's Chef Eric post some stuff with his. Once we get ours in we'll have more on this grill.
I wish I COOD afford 1 . Please help
Brooooo
Aluminium 😂😂😂😂
Hello I live in the uk if you need anyone to trial one here I would be up for it 👍
So you get us stuck on ceramic Kamado,,now u take it away,,,give us metal,,,...not good
I’m sorry but I think it’s kinda ugly
Have had a few people say something of that sort. We'll see when they start coming in.
