@@thedude102878 lol wut. You dont have to rebuild a rotary to maintain good compression. Just keep oil and coolant in it and they are fine. My rx7 has 300k on the original carbed motor, no rebuilds ever. The carb failed before my motor did.

Fabulous series chaps. My dad bought a brand new Orange Mazda RX-2 in 1973, the dealer didn't know what to do with it when it became hard to start (at 14k) so my dad took the engine out and rebuilt it on his desk at work (a wooden hut on a demolition site), this was in 1974 with no internet to help, he replaced the rotor tips and it ran beautifully for another 20k but failed again at 34k and the car sat for some years.
Sadly my dad sold it to a guy who gave it to a garage who fitted a ford V4 engine, they left a fuel hose loose and the car caught fire and burnt to a crisp on it's test run, when my dad heard he didn't laugh....much ;) I believe the car would have wanted this rather than suffer the indignity of having a stone age iron piston engine.
I did LOVE that car and have loved Rotary's ever since, my best friend too, he was so inspired by the engine he went on to have a huge collection of Wankel engined motorcycles, Norton F1's, DKW and 2 Van Veen ! (they only made 36) and has become an expert on them. Great engines.
