  • How Do You Wash Clip-In Hair Extensions?
    A question customers often ask us is how to wash clip-in hair extensions. In this tutorial, we’ll teach you how to wash clip-in extensions from ZALA.
    Step 1: Detangle your extensions using a hairbrush that’s safe for hair extensions. Top options are a loop brush or the ZALA Tangle Teaser. Start at the bottom and work your way up.
    Step 2: Check all the clips are closed.
    Step 3: Fill a sink with warm water.
    Step 4: Take one weft at a time, folding it at the top for an easier grip. Place the weft in the water without moving it too much to avoid tangles.
    Step 5: Use a small amount of shampoo designed for hair extensions. Spread the shampoo through the weft. There’s no need to make a lather - this will only tangle the hair.
    Step 6: Repeat for all your extensions.
    Step 7: Empty the sink of water and rinse each weft in turn.
    Step 8: Repeat the entire process again, this time using conditioner instead of shampoo. Leave the conditioner in for 10 to 15 minutes. You can rinse all the extensions together instead of doing one at a time.
    Step 9: Lay extensions flat on a towel, leaving them to dry overnight.
    Step 10: Use a heat protectant and then straighten the extensions with a hair straightener tool.
    That’s it! You’ve washed your hair extensions.

      You can wash them but not alot! I personally either don't use shampoo or use a teeny tiny dot (the size of the eraser on a school pencil) and my extensions last ages!

    How many times should you wash them? Like how many wears until it’s time to wash them because I don’t want to damage them

      Hi Karren,
      Thanks for your message.
      When it's time to wash your human hair extensions, a good quality sulphate & paraben free shampoo are best for keeping your extensions clean. However, remember to only wash your human hair extensions minimally to keep them soft & shiny for as long as possible.
      Please let us know if you need further assistance.

    How often would you wash and do you have to retone them if you have blonde hair?

    • @ZalacliphairextensionsAu
      @ZalacliphairextensionsAu  6 лет назад

      Hi Haley!
      Hair extensions are generally more porous therefore you shouldn't need to re-tone them often, unless you are washing them frequently which we don't suggest doing. We only advise washing the extensions as little as possible, as this will help to prolong their lifespan :)

    Can u use spray conditioner

    • @ZalacliphairextensionsAu
      @ZalacliphairextensionsAu  8 лет назад

      Yes you can, however applying a rinse out cream conditioner will and more moisture which is what we want.
      You can apply a spray leave in conditioner afterwards making sure its not too heavy :)
