Great video Max, very helpful, it took me about 15 minutes to get it replaced. One comment, on the 2014 model is a lot easier since you don't have to remove the blue wire with the sensor. It's not there anymore; I guess they decided to place it behind the filter box.
Thank you sooo much! To add: I’d say don’t pull the mats back until you unscrew the bolts bc mine fell behind where the floor plate is. Had to use a magnet stick to get to it. Also, my 2012 does not have the second hook up you mentioned after you unplugged the light. Overall, It was tough putting back in with one hand, have to use a counter weight physics approach (use the filter itself to defy gravity) and slide the white brackets at the same time bc the filter is snug. I had to use a throw blanket to ease the contortion of laying on my back throughout. Def not for folks w back issues. Using both hands is not an option, the angle is too awkward. Took 20 min tops, bc I had to get my fan set up outside my driveway, no sweating allowed..lol Cabin air is sooo much cleaner, no smell! Do NOT pay a dealer to do this!! This girl did it and so can anyone thanks to this video!!!!

When I start my AC, i get a burnt smell for 2 min and later i am not sure if my noise gets use to it or its not occurring..!!!! does changing Cabin Air filter help?????? I own C300 2010 and this process is same for my car .. Please advise and really appreciate your effort in posting this video .!! helpful for all of us.. Good health to you and your family.!!!

Gregory Webber I thought I was just battling due to my limited skill, I have a C320cdi. As it is I need to replace the pipe that connects the two engine air filters. I found it damaged but understood why when I was pushing it back on
Heads up the aftermarket replacement filters do not fit well. I have found them to not have the same shape and at times not use the guide pins at the top. I personally would source an OEM filter in this case.
May I ask what the advantage of implementing the air filter from behind the engine instead of in the front like other cars? I've noticed that the filter is bigger than others.

Nevertheless is very inconvenient and embarrassing when I have other people in the car. I have always serviced my car at the an authorized MB dealership but the odor has always return. Wondering if you have ever experienced that in yours. I have a 2010 C-Class 4MATIC. Thank you so much for any advice or info you might have. Happy 4th of July. mr08tsx hey try using a anti bacterial Lysol type spray in your air intake with your fan running on max on outside air, a windows rolled down, spray a half can on air intake (the cowl between windshield and hood). May have to do a few times over a few weeks, but will eventually help your problem, which is bacteria in air system
chris42000000 , Thank you for your advice. It's very odd to me that this is a recurrent problem. I've never had such a problem with my previous cars as I now have with my C class. Amazes me that the C class has this issue.
I have a C200 W204 2009 Model and have the same same problem. I have just bought a new pollen filter and air cabin filter and I hope this will sort it out
mr08tsx You can't leave it on recirculation all ot the time or the moisture doesn't dry up. That moisture molds or mildew forms causing the foul spell and perhaps even medical issues.
Does anyone know if car air filters include HEPA filtering? I would like the same functionality in the car air filter as our indoor portable HEPA air purifier.
I've done this job twice on my 2008 C-class. The sliding white clip is a poor design. I would rather deal with it rather than getting ripped off at the dealer. Same thing with Mercedes' Service A and Service B maintenance. I never had it done because all they do is check to see if the lights and wipers are working and the door hinges are not squeaking, etc... For $200 or so. I can only imagine how much extra it would cost if you needed a wiper blade or tail light bulb.
