tbf the nba and mlb have Toronto in their leagues. But they are the world champs. Just because other countries don't participate doesn't mean they aren't world champs

Perhaps but it's the one sport where you could reasonably argue it's appropriate since football is so dependent on all 11 players executing nearly perfectly on every play.
Now times that by like 50 plays a game times 20 if you make and win the SB.
