pull from selection packs not secret packs, if you are late and missed that selection pack where those cards were, bad luck for you. And if the cards you are trying to pull have never been in a selection pack this last 3 years, well that means those are outdated bad cards, because every single meta card has been released in a selection pack during the last almost 3 years, so i am assuming you are paying the price for being late.
My biggest issue with master duel is not being able to dismantle cards from legacy packs and other like it, I have so many SRs and URs that I’ll never play and could absolutely use the dust for them to finish off a couple decks I have that are really close to being finished I’m just missing a couple UR cards here and there
I don't mind not being able to dust them, rather pulling more than a playset of them on top on that If to pull more copies they should guarantee a higher foil and/or rollover into more packs
The sad part is that it's still way cheaper to build a meta deck in MD than TCG. Though they definitely have gotten more greedy as time has gone on, now often putting most of a new deck as URs rather than just one or two chase cards.
Also just between you and me, there is an unofficial MD simulator so you can have the look of MD but without having to make any purchases. Outside the game it's obvious it's a sim, but while in a match it looks the same. Would probably save you a lot of time and money to just use that.
@@M1A2C. There have been a few over the years, when I used to use them it was ygopro and devpro but those are defunct now. I believe the 2 sims people use now are Omega & EDOPro but I haven't used them at all.
@@M1A2C. There's an exact master duel replica game with all the assets from master duel called mdpro3 but it has limited pvp I think, but the most feature full one is Project Ignis beware of other clients like omega because you have to download it from sketchy sites or google drives and some of them are reuploads with viruses, Project Ignis is safe from their site
this! i dont give a flying fuck about modern, so i dont care about MD, if they had edison tho...with a ladder and stuff....my brother in christ i would be addicted
This is the actual problem. For a F2P game, Master Duel is actually quite player friendly. I haven't spent a dime on the game since launch and have plenty of high rarity decks. I would play so much more of this game if it had older formats.
The problem to me is bad, deck specific cards are UR’s to begin with. If I wanna play Ojama ABC’s just for fun. Ojamatch is a UR just because it’s one of the major pieces for that deck. That’s just one example. Every bad deck that someone just wants to play anyway has UR’s attached to it just to gatekeep it.
Agreed 💯% I'm f2p and it takes me months to build one decent deck but I agree ruxin should play every day do the daily and events and buy the battle pass but he's a content creator and likely doesn't have a lot of time on top of other things but fortunately doing what he does brings in money enough to support his content
Cheat note for people playing without paying : 1. Log in every day for just 1 second, claim just the login gem, then quit 2. Every 3 days, play the game and clear all mission, and then close it again and wait another 3 days to play (but still login everyday) 3. Buy every duel pass And that's it, i have +20 decks with different archetype just by doing this and i didn't even play at launch. No problems with UR, no problems with new cards, no problem with staples. My only problem is that i ran out if deck slots lol.
Ya don't have to wait 3 days, ya can just manipulate the daily missions by claiming only the 3 ya want to appear everyday, log in 30 minutes to an hour before the reset, do the 3 daily missions (ya can just play a self FTK deck and surrender every duel that ya lose the dice roll to speedup the process) then do the missions again after the reset. My personal choice for missions are: Play 3 Solo Mode Duels (the Megalith Gate practice duel is by far one of the fastest to finish, under 5 minutes for 3 duels) Activate 3 Spells Special Summon 5 times
@@6210classickyeah but some people like myself don't have time to login and play every day even if it's for 20 minutes .. so I hop on once every 3rd day and let the 9 challenges stack up and clear them all in 1 shot (unchained is amazing for this..can knock out 7 or 8 of them in one go if ur lucky) .. needless to say everyone has their way of doing it but so long as you login daily and collect the rewards etc the game is pretty generous. They give us somewhere just over 100,000 gems a year for free.
Seriously, just this. The only thing I'd add at all is to do events as they come, and you'll quite literally be swimming in gems. I agree that the pricing of this game is absolutely horrid, but at the same time its also incredibly free to play friendly unless you're literally trying to make EVERY deck in the game, or trying to make decks for cards that are in no pack save for either the master packs, or a previous selection pack that hasn't yet become a secret pack. I've spent maybe 30 dollars on the game in the past, something I pretty much instantly regretted due to similar reasons as seen in the video, but at this point in time I have around 22+ decks off the top of my head just from playing the game over time. I've even taken several months long breaks from the game and still manage to have a pretty high amount of gems/decks, and currently I'm sitting on 9k gems for whatever pops up that grabs. All in all, game is super free to play friendly, way more so than Duel Links, and even paying money its still easier to build an actual deck in Master duel than the TCG, even if the TCG your cards will have real value for being an actual physical object. Even compared to a lot of Gachas out there, without spending a dime, you get absurdly high value in Master Duel. So while I DO agree that the pricing for those who spend money on the game compared to the return value is just not there or worth it in the slightest, I'd also go on to say that if you don't mind waiting or having some patience there isn't really much of a reason TO spend money on Master Duel. Beyond that being a content creator, in Ruxin's case he can at least write off a lot of this on tax returns at the end of the day as business expenses, and I wouldn't imagine your average player is making decks at the frequency that someone like him or many other YGO content creators who have a huge focus on sealed environments or old formats will be, so its somewhat of a non-issue really.
As someone who plays Masterduel since Day 1 and has only spent 50 bucks on it: You can build multiple decks as long as you get the gems from events. Its getting harder these days because Konami is UR taxing newer decks more and more but its still possible to build multiple decks that you were priced out in the TCG. That said, theres still ways to improve the system and I have these 2 proposals: Just like Selection Packs, Secret Packs will only contain cards from the Secret Pack, not 4 from the pack, 4 random ones and every 10 Pack opening, you are guaranteed atleast 1 UR. Doesnt sound like much but should help a lot when opening packs
I dont get the problems people have. Just do the duel pass and events and you can build one of the new meta decks pretty easily, when they come out. People are not smart with dusting and how they spend their UR dust. Also important is buying the selection packs with the new decks when they come out and are still in the store, as in there all the cards are from the set. I play since day 1 and have every single handtrap as a playset and most other staples like boardbreakers as well. I hav Fire King SE, tearlaments, Striker, Banded and lots of other fully crafted decks and still have 1400 UR dust left over. I have not spent a single penny on the game.
@@stiffeificationi totally agree i have 250 days logged in i havent spend a single dollar on the game i have all the meta decks(snake eye , yubel, tenpai etc.) and multiple decks that i like to play a lot of staples and handtraps and i dont play even that much like half and hour a day maybe more when events are out just finish ur dailys buy battlepasses and u good
I only play MD since 1st anniv and didn't pay any money but I got over 20 different decks + some of the alt art cards, it's really not as bad as people think.
As someone who comes and goes with MD whenever I have the feel for yugioh I agree it's not that hard especially with events like duelist cup or whatever it's called I recently built a evil twins and altergeist and that just took me 3 days playing and it only felt long because I don't hop on the game everyday
I've been playing since day 1 too. It feels like I can really only commit to building 1 constructed deck out of every 2 or 3 selection packs unless I wanna dust one of my older decks or buy gems, which I don't.
The thing that truly showed me how absurd the UR economy is is that I saved up about 12k gems, had the URs unchained cards crafted, and I spent it all on building Yubel when it came out ( the deck only has like 3 in archetype URs) and I STILL did not have enough of the cards to build or craft the deck
Same. That happened to me with Snake eyes. Spent literally 170K on the selection pack. And did not pull a single Wanted original sinful spoils. And didn’t get enough CP to craft the full deck. So the Meta just kinda passed me by and I gave up.
@@jofx4051 It’s the principle of the matter is what i’m getting at. I don’t know the dollar amounts, but if i’m building a deck in the tcg, if I don’t pull something I need I can just buy it. If I I don’t pull something I need, there is a very good chance I don't have enough URs to craft it. I’m honestly at the point of being fine with buying cars a-la carte, i’m getting sick of this “ feels bad, stare at a deck missing 3 cards for months” feeling.
@@yukotrey9422 I do have some decks that till now I don't finish cause I don't sac other URs and I don't feel bad about that though It may happen when the deck is UR intensive and getting worse since the meta deck has been UR heavy taxed
@@yukotrey9422yes in the TCG you can just buy the card, and in masterduel you can…. also just craft it, 30 UR dust. 12k gems and you couldn’t build Yubel? I don’t believe you or the snake eyes guy. You two are either full of it, or wasted your dust on royals or are incredibly stingy with your collection and don’t dust anything even stuff you literally never use.
@@Ruxin34 given how many rares the game gives you, and how they know you need SRs and URs for decks the conversion rate from rare to SR would probably be some enormous spike of at least 100+ to get a single SR point
Fortunately, some of the URs in a deck are considered staples in modern so once you get 3x of them, you can play them in any deck afterwards. For example, Maxx C at 3x, Ash Blossom at 3x, and Imperm at 3x. Once you invested into those 9 cards, you can play them in any deck going forward saving you 9 spots in your decks. Also, they have bundles that have these staple cards for 750 gems with staple card plus 10 MD packs. So even cheaper to technically acquire these staples. Also, daily missions and events do add up into about 9k gems in about less than 2 months on average. That 9k gems is enough usually to get about half of a meta deck in a featured selection pack in pulls if you have average luck. Than decraft the cards you don't want and most of that deck you wanted to make is already obtained in around 9k gems or even less if you had good luck. Also, the Battlepass if you complete it, gives you a full refund on what it cost +100 UR and +100 SR points. This does help a lot in crafting your staples since it's 3 UR and 3 SR cards in around 2 months time since it resets around every 60 days. This game can be played completely F2P easily. Very easy to craft up a deck that's meta and it be an investment that lasts at least a few months before a ban list might affect it. Even with the ban list, the deck would still be strong to ladder with and as long as you mastered the deck, you can get to the highest rank if you spend the time grinding it. Every MD deck that got hit in a ban list has always been very powerful and the hits actual balance them enough to still be highly competitive anyways. It's only expensive if you are chasing to play every new deck that's available and even then, you get a long enough period of time to get those cards if you played daily. For content creators like Ruxin, MBT, Farfa, etc. they make money through MD in videos, so of course they will invest thousands of dollars into it and complain when they don't get the cards they want. They also get tax write ups as this is their job, so they get a decent discount technically on buying gems for MD. Don't take their experience as the average player who plays MD casually.
Exactly! As long as you dont have the "I have to play the deck I want *right* *now* " mentality, you will eventually craft it. I planned to finish voiceless voice, madolche, and heros for months and I slowly finished to craft them while playing other decks. Now I have 5k gems sitting for the new atlantean and shark support that is coming in the future, I plan crafting some dragonrulers after seeing the new dr support and yeah. Absolutely no stress with Urs like you said. The only thing that I think is bad is the priceing. I would be a dolphine if they had better priceing. Aint no way I spend money when it is this high and it is this easy to get the cards. I would spend a lot of money if they made like 10bucks for 10k gems minimum. I would even consider hunting some royals. But because the price is this high nope I will play the slow game and ignore royals.
I agree, have been playing a little over a year, and have probably only spent a total of 10-20 bucks when I first got the game and now I have 2 meme decks 1 darkdragoon deck thats trash and a swordsoul deck that gets me to plat1- master5 every season, just gotta play a couple games a day lol
I have spent exactly ZERO dollars on Master Duel and I have several full decks that I can actually win Ranked Matches. All the fun with none of the investment.
Dude... Just craft them🤦 you get UR stones just for playing in ranked, and if you use 700 gems in buying the duel pass, you get even more (and if you actually finish the duel pass treadmill, you regain the 700 gems)
In Cardfight Vanguard Zero (RiP) when you got a 5th copy + (you can have upto 4 in a deck in Cardfight) the duplicates were automatically converted into crafting materials something I wish duel links would do back when I played it
8:01 that happened to me when i was opening the New pack Chaotic Showtime. I wanted White forest but pulled 0 UR white forest after spending 8K gems. I just kept on pulling wanted and Diabellstar
I'm the WORST type of Master Duel player...for Konami. I only play 2 or 3 Decks. I've permanently 10K gems wich i'm FORCED to throw away on packs cuz of the storage limit,1500 UR dust, dozens and dozens of ultra rare in my collection ready to be dusted and Everytime i want a new Customizable item i buy it. Oh, 0$ spent obviously. I also came back for the Engage unban after 1 Year brake.
Same but perhaps worse: I don't want to climb higher than gold... and just beat people with meta decks most of the time (I spend like only 10 mins per account). Once I've spent my gems on the "good" selection packs I can spend my UR & SR dust on various less conventional decks then repeat. It seems like Konami releases only 1 meta changing selection pack every 2 months so that's enough to get the habitual ~8000 gems per month and be prepared for the next one without feeling "late" (and needing to craft lots of UR). That way, when I'm really keen on learning & making a new deck I always have gems or UR/SR to spend. Also I tend only to craft UR from selection packs when I'm out of gems and only those who'll be probably banned later so I can recoup the invested UR dust xD I've always been on point thanks to various people talking about meta issues online. It's not that time consuming and the UR can be used on staples that'll be used in my rogue & meta decks so I have the best of both worlds
9:00 and that's where the Duel Links system shines: even tho you need to spend max 30k gems or god knows how much on money, you're GARANTEED to have at least 3 copies of every card in the box. Fully open it 3 times, and you can never touch this anymore. In Master Duel, this could literally go infinite.
I've been f2p since Day 1 and on Switch too. You will receive 3k+ gems each month via Login and Daily Missions, and more gems via Event. Every player can have 8k to 9k gems saved, and ready for New Selection Packs release in MD. Be wise on what decks you want to play for long run, and decks to have fun. I would love to have Royal Common and Rare in MD too.
Yeah, but it's really hurt when the new deck need 12+ URs and can't use it on other deck like Tenpai or Gimmick Puppets. If deck have 12+ URs at least throw it to other archetype that can be engine like White Forest or Horus, at least i can build 1-2 decks for another archetype as an engine
I've uninstalled MD a while ago for the following reasons - No proper Test Mode if the Deck Builder to test your decks - The format is not balanced for best of 1, with Maxx C being the most aggregious example - 1 bad UR luck from the monthly 10K gems sets you pack permanently on your UR points, get 2 and and you have a very hard time crafting a new deck, even with dismantling excess UR cards - A lack of options to play the game, especially for casuals. Repeating events does not help either - Increasingly becoming more greedy with the URs - I just found myself doing the dailies for the free gems, not enjoying the game anymore so I decided I could spent my time better. After going through the FOMO phase I do not regret uninstalling the game. It would need to see a lot of changes if it wants to get me back playing the game again.
Good video. Personally I think Konami does need to do something eventually because it’s hard for new players to catch up on all the staple cards they need. Some ideas I have 1. The ability to convert lower rarity dust into higher rarity dust. Like 1000 N rarity dust to 10 R rarity dust and 1000 R rarity dust into 10 SR dust, and 1000 SR dust into 10 UR dust. 2. The ability to convert UR pulled in legacy packs into dust once you have more than 3 of them. I have like 8 blue-eyes white dragons from legacy packs… 3. Maybe instead of giving us legacy tickets in events we just get UR and SR dust. They don’t have to use all these ideas but I think it would be good for the game if they gave us 2/3 of these suggestions.
I have spent 0 dollars on this game and yet I have most meta decks and a a lot of casual decks. The trick is to get all the gems from the daily missions and events, spend them carefully, and only dismantle stuff that is not going to be played ever.
People are just stupid with their gems and in Ruxin's case he obviously just doesn't play the game often at all but somehow he's confused why he has to spend money on gems.
The trick is getting lucky. It's a good draw if I get 1 UR (even if I don't need that one) from a 10 pack. Every 10 pack should have a "Min of 1 UR" protection. Getting it at your next 10 pack, which is 20$ is restarted. Wait a minute.... Do you happen to also just make a new acc for a new deck? Cuz that would make sense.
@@JackBlack-qn7us No, i have 1 steam account and a new one that has 1 MONTH on my phone and already ending a tearlaments-horus and used the benefit of the swordsoul deck to make it faster.
1 thing i noticed as a very Patient Gem Collector through the Daily Missions and Season Passes is, i had 15000 Gems bought packs and got UR‘s but Not nearly as many and the ones i wanted as i did the same thing with 15000 Gems that i bought. The difference was Crazy, it feels Like Konami and the RNG See which Type of gems you are using and you get better Pulls After Paying

@@holladiewaldfee6071 I think that's less them messing with the starting hand and more just a mixture of bad luck and the shuffler not being the best. I often start with 1 off bricks when I play anything even snake-eyes. 😂
Don't forget to mention, Duel Links will wipe your account if you take to much time to log in and play. During COVID I probably spent over $1000 on that game building a really good collection. Lockdown ended, and I couldn't play for maybe a month. They cleaned my account I lost every single card and deck. All of it, I was done with the game after that. Wouldn't give me a refund, and they wouldn't just give me the stuff back that I paid money for.
What type of account did you use? I hadn’t played much after the 2017 kc cup and just recently started playing again sporadically and my Konami account still had everything in it
@@AlcorSolaire Google Play, and it could have possibly been longer than a month. I went back to work but things were so slow I was laid off again. I do know it wasn't long enough for them to just take all cards back.
I think you should have to craft the cards for ranked and casual matches, but if it's vs friends where you get no rewards anyway, the player should be free to build whatever they like. Would be enough of a balance potentially
Yes, but you can build a top tier full power meta deck every months with how much gems you got, for free. Free compare to 100$ is still a big different
Masterduel incentivizes you to play daily to earn those gems. It's not bad for the everyday players who stick to a couple of decks, but pretty rough for content creators who make content weekly. Those special packs come back eventually. Gotta get some fomo for it's initial release.
I feel like your view is a bit tilted because of your need to make a lot of very specifically built deck for your series, as well as having to craft cards that you aren't planning to keep or use. After playing Master Duel for over a year, I've built plenty of different decks, well over 30 at this point (can't tell the exact amount since I didn't keep all of them). I haven't spent a single dollar, yet I have a very diverse deck experience. It helps if you're willing (or able, I know this doesn't work in your Edison or draft formats) to substitute cards you don't have for alternative solutions, and it doesn't massively affect your performance in ranked or even the Ace Cup. I even built a Tenpai deck without spending any money and it was perfectly fine, even with all the URs and without any "new player draw bias" (tho I didn't play it for long. I don't enjoy Tenpai.) Also, in any kind of gacha, saying that "I didn't pull this specific card for this much money" is imo meaningless - especially in a system that allows you to just make the card after pulling enough wrong ones. Expecting to draw one specific card in X money is just not reasonable, digitally or in real packs, especially if you got 6 other high rarity cards that you were looking for. While I see that the game doesn't work well for your specific needs, I personally think that Master Duel gives great opportunity to dedicated players to make lots of decks for literally no money at all, with a good boost early on to make sure you can start with a deck you enjoy playing. And I certainly don't want to see how they would make their money back if they just allow you to use whatever cards you like - that just screams "Monthly Subscription" to me. (Even so, I enjoyed the video very much, thanks for all your engaging content
I don't think F2P players should take the "I spent x amount of dollars and only pulled this many" at face value, but instead convert the money spent to time played. In which case, the point still stands firmly. At 200 gems per daily's, we'd have to play every day for over 2 months for 8k gems. Even if OP decided to simply buy 8k or more gems, we're all still in the same boat of weighing reward vs. investment. At minimum, 8 ten pack pulls will only guarantee 4 URs. Now if I were to say "I spent hundreds of dollars and only pulled 4 URs" or "I've farmed the daily's every day for two months and only pulled 4 URs" the same problem persists. Compound this to Konami's clear incentive to slap UR on anything remotely coveted and/or viable, and the only difference between us and whales is that we spend time. They spend money. I dont think anyone is suggesting they dump all the URs we want in need in our hand and the system is not egregious, but the disparity between reward and investment and the fact that disparity can widen the more you invest definitely warrants some harsh criticism.
@@charlesjefferson4372 I get your angle, but I disagree with the result. My point has nothing to do with any amount of money or time, I was trying to say that getting one very specific card in a random system is... random. You may get that card in your first pull. You may not get it in a thousand pulls. Someone ells may get it in pull number 10, but not notice because they're not looking for it. Similarly, in your 1000 pulls, you probably pulled plenty of great cards but you're unhappy because the very specific one you wanted wasn't part of it. Whether we look at money or time, looking at "I didn't get this one specific card" just doesn't make an argument for the validity of any given gacha system, because it's just cherry picking one random event among many other cards that you did pull. Beyond that, while you're technically right that the absolute minimum from 8 10-pack pulls is only 4 URs, which would be little, based on my experience, you're not getting that minimum. I find it to be rare to pull a 10-pack without any URs, and I find it to be common to find multiple URs in a 10-pack pull. Though that's ultimately just personal experience and not empiric data.
@@emeraldeyes5319 I get you, and you're totally right that random, but I'm also trying to say that doesn't exclude a point centered around that from validity. I would even say it opens the door for further scrutiny. It's that same randomness that makes spending hundreds of dollars or hours to never pull a card you want a completely logical outcome - despite how absurd such a thing should be. It works as intended, but that only makes it worse and a worthy inclusion in context of "What's wrong with Master Duel" Hope that is making sense. Not trying argue you down. Always appreciate a good level-headed discussion.
Improvements they can do is make all packs available. remove the more unnecessary cards. make packs more engine specific,.. like snake eye cards in 1 pack and not have it mixxed with another engine. also... go the dokkan route and give us 1 guaranteed UR per multi opening. also make the pack openings more interesting. the currently animations are so boring
My favorite deck having 2 URs and 14 generic URs from extra deck that only gets used if I don't have a good hand: Damn Konami. You can't read, can't write, can't balance and now you can't count too? If you can become a billionaire, maybe I can too.
1:00 stoping just to nitpick on the fact that neither Duel Links or Master Duel are simulators, they're both their very separate game with many diferences from the card game itself. Ok, now we shall proceed.
it's actually sad this needs to be said. It's one of many reasons people still jump on unofficial simulators as konami refuses to provide an official game that provides all the modern conveniences and all the modern card pool access.
While some points are valid, the average player doesn’t need to change decks frequently like a content creator. Modern decks have enough depth that it takes weeks to master them. During that time, players can earn enough F2P gems to complete 70%-80% of their next deck. The gem prices are very high, but the game itself is generous for an online card game.
it really is frustrating when half of the pack is essentially random and doubly frustrating when it turns out to be a UR. This happened to me twice recently in the span of two months, both times i spend 9k+ gems on packs trying to get Urs i actually want. half of the URs is a copy of the UR i don't care about, the other half are URs from outside the pack and one set of ten pack that doesn't even have any URs in it.. its the most infuriating experience and makes me just want to quit the game. Don't get me started on the defunct packs. I hate gatcha mechanics and i'm not much of a TCG player so the game just comes off as big f*** you. I really hate the argument that "its better than the other thing" Yeah, maybe but i'm judging the game on its own merits and the game is unfairly monetized. Other slightly unrelated rant, why is DM and red eyes not in the legacy packs? like why? blue eyes is.. The three of them are legacy cards, no doubt. Make the legacy cards feel even more useless than they already are. Also, why can't you get the old cosmetics that haven't been brought back for like two years?
I’ve never really had an issue building decks the events give lots of gems. I have spent money on gems but only when they have the discounted bundles. I think it’s a much better system then a lot of other games. Started to play MTG arena and it’s a big slap to the face when you compare they systems master duel is not perfect but it is the best card/pack system.
I think they are equally bad. Arena because you can play for 1 year and still not have enough wildcards to get mythic play sets for a standard or historic deck. And masterduel because you can spend 20 dollars on cards and not pull a single UR in the packs. At least MTG arena rewards you with duplicate protected rares and mythics for participating in the free events.
Also you run into the same deck over and over again, also moves go on for WAYYY to long you should ONLY get 2:00 to make your moves NOT 3, u sit there sometimes for 30 minutes just for someone to make there end board.
I disagree with this take. Bro complains about pull rates when he could have dusted the extra URs from a few pulls into the cards he needed and then says the reason he didn't is because he's making "content". Also complains about having to craft cards from past Secret Packs because they're no longer available, and not being able to build as many new decks as he wants in a single go. That's literally gacha 101, you play daily and you'll get even more gems and CP than what you'd need, as long as you don't build a new deck every day. I've been playing F2P since release date and I can count with a hand the days I've missed a login or my dailies. I have 1.5k UR CP and always have 10k gems stored (I spend extra gems on meta deck packs before they expire). I'm sure those numbers stay a net positive if I craft a new meta deck every 2-3 months, which is more than what I'd enjoy because I usually like to stick with one deck until a drastic change in the format.
Is the opening system (just opening) DL really that worse compared to MD opening system? You have 1/180 to get the UR but you will eventually get it. In MD you could open 180 packs and not get the UR you want. Feels like crafting just compensates the infinite box system.
@@hannsandres Except that in Master Duel, opening 180 packs will guarantee ya some UR cards that ya can dismantle to craft the UR that ya want instead of hoping to pull it
Based on my experience, even if you're unlucky, you will mostly get at least 1 UR/10 packs in Master Duel on average. Using your example, you can get 18 URs from 180 packs quite easily. If you don't get the UR that you want, that's still 6 total UR cards that you can craft for any card you want. (you can dismantle 1 UR card for 10 UR dusts, 30 UR dusts = 1 UR craft). So yeah, it's much better than Duel Links. Especially if you don't spend money.
@@hannsandres That's still 1 UR in 20 packs. And it doesn't happen often. I played Master Duel for 2 years now. Getting UR's to make a deck every month/2 months is not a big of a deal. Meanwhile, you have predatory duel links with no crafting system whatsoever. It took me around 5 months just to build a complete Chronomaly deck since I need all the dream tickets I can get. At least 9000 gems to clear a box in duel links? And you get what? Like 2 URS, 2 SRS you want? Please, 9000 gems can build almost any deck in Master Duel. I spent less to build full power Melodious last month, lmao.
I 100% agree with this. The game is no longer free to play friendly at all. For the first like year and a half of Master Duel new decks only had like 2-3 URs at most.. it wasn't until Tearlaments that more than half of the archetype started becoming URs and it's only gotten worse since then. As a F2P player I have to gems save for months now to build anything recent, and even then you need to get lucky or decraft old decks..Literally every single generic extra deck card or even mediocre generic spells and traps have been UR and their adding like 13 URs to selection packs which makes them even worse than secret packs used to be.
While I agree that it shouldnt be as UR intensive, it's not a problem for old players at all unless you just wanna get every new toy you see. You can easily plan a for new decks since you already have all the staples, and you can just craft what you need. Of course you still have to play and do dailies and events at least semi-regularly. New players will struggle though, but they have a lot of resources in the beginning to build anything they want, as long as they don't waste it,
I think the problem is you craft to unlock a secret pack, buy 10 packs, get one SR that *isn't from the pack* , and then they expect you to farm 1k gems in 24 hours, like if you didn't have anything else to do in your day.
ive been a f2p playyer since day 1 & have been able to build most decks through grinding solo & battle pass. theyre definitely doing everything they can to make you pay for cards but theres ways around it
Regarding the 'unobtained UR's in your decklist are more difficult to pull' theory me and a few friends have had that theory a few times but the real issue rn is UR inflation. its rediculous that a new deck will have 3 of the main normal summons, 2 of the boss monsters, the field spell and a random spell all be UR nowadays.
UR inflation is out of control. I have much better luck when I create a deck of all the UR’s I DONT WANT TO pull in the deck builder. The game gives you the rares it thinks you don’t want.
This is a Content creator's and the hyper fixated on one game people's problem. Not the average players. This is litterally the best version of any (official) online TCG in terms of deck building and card collecting. Every problem you stated came from your need to be able to create any and all decks for the purposes of entertaining your followers. Anyone else with this problem either plays this game and nothing else in their spare time, or has more money than sense.
The only way to fix this issue is to allow players to dismantle into HIGHER RARITIES and for dismantling into the same rarity to be ONE TO ONE. So Ns can be dismantled into Rs at a higher rate, Rs to SRs, SRs into URs. With the rate going up by 1 for each rarity. So it takes 4 Ns to make a UR, 3 Rs to make a UR etc. Also that conspiracy of the game reading ur deck lists are making harder to pull is most likely true. Gotta remember these companies dgaf about us and were money farms to them.
In 2009 (YGO Duel evolution 2) you where paying 1$ per duel. Even dueling against the NPC was 1$, so while i do believe this system is better, it also could have been worse. What Konami should do is to add the options of buying UR craft points instead of just having the gems.
i personally hvnt had this struggle the last few months. At certain points in time ( when i wasn’t pulling much) i had more UR than SR ( think that’s true now) i’d dismantle some cards i dont play anymore. When pulling if i dont find the cards i need id just craft them. But i do play semi daily or atleast log in ( 25+ free gems daily) max the pass and never over top my challenges. I do spend time to time like 2.99 for that extra gem i dont feel like investing time into or the bundles when they release. I also complete all events. Witch may influence my economy
I'm a similar position where I play about semi daily and have more UR dust then Sr dust. It's probably the most generous thing with gacha I played, but it does help that I just don't care for most of the really ur heavy decks or I already have the generic urs or I am getting more then one deck variation out of the urs.
On surveys, I always suggest an alternate small ranked ladder that is a Time Wizard format (changes every month), and the rewards for this ladder can be SR and UR dust instead of gems. It doesn't even need to be a lot of dust, just the option to play some ranked Time Wizard for some prizes (to justify creating Time Wizard decks) would already be really cool.
I've been playing Master Duel since last Spring and have at least 18 decks built and have never spent ANY real-life money on MD. Here's what Konami needs to do to improve Master Duel: 1. MAKE ALT ART CARDS CRAFTABLE. kinda annoying that you cannot craft alternate art cards in MD. 2. MAKE ALL CARDS IN A SECRET PACK ACTUALLY FROM THAT SECRET PACK. 3. INCREASE THE ODDS FOR GLOSSY RARES AND ROYAL RARES. they added a mass generate feature where you can specify a rarity (Glossy or Royal) and an amount of CP to spend, then it crafts copies of the card until it either uses up all the specified CP or crafts a card of the specified rarity (and then you get the remaining CP back). i spent 300 SR CP to have it mass generate copies of Uria (300 CP is 10 copies), requesting a Royal Rare and DIDNT EVEN GET A GLOSSY. that is TERRIBLE. if you spend at least 10 crafts worth of CP on this, it should GUARANTEE a Glossy at minimum, with very good odds of a Royal as well. 4. ADD A SPECIAL PACK THAT ONLY CONTAINS BANNED CARDS (for people wanting to play older formats), 5. ADD A RARITY UPGRADE FEATURE that allows you to upgrade a Normal Rare into a Rare or Glossy, a Rare into a Super Rare or Glossy, A Super Rare into a UR, Glossy, or Royal, a UR into a Glossy or Royal, or any Glossy (NR, R, SR, or UR) into a Royal. 5. NO MORE DROPPING RANKS CUZ YOU LOST A DUEL IN PLATINUM OR HIGHER, OR IN A TOURNAMENT LIKE THE DUELIST CUP. once you reach a rank on the Ladder, you should NOT be able to EVER go below it again (except when a new season starts at the end of the month), and this also goes for DLv. levels in tournaments.
I agree with the crafting Royals one hard, i spent 7-8 months grinding free to play to get a Royal finish Kashtira Arise-Heart. I did finally get the Royal Arise-Heart after a long, long time and over 1000 UR dust spent on it (and that's good odds). This was before the Kashtira secret pack so i had to craft it instead of being able to increase my odds by pulling it. Also the dropping ranks system is also cancer, I'll be at Master 2 and just because i get Maxx "C"'d a few games in a row with no response in hand, all of a sudden I'm Master 4 and i need to win over 10 more games just to get back to where i was a few games ago, all due to bad luck (and Maxx "C" being stupidly unfair).
I have somewhat of a solution that I feel would be reasonable. Every time you pull a card, you get the same amount of points you'd get from reducing them. So let's say you pulled an SR. You'd get the SR and the 10 points. This way if it's something you dont want, you can essentially get 20 points instead of just the 10.
i dont think its so bad since master duel is pretty good to get your first deck. i should know as i created a endymion deck and it required a lot of UR dust. ive never needed to spend any money honestly and when you get your main deck, the best thing to go for after are the universal staples like ash blossom, effect vieler, infinite imperm ect ect. i am fine with how master duel does it... i just wish they would make ever pack availible instead of being on a rotation
2 futher points they REALLY need to change. 1. They need to allow you to dismantle cards found in the legacy packs because they are pretty pointless especially winning these pack as rewards. 2. The duel pass needs to be every month, you can finish the duel pass in 2-3 weeks and just have nothing then for 2 month 🤷♂️
Master Duel's main problem is definitely the format and how reptitive and tiresome duels can be. The card generation system is generous enough. I'm sure most players agree that as long as you're active enough, you're able to craft most meta decks plus a few you like. What's the point of rewarding inactive players anyway?
the comparison between the previous game and this one is exactly why it's stupid and dangerous for people to say "it's pretty good because it's not X" style statements. you see that sentiment phrased in a ton of ways all over the place being used to defend a ton of stuff. as a 34 year old gamer I'm insanely sick of having heard this time and time again over the years... things can be better than ever before and still have clear room for improvement. hell, sometimes things can be the best they've been in some specific arena and still be garbage lol
Like others have pointed out, the game is actually very friendly to F2P players like me. I've played other digital card games like shadowverse and let me tell you, not only are the pull rates worse in that game, the crafting system is way more brutal and on top of that cards rotate out of standard so you can grind a lot for that one deck you wanted to play, just for half the cards the become basically worthless. Dismantling cards in that game also doesn't convert well into new cards. So yeah, master duel is actually completely fine in this regard IMO. As someone that plays F2P, I have 4 decks I typically use and usually have 1 or two decks I aim to build that usually take about a month or two to get enough pulls/dust to play. I'm also fairly casual, only really playing during event periods and doing daily stuff. I think content creators feel it more because they need completely new decks more often, but to that I say 'well, it's your job' so having to invest money in it for quick access to high rarity cards. That said, I do think legacy pack cards should be dismantilable, at least the ones you have more than 3 of. Also they might want to have some more guaranteed inside the pack ratios to make it more fair for those that do spend money. As a F2P player, I don't mind the outside the pack pulls but I can imagine spending money on a pack just for half of the pack being worthless to you can be frustrating.
Pro tip skip the pack animations you get better RNG if you skip on opening 10 packs skip as soon as possible you'll get better results. sounds stupid but got test this with watching the animations big difference
This is why Masterduel will NEVER replace the TCG/OCG physical card game. It is why most people can't keep up without spending loads of money for cards you can't actually hold. They cycle their banlist so often so people dismantle cards for 1/3 the value, get the new deck, then they hit it, cycle repeats and you never gain ground. Oh and best of one blows.
Who cares. The same thing happens in the TCG .. for example the new mulcharmys or whatever .. 400-450$ for a playset .. next week banned and ur 450 dollar "investment" is now 25$ at best 😂 Just throwing out a random example of stuff that's happened in the past. I haven't touched the TCG since monarch/kozmo format and for good reason. Master duel brought me back and I'm like 90% F2P the only bundles I've ever bought is the special deal ones and I have over 65 decks now including basically every meta deck that's been relevant. MD gives you back the full UR when they do their banlists btw .. only thing that is annoying is when they ban something or limit to 1/2 and bring it back to 3. Besides that idc. MD >>>>>> TCG every day of the week and twice on Sunday. It even showed at worlds with how many more people tuned into the MD finals over the TCG finals 😆
I think the prices are pretty fair compared to other games. The real problem is the card pool. Maxx C legality and the out dated pool for starters. Also no ranked best 2 of 3? No alternative formats? If they had Goat format available day one the game would still be topping twitch as the most streamed game with ease. Konami seems to not understand what they have.
Honestly, the system is really good. I play since day 1, and you can build a different deck every 2 months (without events) only doing the dailies. Eventually, you are not gonna need anymore staples, and that's help a lot. BUT, there's no real reason to build non-standard decks. If you wanna play old formats, you are cooked. You have to craft everything, so rip economy.
I quit after 3 months of inception. Having to delete a whole deck AND grind out to get another deck makes it toxic. I play in real life no way I’m spending my money on digital. Konami outside of Japan DOES NOT RESPECT THE CONSUMER in EVERY aspect of the game!
I will never ever spend a cent on digital packs. I have way too much to collect in real life, I'd never waste my money there so if it's not F2P friendly I just don't play it. Having a lot of fun with Pokemon Pocket at the moment at least. Made my current best deck within the first week of playing :V
I've played F2P since release on mobile. I'm not constantly getting new decks but I have all the cosmetics I want, tons of dust, and I'm at the deck cap limit. I get how playing competitively might be expensive but I really feel like it's only this bad with draft formats and stuff. I'm pretty sure this is the best crafting system of any digital card game.
I’ve played duel links for 8 years and my wife and I went over how much I spent on this damn game. A little over $3k in that amount of time. Sickening. It’s a slow burn and you don’t realize how fast it can all add up with dollars here and there.
I propose 2 systems, the dusting past the playset, and the rarity upgrading. If you own 10 of the same card in any one rarity, you can compound them into the same card but with one higher rarity level. This motivates collectos and competitors alike, while keeping konami honest because it would look pretty bad if everyone would have maxed out rarities of certain bad cards. But even if they wanted to do that, this would alleviate it: the option of either: -dust 5 cards of any one rarity into another random card of the same rarity from the master set. -dust 25 cards of any one rarity into a specific card of the same rarity. -dust 100 cards of any rarity turned into 1 random card of the next rarity. Caveat: crafted cards dont turn into cards already in playsets, but cards cant be dusted if you dont own the playset.
I was so upset when I tried to see if Dragon Rulers had a secret pack and found out that they didn't have one. The deck I was gonna make was almost all SR and UR cards so I pivoted to just picking one of the rulers and either making some wind attribute deck or a water xyz deck.
I mean I will say that Duel Links’ pack system is better technically since you are guaranteed to get at least one or two of a certain card instead of gambling. Though they probably unbanned heavy duster because of the 2014 format.
Just simply Implement "Boost Focus" for pack opening Konami, so you have higher chance of getting the UR for Your archetype that you want out of the 3 archetypes... at least I can build nostalgia Yugi's card and not constantly have UR of Melodious and vice versa for Melodious players
Me and my friends have experienced glitches in the game where cards/mechanics won't activate even when we meet the requirements. For example when I entered my battle phase and declared a direct attack the first attack went through just fine but my friend on the phone was upset that he had a Battle Fader in his hand and it would activate. Another example is when I tried Accel Synchroing with Phonon Pulse Dragon I changed his level via his effect but even though I was in the main phase 1 the game wouldn't let me Synchro. When the friend I was dueling who is a veteran of the game couldn't figure out why checking his hand, field, and graveyard and noting he had played nothing that would stop the summon. Me and my friends run into problems like this semi frequently.
I feel like this is pretty much an exclusive problem for content creator. I play almost everyday for a couple of minutes, have 20+ meta decks and 3 GOAT format decks, yet I still have 600+ UR dust and 1000+ SR dust. I have not spend a single dime after 2 years, to the point that I actually feel bad for playing such a polish game from my childhood while I give nothing back to the devs.
I'd say that, despite all the complaints, MD has definitely the best Gacha system, hands down. Sure it is rigged, sure it is luck based, sure it is expensive but hey, F2P side of the game is really friendly to all players. Each month guarantees you 8k gems if you just do dailies and events and climb a bit on the ladder, and even dailies can be accumulated for up to 3 days. On top, having a crafting system just doesn't trash your grind at all. And speaking of grinding, the only sad part for me I'd say is when you really spend like 10k gems for just 4-5 URs, which now it definitely means you can't do anything with the gems you collected but that can happen sometimes and sometimes pack opening goes smooth and fine. I am satisfied with MD's shop system, but I think they should avoid making it too much rigged for two reasons: One, to avoid legal issues cause it definitely goes into a scam area. Two, people would love to stick into the game more if they actually build their decks they're looking for.
The biggest issue with Master Duel I would say is that it is still a staggered release from the other formats. It doesn't make sense anymore for any modern Yu-Gi-Oh format to not be a simultaneous global release for new sets. WotC has been able to do this decades with Magic, Konami could easily do it with Yu-Gi-Oh if not for blatant corporate greed.
Yes. Global release. Every other franchise does this. Why is Yugioh pretending there’s no internet and translating cards takes several months conducted by mail? They just like to use the analytics to rarity bump the sets to exploit their pathetic pay pig bootlicking player base.
Don’t spend your gems on every meta deck and you’ll be fine honestly. You don’t have to pay for the battle pass using real money and that’s some extra it’s right there too. I’m fine with the crafting system I do want to dismantle legacy cards even for 5 UR dust would be fine. I have 10+ copy of URs that I can’t dismantle. Most of the URs are staples anyway
Two things I wish they also would do is be able to get a few ur or sr crafting point after each duel on ranks and let us dismantle the cards you get from the ticket you get. I have a lot of useless ur cards that I can't dismantle.
Its exactly why i stop playing MD 1year ago. All deck are so expensive and the reward (gem) gain are so little in the end if u want to play multiple deck it almost impossible eccept if you spend hundred of dollar
They could have a wishlist feature. You pick out certain cards that have a slightly higher chance of being pulled. Other games have similar mechanics and they seem to work fine
my way around this is going into decks , copy from public deck , search the specific card I'm looking for , then copy the entire deck lol , craft the card i need then delete deck.
Honestly purchasable UR Crafting Points where 10 Points for 100 gems seems very ideal for Master Duel. It'd give more options to building Decks, but have the downside of not being able to pull for other rarities in packs
I think this is my main issue and the fact there’s no true casual mode. What I mean is that to my knowledge there isn’t a mode that bans meta decks or strong cards forcing the person to be more creative or make a more casual friendly decks. It’s meta or nothing and this goes for IRL as well. If you don’t have a meta deck then you won’t have fun.
I'd love to see a team battle between content creators. Randomly select teams and spin a wheel for their decks. Ruxin, gage, cimo, and MBT would be fun.
I think they should do what Pokemon tcg pocket does and lets you open two free packs a day. It would not only give a greater reason to keep coming back but also give you a taste and make you more likely to buy more packs with the benjamins.
I believe Master Duel should implement a Formal option, like if you select Goat Format the card pool, and the banned list of that time will pull up. I think this would breathe new life into Master Duel, and could bring in new players to the game since the older formats are easier to understand/play.
I run a galaxy-photon deck. Flame swordsman I would say is the best starting/broke md structure deck. But I know I will never run any rogue or tier 3 deck and even higgher because the cards will be very expensive and difficult to getm

pull from selection packs not secret packs, if you are late and missed that selection pack where those cards were, bad luck for you. My biggest issue with master duel is not being able to dismantle cards from legacy packs and other like it, I have so many SRs and URs that I’ll never play and could absolutely use the dust for them to finish off a couple decks I have that are really close to being finished I’m just missing a couple UR cards here and there
I don't mind not being able to dust them, rather pulling more than a playset of them on top on that
If to pull more copies they should guarantee a higher foil and/or rollover into more packs
@esoteric7990 This! I have 4-5 copies of a few cards from legacy packs, and it just annoys the hell out of me.
I've got a lot of goat/edison format from legacy packs

@@esoteric7990I feel like instead it should be u can’t dismantle from legacy packs unless u have more then 3
The sad part is that it's still way cheaper to build a meta deck in MD than TCG.

Yes. And I hate that I have to spend UR dust on these older cards that are only good in those formats, which Master Duel doesn’t even support!
This is the actual problem. For a F2P game, Master Duel is actually quite player friendly. I haven't spent a dime on the game since launch and have plenty of high rarity decks. I would play so much more of this game if it had older formats.
True
AGREE KONAMI MUST LISTEN and put that suggestion on master duel or may another apps for that.
The problem is that a UR is not guaranteed every 10 packs 💀
Totally it's stupid that you get zero ur then in the guaranteed ur pack you could get only one
Happen to me right now. Out of 5 3 of it i see this. Come on. Then come confirmed UR only 1 UR.
That’s why I Quit.
So many days grinding for hours to get a 10 pull just to get slapped in the face with 0 UR’s and nothing for my effort.
URflation plus rigged gacha 🗿
Gems are horrendous to get if you don't play Masterduel daily. Those daily gems and event gems really add up.
Thats most gachas tbf
It is not enough.
Agreed 💯% I'm f2p and it takes me months to build one decent deck but I agree ruxin should play every day do the daily and events and buy the battle pass but he's a content creator and likely doesn't have a lot of time on top of other things but fortunately doing what he does brings in money enough to support his content

The biggest bullshit in this game is the secret pack only being the last 4 cards of a pack. That is infuriating…
As someone who plays Masterduel since Day 1 and has only spent 50 bucks on it:
You can build multiple decks as long as you get the gems from events.
Its getting harder these days because Konami is UR taxing newer decks more and more but its still possible to build multiple decks that you were priced out in the TCG.
That said, theres still ways to improve the system and I have these 2 proposals:
Just like Selection Packs, Secret Packs will only contain cards from the Secret Pack, not 4 from the pack, 4 random ones and every 10 Pack opening, you are guaranteed atleast 1 UR.

If you just lacking some cards better create it rather than purchase to get exact cards provided you have enough dust
@@jofx4051 It’s the principle of the matter is what i’m getting at. I don’t know the dollar amounts, but if i’m building a deck in the tcg, if I don’t pull something I need I can just buy it.

78k and 56k in N and R.....uh, for what lmfao.
I just hope they makes the daily missions can be done on all others modes not only ranked
Some missions don't even work for me
Fortunately, some of the URs in a deck are considered staples in modern so once you get 3x of them, you can play them in any deck afterwards.

Engage was never banned in MD. It was only limited.

Yes, being guaranteed is nice. But overall they both suck🤣
being guaranteed is small consolation when it still takes an eternity.

I've been f2p since Day 1 and on Switch too. You will receive 3k+ gems each month via Login and Daily Missions, and more gems via Event. - No proper Test Mode if the Deck Builder to test your decks
- The format is not balanced for best of 1, with Maxx C being the most aggregious example
- 1 bad UR luck from the monthly 10K gems sets you pack permanently on your UR points, get 2 and and you have a very hard time crafting a new deck, even with dismantling excess UR cards
- A lack of options to play the game, especially for casuals. Repeating events does not help either
- Increasingly becoming more greedy with the URs
- I just found myself doing the dailies for the free gems, not enjoying the game anymore so I decided I could spent my time better. After going through the FOMO phase I do not regret uninstalling the game. It would need to see a lot of changes if it wants to get me back playing the game again.

Good video. Personally I think Konami does need to do something eventually because it’s hard for new players to catch up on all the staple cards they need.
Some ideas I have
I have like 8 blue-eyes white dragons from legacy packs…

I've been f2p for a year now and have 4 full decks, staples to choose from, never spent a cent.
The trick is getting lucky.
It's a good draw if I get 1 UR (even if I don't need that one) from a 10 pack.
Every 10 pack should have a "Min of 1 UR" protection. Getting it at your next 10 pack, which is 20$ is restarted.

Masterduel incentivizes you to play daily to earn those gems. It's not bad for the everyday players who stick to a couple of decks, but pretty rough for content creators who make content weekly.
Those special packs come back eventually. Gotta get some fomo for it's initial release.
They just spend a bit problem solved...
Eh I'd say it's easier for content creators imo since they're more likely to have more disposable money than the average player
I don't enjoy Tenpai.)
Also, in any kind of gacha, saying that "I didn't pull this specific card for this much money" is imo meaningless - especially in a system that allows you to just make the card after pulling enough wrong ones.
It works as intended, but that only makes it worse and a worthy inclusion in context of "What's wrong with Master Duel"
Hope that is making sense. Not trying argue you down. Always appreciate a good level-headed discussion.
As a Branded enthusiast I lost count of how many URs I have 😅 this game needs to be reworked on rarity’s
My favorite deck having 2 URs and 14 generic URs from extra deck that only gets used if I don't have a good hand:
Damn Konami.
I'm at 5:15 and so far it just seems like ur problem is that this game isn't pay to win
“I spent all this money and still don’t have what I want” 😂
it really is frustrating when half of the pack is essentially random and doubly frustrating when it turns out to be a UR.
Some years ago I heard someone talking about duel links algorithm and theorizing how the game recognized what ur you wanted after the 1st restart
New players will struggle though, but they have a lot of resources in the beginning to build anything they want, as long as they don't waste it,
2-3 UR monsters, 3-4 UR staples, 3-4 UR extra deck cards. No deck only had 3 UR's

Anyone should be able to make more then 3 or 4 decks without having to grind the game.
So what you're saying is, if you're a fairy player you can't have Arch Lord Kristia
Dueling nexcus is better
This is also bad for casual players. Its the reson I quit, the UR inflation is out of hand
I really want a permanent edison and/or goat BUT PERMANENT!
And Konami don't even care because every single creator been promoting it while saying they hate it at the sametime
This is why fan dueling simulators are so important. Even just testing cards before you drop UR dust or spend real money is impossible on Master Duel
i dont think its so bad since master duel is pretty good to get your first deck. i should know as i created a endymion deck and it required a lot of UR dust. ive never needed to spend any money honestly and when you get your main deck, the best thing to go for after are the universal staples like ash blossom, effect vieler, infinite imperm ect ect. i am fine with how master duel does it... i just wish they would make ever pack availible instead of being on a rotation
True, I actually really like the model Master Duel uses, but sets being locked sometimes irks me. That just feels... off.
The duel pass is way to Fucking grindy now and we need to retain our mission progress even if we concede
@@isidoreaerys8745 i finished it in like a day on xyz link event pretty easy if i can farm plat players scrubs, maybe start getting better?
Master Duel's main problem is definitely the format and how reptitive and tiresome duels can be. The card generation system is generous enough. I'm sure most players agree that as long as you're active enough, you're able to craft most meta decks plus a few you like. What's the point of rewarding inactive players anyway?
100% couldn't agree more here
the comparison between the previous game and this one is exactly why it's stupid and dangerous for people to say "it's pretty good because it's not X" style statements. you see that sentiment phrased in a ton of ways all over the place being used to defend a ton of stuff. as a 34 year old gamer I'm insanely sick of having heard this time and time again over the years... things can be better than ever before and still have clear room for improvement. hell, sometimes things can be the best they've been in some specific arena and still be garbage lol
THE PROBLEM WITH MASTER DUEL IS THEY NEED TO SEPARATE DECK FORMATS IN RANKED AND CASUAL DUELS
At least in Secret packs you can get like 3 or 4 URs in one 10 pull but dear god, good luck getting more than 1 maybe 2 URs in any feature packs
400-450$ for a playset .. next week banned and ur 450 dollar "investment" is now 25$ at best 😂
Just throwing out a random example of stuff that's happened in the past.
At this point in time I'm replaying LotD, even if there's cards not in it that should be and is outdated.
But even if they wanted to do that, this would alleviate it:
the option of either:
-dust 5 cards of any one rarity into another random card of the same rarity from the master set.
I grind out the points and never spend money for cards
Same, this guy just complains cause he wants a lot of decks without making daily missions XD
I opened 199 packs in Master Duel to get a Shi En. That was the first copy.
Two things I wish they also would do is be able to get a few ur or sr crafting point after each duel on ranks and let us dismantle the cards you get from the ticket you get. I have a lot of useless ur cards that I can't dismantle.
id have a child just to sell their soul for the ability to convert dust into other dust
using chimera pack opening footage during this is giving me flashbacks
I played it right from the day it released and never spend a single penny .
