It absolutely is an unpredictable year. It’s between Ukraine, Croatia, Switzerland, The Netherlands, and Italy. At least. I think Greece might be pretty high up, too.
My main unpopular opinion is that Croatia is overhyped in the sense that everyone is talking about it winning (which I can see) yet no one is talking about how rough the vocals are every time he preforms it live, yet will call out other countries for having similarly rough vocals (kinda like Finland last year)
Croatia my number one song, but I have an (almost) opposite opinion. I think people are giving this a pass on the vocals and will vote for this heavily. However, I don't know how this is going to win because it's banking on the jury vote being split between several countries such as Switzerland and Ukraine. Also, there is a strong following for the Netherlands which would take more televotes away from Croatia. I get the feeling that Italy or Ukraine might win because both will do decent with both jury and televotes.
his vocals were rough in dora but he had already wildly improved between the semi and the final (in TWO DAYS time!) and he also sounded much better in madrid a week ago tho. the man has been getting coached and i'm hopeful he will sound great in a month if he keeps up with that work tbh.
People liked Spain last year also and I already said that Europe wouldn’t get it and it would end up on the bottom. People said I was crazy but I was right
Honestly people should just stop confirming that an act will not qualify. Have we not learned anything from Belgium 2023, Moldova 2021, Poland 2023, and Australia 2023??? Give it a rest people.
I'm rooting for Italy but I'm having a hard time believing it will win. I don't think it's winning the juries and it could possibly be outside the televote top5. I really want to be wrong but I think it'll do terrible in eastern european and balkan countries.
I am most interested to see how Luxembourg does and see whether this encourages Slovakia or one of the microstates having a re-think on their position on the Contest. It's absolutely fascinating, they've NEVER been in a Semi-Final and I remember watching their last entry (1993, they were 20th) at the time. I would like to see a country that hasn't won recently winning, but I'm not holding my breath.
Slovakia would like to return but our pro-russian and homophobic government cut funding public TV RTVS. They also want to turn public television into state television (like TVP in Poland during the PiS era), which means that the government will decide what RTVS will broadcast. So we probably won't participate for the next 4 years until next elections. Pretty sad, that we are going into such isolation...
i see switserland underperforming in the televote. as much as i appreciate the song, the whole package (audio + visuals) might be too chaotic for the general public
Exactly, much more so when casuals only got one time to see and process it in the Grand Final, and that shift between rap and opera might throw off some people viewing it as a chaotic combo imo.
There is also another risk with Nemo. Under many recent photos (e.g. from Madrid pre-party) Nemo was heavily criticized for his fashion choices (e.g., the tulle frill pastel dresses and baseball hats that seem to be his uniform) - it is called ugly, juvenile, grandma meets grandchild and many other not so nice things. For many people (especially older folks) who are not particularly understanding towards NB identities, he may be too "weirdo" and "gen Z 56th gender personified" and may lose their potential votes. As cruel as it sounds, I am afraid he would need to tone down his NB expression, especially in fashion, to be digestible for the less tolerant folk.
@@berlineczka i feel like songs like these tend to work well when it's an all-out message song (e.g. conchita wurst or verka), but i fear that this one is too crazy for many, while not being campy/cheesy/catchy enough for voters that usually go for that type of entry. it falls right in between that mainstream/non-mainstream category and i'm not entirely sure if that is the right place to be
When Italy sends ballads they're boring and too cliché, when italy sends bops they're too basic and will get lost among other (female) bops. When italy has little to no staging they are boring, when italy has dancers its still not convincing enough... They can never win i guess....
I understand you very well. Starting from 2020 Ukraine has finally started to send songs in Ukrainian. They had a folk element, as that's what the people of Ukraine connect to these days in the context of russians trying to wipe us out along with our culture. Already in 2022 eurofans were complaining of our songs being the same despite Go_A and Kalush Orchestra were in different genres. Then last year we sent a classical R&B in English and people massively hated it for "not being Ukrainian in the slightest". This year we sent the song in Ukrainian with gospel/church music as a core genre and people are complaining again and write "stop sending the same ethnic thing for years". It's a bit annoying really.
Where did you hear anyone saying Italian bops get lost amongst other bops? Italy never sends bops. If you are talking about La Noia, I argue this is not a bop. The song is too deep, as too many emotional parts, to only be a bop. And no one is saying it will get lost in the competition. About the dancers, yes when Italy has them, they bring nothing. If I recall well, only Mahmood and Marco had dancers recently. These songs, and especially these artists, their charisma and their interpretations did not need anyone on stage with them. And yes, Italy's staging is never mind blowing. But that's ok, since the songs and artists are always at least good, and more often than not great. It's crazy that anyone might even consider that Italy is criticised too harshly when everyone has been singing its praises for years.
Parla, la gente purtroppo parla, non sa di che c… Italy will do great this year imo! Unless the pull Occidentally’s Karma type of staging and have Angelia dance with a monkey.
People are so salty because Italy always gets lots of jury votes as if they haven't been constantly sending quality songs over the years. Eurovision literally exists because of Sanremo. But of course people will hate, just like with Sweden.
The way I see it: Italy is almost too good for Eurovision. Especially this year. This is one of the reasons if not the main reason why everybody starts criticising Italy for anything.
@@janap8019 I can’t deny the love of course, it’s great. And I’m really grateful for that. But this year I’m seeing lots of “Italy overrated because it’s Italy” all around. Never seen so much. Btw it’s ok we need to be patient 😂 best of luck!❤️
@@janap8019on the very surface maybe. But I‘ve noticed very subtle slightly condescending / almost annoyed reactions and do not feel that the most influencial ESC communities are really behind her (and Italy). Because objectively this song, performance, vocals, everything kind of declassifies the rest.
@@Werderina this I have seen against most artist, it is nothing that is special against Italy, I follow comments on other countries too, there are such comments that you mention against them too, so it is not personal, and I can't feel sorry for Italy, because they recently won and they are high in the ranking odds so I don't really get this...even if Italy wins or not it is a good song but there are other many good songs this year too...I would like to see a country that hasn't won, to win, doesn't matter who, we are here just to enjoy the show, it is not a matter of life or death😊
I love this year. It's almost as if 2024 decided to be like "never let them know your next move". It is legit impossible to predict top 10 before we enter the semi final and I'm here for it!
I'm italian and honestly I don't get all the hype about Italy, I'm already bored by that song, I prefer Marina Satti's song for example and I like San Marino entry very much, can't wait to see their performance and Nemo's, too. Angelina Mango said her performance is going to be "very free" so I think she won't do much basically. I think we (Italy) have always had poor staging except for when we had Maneskin, but then they just did their thing
She’s preparing the stage with Rosalia choreographer. I think this year we will have a good stage. Maybe we will not win, but the effort is there. Best of luck everyone! Love from ❤🇮🇹
My unpopular opinion is that the Netherlands are extremely overrated. Most of the streams are probably from Germany (where Joost recently had a number one hit) and from the Netherlands. I think it will qualify and finish mid-table.
This is really an unpopular opinion! But I agree. All the time I‘ve asking myself what the f people see in this entry? The whole composition - music, vocals, lyrics are just questionable imo. Now people bring up the sad history of the singer early orphaned and his song‘s being about his dad. Yes. It’s sad. But I still can‘t like the music.
@@knutagon I hope they don’t do that, it’s always better to stay true to yourself. We already have lots of cheesy English lyrics to listen to. #votefornativelanguages
@@in_wino_veritasRight. Some folks are getting scared that Germany (means German money) could leave the contest. Many people have already lost interest in the competition… coming last everytime is considered worse than not participating. So since the public does not like the song (as usually) juries will „do something“ - give some pity points that hurt nobody. Guess it will be 24th place in the end.
My unpopular opinion: UK is terrible. It sounds dated (like 80's side B cassette filler song) and like music for the elevator. I cannot stand the bells in the chorus, it make it sound like a Christmas song from temu. The spoken part is the only thing that I can stand in this song (which is a shame, I really like Years and Years stuff, but this sing just ain't it).
I am a bit on you with this. I still think Belgium will Q though. The rest I can very well see. Just from experience there is always a weird q and a shock nq. San Marino and Austria could be just be them.
Austria might not qualify cause her voice on pre-party was so off. She is in the first half. Second half has crazy countries. Netherlands Norway are 100% in the final. Nutsa’s voice is crazy and she can qualify easily leaving Austria in the shadow. Estonia will qualify as well cause is something fun. San Marino with a good staging can qualify.
I wonder if Italy's bad hosting in 2022 can encourage some juries not to give so many points to Angelina. What do you think? If "La Noia" flopped, could this be one of the possible reasons? Or is this just a song that is hyped up in the bubble, but does not deserve to win, even if the execution (staging included) is impeccable?
I'm staunchly 50/50 on what will happen with Australia. The end result could win a lot of people over and bam they're in the final but it could also just not resonate with enough people. I'm not super into the song but I'm gonna still give it a chance come rehearsals.
Also another unpopular opinion: Norway should be a potential winner and it’s sad y’all don’t see that for them😞✊ Im hoping the locals surprisingly eat it up Y’all keep saying it’s going to do a Eaea but this kinda singing isn’t the crazy to people that enjoy rock music. Well that’s what I’m telling myself anyway🤠👍
Norway is marvellous but look how the juries treated Go_A which to me is their direct counterpart. Unfortunately without the top 4 jury vote one cannot win, so basically it ends there.
norway is my winner and i still have some faith because unlike last year, there isn't a lot of songs going to cannibalize each other for the metalhead vote, it's really between them and croatia. and the folk fan vote isn't to be neglected either although there's quite a few flavourful songs to pick from for this one so it depends what's the favoured genres in the fusion-y entries
@@larysacherner312 I think Norway here has the advantage over Go_A because the style of singing is a bit more familiar/palatable to pop-producer juries. Both are talented vocalists, but unfortuanately that Slavic-style technqiue Kateryna uses was underappreciated by juries who went for more Western ballad styles like France and Switzerland.
@@adithibalaji4360 I'm not sure. I saw multiple videos from the Western reactors where they complain about " screaming" and in the comments Norwegians saying she's using their traditional folk technique, so I'm afraid it's practically the same situation.
Unpopular opinion : Italy wasnt public's fave back at home ,she did not win San Remo public's vote either ,she was 2nd there which means Italia never gave her the trophy at San Remo so why should Europe DO the thing Italy never did in first place ?.Top 5 for sure ,but not a winner.
Greek guy here. Most of the opinions here weren't THAT unpopular, it wasn't that someone said "Albania will win this year". Personal favorites were that Norway will pull a Blanca Paloma, and Finland will NQ. What I think? Every year there's a favorite that flops badly, and a hidden in the bottom country will rise. For the first part I see Belgium...or Greece , please God no (I am Greek as I said but I fear if the song will come across to the public) Cool earings!
San Marino!!!!! People need to listen to Megara - they are amazing! And agree with you that Australia is going to qualify. They can do staging. I love both of those songs so much.
Unless we go "weirdo" (like Toy or Zitti, and there are too many candidates for that throne, I think that Italy and Ukraine are the songs that intersect the most different tastes in eurofans, juries and constant and casual televoters. To how many are they the favourite?...
@@trildi I mean not the usual ESC winner. Do not get me wrong, I am going to see Maneskin on concert in August. But Toy, Zitti or Hard Rock Halkellujah are not the expected ESC winner, like Tattoo or Arcade.
@@ruicarreteiro1439 I voted for Maneskin and definitely had 90% confidence it was the winner that year. They were lightning in a bottle, no other song had that energy that year.
Also I know doing too much but I have another one: I don’t think both Netherlands and Croatia will get top 5 in the televote and definitely both aren’t getting in the top 3. One is going to tank the other one slightly depending on who has the stronger package
Could be. I think it might depend on staging. I can see them pulling completely different demographics if Marko gets a bit more sleek and more rock (the rock vote would be firmly in his grip I think) and if Joost goes with the same concept as in his video (which is likely seeing from Dutch media). Also everyone predicted this to happen with maneskin and blind channel in 21 and it worked for both.
I actually think the Netherlands will win televote(everyone thinks it will be Croatia). Joost is an entertainer, he'll have no problem getting the audience going and the song is very catchy.
@livinglegendlanadelrey true, furthermore, I'm rather concerned about Easter European juries than about their televoters, because they might put some very conservative people up there. Random conservatives in these countries probably aren't gonna watch it in large numbers and won't be voting anyway. Plus, televoters seem to be younger on average and more liberal and open minded than the average juror.
To be honest I have a different opinion, I think people want Nemo to win more because they are non-binary than for the song, which in reality is not getting much love…I was also quite surprised to see that he keeps using “I” instead of “we” when talking about themselves
Cyprus is probably out. To me Its just not catchy enough. It might be a very entertaining show tho but musically it just doesn't do a lot for me. Its also super unlikely for all 3 songs that perform 1st , 2nd and 3rd to qualify. And Serbia and Lithuania are IN. So yeah sorry Cyprus
I agree with the unpopular opinion that Nemo could mess up his performance with a poor styling choice if he wears a little girl's dress again. I mind when grown-ups dress like infants for the stage, that is a poor styling choice for me, very jarring, enough to distract from the song. It is memorable, but not in a good way. I doubt I am in the minority
True. I really don’t understand why there is no other way to present his non-binary self (which does not need to be specifically important) than than dressing like a 4 years old.
Europe are sleeping on Australia, and im loving it! I just found out today what Australia are bringing with styling and staging, and I'm shocked......people are definitely going to get a shock. I knew there was a reason Australia have been soo quiet this year....and it's working.
A great example of how a video can do a disservice to a song. The song is great, but I never noticed it until I heard it without looking at that weird video
Ok, San Marino could qualify, also Australia could qualify (I want it), but in this moment is very difficult to say who will be in the final and who will not. The situation could change 10 times. PS: I like your "lemon slices". Interesting earings.
Nobody from the Balkans will win for political reasons, because it's such a competition, even if we have the best song. I think that next year even fewer countries should participate, so let the competitions of Sweden, Ukraine, Switzerland and Italy go round and round. It is enough that the same countries win every two years.
Either that or we see another Alika thing happen to Portugal if they Q, as they want to keep their Fdc staging which is so so interesting. I personally love both entries Lithuania's and Portugal's and would love to see this tbh.
I beleive they will looking at all the recent pre parties and live performances Malta and Latvia have been very consistent with thier vocals and execution - in comparison to some of the other songs that are predicted to do well in thier semi finals...... are not being as consistent😬 also there's no actual reason why they shouldn't be able to qualify from thier semifinal. In my opinion Austria could easily not qualify due to Vocals and execution.
my unpopular opinion : this year we are going to have a tie with2 (even possibly 3) songs having the same number of points, and the winner will have to be decided by counting the number of 12 points
Yeah i feel like Australia will qualify. As the days go by, the song is standing out more than the other frontrunners. The frontrunners are sounding old now, but Australia's song is getting better and better
Here's the question tho. If you think Australia is gonna Q, who's gonna NQ? Ukraine, Lithuania, Croatia and Finland are guaranteed in a tele only semi. You're feeling strong about Serbia, Slovenia and Cyprus Qing and think Portugal ain't impossible. Poland has too much diaspora in this semi to NQ. That only leaves one slot, and considering Luxembourg is closing I assume you expect it to Q. So, who is it? Someone gotta drop for Australia.
I actually think it's really possible. They just seem to have everything. They're not particularly jury repelling, it's epic enough for people to remember it, they don't have direct competition and they haven't won recently. Norway has it all.
The Problem with our song (I'm Norwegian) is that it doesn't have a sing-along chorus. I have heard it on Radio 3 times since February. "Queen of Kings" was on radio twice a day, from February to May. If we didn't win last year, we won't win this year. The chorus is just screaming. I love the verses, but I wish they had a normal chorus people could sing along to 😐
@@knutagon Obviously a pop song like "Queen of Kings" is more radio-friendly than a folk rock song. I'm surprised "Ulveham" even got played on the radio in the first place, because it's so out-of-the-box.
Sorry came to this post of yours today and missed it yesterday but hope you see this, its just to say tonight is a eurovision feast here in uk. BBC broadcasting 1974 eurovision followed by eurovision at 60 on BBC4 and on BBC2 5 and a half hours of ABBA at the BBC,various programmes ABBA did for BBC TV such as ABBA in Switzerland in 1979 and many more
San Marino: I don't think they're likely to qualify, but I do believe that one or two of the 7-8 that everyone has as a sure qualifier will flop, and in that case, they're a possible surprise Italy: I don't think Italy will win neither the jury nor the televote, but I'd leave a space for the whole thing. If there's a year where the winner will take none of those will be this one (this goes for Croatia too, even tho I see him as an even unlikelier winner) Australia: I don't know what this song is missing on people sleeping on it. In my ears they should win the semi, but that's not going to happen Georgia and Austria: another thing I don't get is what people see in Austria. It's a remain of one of the worst times in modern music. I don't see what people see in Georgia, but I believe I'm actually sleeping on it Two horse race: I was kinda with it until it said Croatia. I have Italy and Switzerland as my main candidates, but Croatia, the Netherlands and Ukraine are not that far off Azerbaijan: I don't think it's boring but I also don't think it's a song for most people, a bit like Latvia last year but not as interesting Slovenia and Cyprus: are people sure of them qualifying? I think it's closer to a borderline than anything, with Cyprus more out than in Belgium: I think people got enough of a break with Bond ballads, but neither OP nor I did Spain: I don't know about repetitive, but I think it's more of an acquired taste to me. I love that thing Switzerland: no televote juggernaut should do well enough to overtake Switzerland's jury, but I do think it might be close. Maybe Croatia, but it's not enough of a top dog with the people Sweden: no it's not, The Weeknd is the hottest thing right now. The song might be a poor imitation of it with a good production, but it's not dated Israel: yeah, but not for musical reasons Why Switzerland won't win: haaaaaaaaaaaaa. I won't give an opinion in my shorts and old and broken football shirt Serbia: it's a balkan ballad. They're both a masterpiece and a bathroom break at the same time Greece: Telemoveis was never secure in that semi. I think the world is ready now for it. Zari to finish top 3 in the semi Predicted top 10: that's not an unpopular opinion, that's just math! As hard as it is to predict the winner this year is, I think the bottom half of the top 10 will have some surprises too UK: this has no trail. I want to say upper right side at best but with a great performance I can see the televote bringing it to the top 10. Norway: yeah, I don't see this getting anywhere close to what people think Belgium winning: April fools I guess? Ireland ever winning: it just takes one good song Portugal and Serbia both making it: sure Finland: yeah, I have it very on the verge, maybe even out Czechia: I think if the vocals are polished it might even finish top 5 in its semi, but like people say it is now there's no shot of it getting close to the final Malta: if there's something about Sweden is that the songs will always be the best those songs can be, so I will not say top 10, but maybe a great result for what Malta usually does might be in the realm of possibility Albania: it could qualify, saying will is a bit too strong of a word to me France: not unpopular but yes Semi 2: I have 3 sure qualifiers, a bunch of "this should normally make it" and like 5 or 6 songs that in my head fight for the last two spots. I believe 1 or 2 of those that should make it will fall, but there's no way Switzerland (a trip in and of itself), The Netherlands (probably the most certified showman in the whole competition) and Armenia (sugar encarnate) are staying behind Armenia: I wouldn't put it that far, but like top 7 in the final's televote should be possible My unpopular opinion is that not only will Cyprus not qualify, it will place in last in its semi
One unpopular opinion I have been keeping in myself for weeks is that Netherlands' song is not that funny and whatever to people outside Netherlands and their neighbourhood. I am from ex-Yu and I feel nothing really. I even remember many fans saying they're disappointed right after premiere of the song.
That kind of music is appreciated in netherlands and north Europe but is generally disliked in south and western Europe so your opinion is just normal i think.
It's an opinion and you are allowed to have it. Taste in music is subjective so not liking Europapa is not unpopular. I can imagine that it being in dutch does not speak to you as much. Calling something " overrated" though is not an insult to the song but to the people that actually like the song and chose to listen to it. Because they are the ones that rate these songs.
Serbia was pleasant but it was very dull, there was no highs or lows just a constant volume. Some of the entries seem to have the same tune in the background but different words. Cyprus was nice to listen to but the lyrics were lazy, not finishing a line by substituting La La La. Ireland looked great on the video but how they will do the staging with the voice alterations could be fraught If they pull it off it will be a crowd favourite. Australia tried a rock song and it did not get the votes. Australia will never be allowed to win.
Ummm Australia’s rock song finished top 10 and won its semi… I do think Australia has an uphill battle to win but Voyager got the points it deserved- A LOT
I can see georgia getting top 5 tbh. Strong vocal, interesting composition, strong performer, experienced singer. Definitely the biggest potential with the girl bops. Also France has a bigger chance to win than Ukraine, Croatia, Switzerland and Italy And i think the following countries could win next to the favorites - Georgia - Armenia - Lithuania - Serbia - Czechia
People have to understand how unpredictable Eurovision is, like did anyone thought that Belgium Estonia and Australia would end in top 10 last year and Armenia and Slovenia two fan favourites end in top 20 and Serbia barely last place
Unpopular opinion that shouldn’t be that unpopular: Portugal is going to be in the top 10. Grito is the Bridges of this year, it’s going to do really well with the juries and it’s definitely qualifying
Italy not winning is not an unpopular winning. There's a lot of people who don't see it for Italy this year. I see her coming surprisingly lower than we might think
“Marina’s choreographer”…my dear, Angelina booked Rosalía and Madonna’s choreographer, and that was probably done a long ago, considering that she is a dancer and a fan of those bigger artists…don’t be delusional, nobody knows Marina outside of Greece, and Angelina may be young but is not an amateur
@@FedeDiver1 haha ur funny . I'm talking about Eurovision. Of course he did so many other things too . The weird thing is that he was in the greek tv saying I'm proud to be a part of the greek entry ( as he has greek roots and he is coming here often ) . He seemed too excited to work for greece . That's all , chill out
@@dim0000 I’m not toxic, it’s a very different perspective you’re defending, he is a choreographer of big stars appealing to many, especially those doing stuff similar to Rosalìa like Marina does…Angelina has a good manager behind, so of course they went for him, and the fact that he is going to work with Marina is completely irrelevant
Unpopular opinions Malta will definitely qualify. Italy is not winning. Ill say 6-10 Australia is qualifying I love France but its 14-18 again. Spain is 18-26.
Not an unpopular opinion (I have many of those) but just to clarify - Cyprus was not at the Madrid pre-party. I don't know if you were confusing Cyprus for Malta maybe? Or saw Silia perform live somewhere else? She certainly wasn't in Madrid, or else I had a lot more orange juices that night than I thought :p
When she talks about Italy i always sense a little bit of hatred idk why, Angelina is probably the most talented singer than anyone else this year vocally😅
Definitely no hatred, and especially not towards Angelina. The only people we could hate if Italy wins are the organisers at RAI. They did not give a sh*t about Eurovision 2022 and no one trusts them anymore. I wouldn't mind Italy winning and giving the organisation to a country that will actually care.
She literally said she loves their song, but she says she doesn't think Italy will win because of direct competition, especially after Angellina announced she'll have dancers just like many other entries
THIS IS HILARIOUS. 🙄 I can literally sit here and say I love a song and y’all still find a way to be in your feelings and talk shit- ridiculous 😂 get a hug
@@TH2714cry a bit louder lol.... RAI was f over by EBU in 2022, they're not the only ones to blame... the truth is you guys are just obsessed with that dumb black sun
My unpopular opinion is that Croatia is not going to do so well. I think jury could leave it middle table and with the televote, if Finland and Ireland go through wouldn't be unique in being not mainstream! I sincerely see it reaching 10th at highest!
San Marino SHOULD qualify! Italy has winner equity, but not the trajectory to land in first place (it's going to miss out big and land 6th or worse I think) Australia is in my personal top 5 and SHOULD qualify. The budget lyric video did the song a disservice. I am getting Austria 2022 (Halo) deja vu attacks from Austria this year. It fully might not qualify imo. Georgia's song is pretty much does nothing for me and I won't miss it if it doesn't qualify. I'm manifesting a Croatia win. It's in my top 3 and I'm not delusional enough to think that Norway will win the entire thing. Slovenia has a chance of not qualifying. I am not confident in the execution at all. Like it's not gonna be bad, but it's not gonna be something the locals might vote for. Belgium is probably going to qualify then flop in the grand final. It's in my top 10 but I'm not seeing the vision for the live staging. Spain's vocal is holding it back a bit. The overall package might save it from last place, but I don't see it climbing out of the 20s Switzerland confirmed the vocals, but the styling is a point of contention for me. And the staging is not coming together in my head. I certainly agree that Sweden has the chance to win the jury. Even if it gets a Dance You Off televote, it's still going to land in the top 10 in the grad final. Whatever Israhell's final placement is, I'm removing it from the grand final anyway. Serbia's first 30 seconds is the song's worst part imo. And I honestly think that will affect its televote score. I like Portugal's song a bit more (I think), but it does lack that hook that Serbia definitely has with the "lila ramonda" part. I would love for both of them to get to the grand final and I do think we will (kinda like Lithuania and Ireland 2018 situation)
This is such a tiring, xenophobic comment. No, we do NOT vote for our neighbours at all costs. Even Our diaspora ain't voting when they don't like the song
I don't know if it really is an unpopular opinion, but Ukraine is not a contender to win and the war will not really affect the results. Not only this year, but in the future I think.
My unpopular opinion is that Israel will win the Jury votes 👀 I think EBU not disqualifying them sends a message to the jury to judge them on equal grounds. I think it will be big drama inmmedia if any jury was to put Israel in bottom 15.
*If any jury put Israel out of Top 10, there will be big drama in the media. I don't believe it to get many 12's, but I think it will get points from pretty much all juries.
My personal opinion on these opinions :D 1 UO: I agree, I think it has a shot 2 UO: erm not sure, Italy always does better than they should so they’re guaranteed to get into the top 10 but I’m iffy about them winning 3 UO: I could see it happen 4 UO: Georgia could well not qualify but Austria is such a bop that it has to qualify (unless her vocals are horrible) 5 UO: yeah no, it’s really between Italy, Switzerland, and Ukraine and honestly Croatia has no chance to win 6 UO: personally I think it’s really boring 7: wow, Cyprus sure, but Slovenia has a good chance. Also I love Austria but yeah Belgium is overrated 8 UO: I wouldn’t say it that boring but it’s wayyyyyyy toooooo repetitive 9 UO: it has by far the highest chance since this year is coming down to doing exactly in both categories. Croatia won’t win because it has nothing for the jury but Italy and Switzerland are the main contenders 10 UO: it’s not that dated but it’s REALLY cheesy 11 UO: there’s no shot 12 UO: oooop, they and Luna are the most stylistic people of the year 13 UO: AGREE, being 2nd in the running with a song that could be seen as boring will make people turn of the show. 14 UO: I could see that especially because of the repetition. 15 UO: that’s a given 16 UO: top 15 will even be a struggle 17 UO: it’s not gonna flop but it’s not gonna win 18 UO: it may have a shot but I can see it pulling a France 2023 19 UO: if they keep this momentum that they’re building then yeah 20 UO: one of them won’t make it and I fear it’s Serbia 21 UO: it’s such a clown show that it will get through as all ESC clowns 22 UO: I don’t think so 23 UO: pedestal eh not if it’s the same performer but yeah probably loop 24: pretty unpopular 25 UO: oh yeah easily 26 UO: I totally agree 27 UO: yeah I can see it if it was a ballad heavy year like 2022 was
My unpopular opinion is that Switzerland ,Belgum ,Portugal and Serbia is so overated! I don' t want to see this songs in the final! Australia,Czesh ,Cyprus and Luxemburg are black horses! Lithuania will be a surprise! Maybe in top 5! Israel deserves first place, because has the best song, but for political reasons will not be first! Europpapa will be the winner, even though i like more Croatia and Greece!
My unpopular opinion is that I'm not really feeling Austria and Belgium this year and everybody seems to love them
Saaamee
Ouu I don't like as well.
Me neither!
Completely with you on Austria, I rlly don't get the appeal but everyone is raving (pun intended) about it
It absolutely is an unpredictable year. It’s between Ukraine, Croatia, Switzerland, The Netherlands, and Italy. At least. I think Greece might be pretty high up, too.
I think France is overrated, but France is definitely a contender
@@zalmankelber3078 I agree
As an Australian, I appreciate you living in your world of delusion
People said I was crazy but I was right
Your accent is lovely, very Canadian/ American ish.
When live gives you lemons... you make earrings!
I really like Azerbaijan’s entry. Gave me all the feels 1st time I heard it.
Alesia hearing “telemóveis” and getting TRIGGERED !😂😂😂 Still cant believe they did not qualify…
Honestly people should just stop confirming that an act will not qualify. Have we not learned anything from Belgium 2023, Moldova 2021, Poland 2023, and Australia 2023??? Give it a rest people.
Everyone of these, except for maybe Moldova 2021, was a safe qualifier, and not only in my opinion, but also in the odds.

Your opinion that Italy won't win Eurovision 2024 is reasonable, but I still think we're going to Bologna next year
I'm rooting for Italy but I'm having a hard time believing it will win. I don't think it's winning the juries and it could possibly be outside the televote top5. I really want to be wrong but I think it'll do terrible in eastern european and balkan countries.
I’ve been waiting for Switzerland to click in for me like Netherlands eventually did. Still hasn’t happened. Not even in my top 20… 😬
@@berlineczka i feel like songs like these tend to work well when it's an all-out message song (e.g. conchita wurst or verka), but i fear that this one is too crazy for many, while not being campy/cheesy/catchy enough for voters that usually go for that type of entry. it falls right in between that mainstream/non-mainstream category and i'm not entirely sure if that is the right place to be
This is the best year ever! I find myself listening to all songs and not skip any at all! ❤❤❤
Same here! A part from Estonia of course 😅
San Marino will get 12 pts from Spain.
Yes. And I definitely see them qualifying.
💀💀💀 Alesia defending Nemo's styling "Do we need arms? Do we need legs?" Hahahahaha
So I do need arms and legs 😅
Parla, la gente purtroppo parla, non sa di che c…
Italy will do great this year imo!
Unpopular opinion: Angelina Mango deserves more love! ❤🇮🇹✨
Never seen such hate to Italy like this year 😢
All I see is love for Italy 🤷♀️
My unpopular opinion is that Malta's girlbop is by far the best out of any of them. Sarah Bonnici coming to slay.💅
Agree 💯
Of all the pop girls this year, Sarah is by far pop girling the best.
Sarah is selling it! She is one of the best and sweetest artist on the preparties. I didn't like the song but she won me over with her personality.
Totally agree
She’s preparing the stage with Rosalia choreographer. I think this year we will have a good stage. Maybe we will not win, but the effort is there. Best of luck everyone! Love from ❤🇮🇹

Wishful thinking?
This is really an unpopular opinion! But I agree. All the time I‘ve asking myself what the f people see in this entry? The whole composition - music, vocals, lyrics are just questionable imo. Now people bring up the sad history of the singer early orphaned and his song‘s being about his dad. Yes. It’s sad. But I still can‘t like the music.
The song is not bad, but it might flop if they don't include English subtitles 👀
@@knutagon I hope they don’t do that, it’s always better to stay true to yourself. We already have lots of cheesy English lyrics to listen to. #votefornativelanguages

😂😂🤞
Yes, I think, juries are gonna save him from that.
@@in_wino_veritasRight. Some folks are getting scared that Germany (means German money) could leave the contest. Many people have already lost interest in the competition… coming last everytime is considered worse than not participating. @@Werderina yes, maybe even a few places higher than that.

Same!
Oh…
@@livinglegendlanadelrey I didn't say it was a popular opinion 🤣
Honestly I think they had a chance of qualification if they were closing the semi, but it's gotten possibly the worst draw possible.
Outside the ESC Bubble many people will spontaneously like it, I think. Don’t get brainwashed by odds and opinions epressed on influencial channels
I don't think he is into it like most other artists are. He seems like he's over it.
Surprising Q: Malta, San Marino
Shock NQ: Belgium, Austria
Also another unpopular opinion:
Norway should be a potential winner and it’s sad y’all don’t see that for them😞✊ Im hoping the locals surprisingly eat it up
Y’all keep saying it’s going to do a Eaea but this kinda singing isn’t the crazy to people that enjoy rock music.
I completely agree 🥰😍
How Portugal is so underrated? Grito is a musical masterpiece!
Oof 😳
Greek guy here. Most of the opinions here weren't THAT unpopular, it wasn't that someone said "Albania will win this year". Personal favorites were that Norway will pull a Blanca Paloma, and Finland will NQ. What I think? Every year there's a favorite that flops badly, and a hidden in the bottom country will rise. For the first part I see Belgium...or Greece , please God no (I am Greek as I said but I fear if the song will come across to the public)
Cool earings!
I’m Ukrainian, loved your song and the singer soooo much, hope you will get a high score!
Hm.. when you think that Zitti was ''weirdo''...

Switzerland or Croatia won't win
Ukraine are still a huge contender for the win
Belgium's song needs sth strong vocally in its ending. If that doesn't happen then it's going to be trouble
Also I know doing too much but I have another one:
I don’t think both Netherlands and Croatia will get top 5 in the televote and definitely both aren’t getting in the top 3.
@@ameliab9391 The Netherlands is the televote winner, I agree.
I'm a little bit scared for Switzerland. People are hating on Nemo for their styling and are saying the conservative East won't vote for it
that would be absolutely a shame for Nemo, they seems like a kind and nice souls
I dont know.. a lot of people voted for conchita. I think the song will be the divisive factor, not the way they dress
@@FedeDiver1Why would they use "we"? Being non-binary is not like having dissociative personality disorder. "They" is a neutral pronoun here.
I agree. I agree. I COULD NOT AGREE MORE
My unpopular opinion is Moldova will be on final… Every year they are at the bottom but on live they are the suprise
My unpopular opinion is that Lithuania will qualify but it will flop hard in the final like Serbia last year.
I agree
2 mins into the video and I already agree with the unpopular opinion that San Marino can qualify!
The strange video didn’t help Australia‘s song at all!
Completely agree ❤❤

Either that or we see another Alika thing happen to Portugal if they Q, as they want to keep their Fdc staging which is so so interesting. I personally love both entries Lithuania's and Portugal's and would love to see this tbh.
I think both Latvia and Malta can qualify! That's my unpopular opinion aha
Norway can win
my unpopular opinion : this year we are going to have a tie with2 (even possibly 3) songs having the same number of points, and the winner will have to be decided by counting the number of 12 points
I mean that’s very unlikely but it would be kinda gaggy ngl
Ireland, Azerbaijan, Iceland, Moldova & Cyprus/Portugal ig
Australia could extremely plausibly beat Slovenia, Cyprus or Poland
Norway wins. That is my unpopular opinion.
I’m with you, and happy for San Marino to make an impact and get through.
I actually think it's really possible. They just seem to have everything. They're not particularly jury repelling, it's epic enough for people to remember it, they don't have direct competition and they haven't won recently. Norway has it all.
Yup🎉🎉🎉 🇧🇻🇧🇻🇧🇻🇧🇻
The Problem with our song (I'm Norwegian) is that it doesn't have a sing-along chorus.
I have heard it on Radio 3 times since February.
"Queen of Kings" was on radio twice a day, from February to May.

The chorus is just screaming.
I love the verses, but I wish they had a normal chorus people could sing along to 😐

I think electric fields will pull a gustaph
Belgium could be a shocking nq
Oh please...build up the imaginery drama
Agree cause they will just use the end of the song to get votes but the whole song is kinda bıring and it repeat it self
I think that they need a revamp. It's not enough to have a great finale, they have to bring more. The live performance wasn't very convincing tbh
San Marino: I don't think they're likely to qualify, but I do believe that one or two of the 7-8 that everyone has as a sure qualifier will flop, and in that case, they're a possible surprise
Italy: I don't think Italy will win neither the jury nor the televote, but I'd leave a space for the whole thing. If there's a year where the winner will take none of those will be this one (this goes for Croatia too, even tho I see him as an even unlikelier winner)
Australia: I don't know what this song is missing on people sleeping on it. In my ears they should win the semi, but that's not going to happen
Georgia and Austria: another thing I don't get is what people see in Austria. It's a remain of one of the worst times in modern music. I don't see what people see in Georgia, but I believe I'm actually sleeping on it
Two horse race: I was kinda with it until it said Croatia. I have Italy and Switzerland as my main candidates, but Croatia, the Netherlands and Ukraine are not that far off
Azerbaijan: I don't think it's boring but I also don't think it's a song for most people, a bit like Latvia last year but not as interesting
Slovenia and Cyprus: are people sure of them qualifying? I think it's closer to a borderline than anything, with Cyprus more out than in
Belgium: I think people got enough of a break with Bond ballads, but neither OP nor I did
Spain: I don't know about repetitive, but I think it's more of an acquired taste to me. I love that thing
Switzerland: no televote juggernaut should do well enough to overtake Switzerland's jury, but I do think it might be close. Maybe Croatia, but it's not enough of a top dog with the people
Sweden: no it's not, The Weeknd is the hottest thing right now. The song might be a poor imitation of it with a good production, but it's not dated
Israel: yeah, but not for musical reasons
Why Switzerland won't win: haaaaaaaaaaaaa. I won't give an opinion in my shorts and old and broken football shirt
Serbia: it's a balkan ballad. They're both a masterpiece and a bathroom break at the same time
Greece: Telemoveis was never secure in that semi. I think the world is ready now for it. Zari to finish top 3 in the semi
Predicted top 10: that's not an unpopular opinion, that's just math! As hard as it is to predict the winner this year is, I think the bottom half of the top 10 will have some surprises too
UK: this has no trail. I want to say upper right side at best but with a great performance I can see the televote bringing it to the top 10.
Norway: yeah, I don't see this getting anywhere close to what people think
Belgium winning: April fools I guess?
Ireland ever winning: it just takes one good song
Portugal and Serbia both making it: sure
Finland: yeah, I have it very on the verge, maybe even out
Czechia: I think if the vocals are polished it might even finish top 5 in its semi, but like people say it is now there's no shot of it getting close to the final
Malta: if there's something about Sweden is that the songs will always be the best those songs can be, so I will not say top 10, but maybe a great result for what Malta usually does might be in the realm of possibility
Albania: it could qualify, saying will is a bit too strong of a word to me
France: not unpopular but yes
Semi 2: I have 3 sure qualifiers, a bunch of "this should normally make it" and like 5 or 6 songs that in my head fight for the last two spots. I believe 1 or 2 of those that should make it will fall, but there's no way Switzerland (a trip in and of itself), The Netherlands (probably the most certified showman in the whole competition) and Armenia (sugar encarnate) are staying behind
Armenia: I wouldn't put it that far, but like top 7 in the final's televote should be possible
My unpopular opinion is that not only will Cyprus not qualify, it will place in last in its semi
This is the year where all my opinions are actually popular😂😂
Malta could qualify.
One unpopular opinion I have been keeping in myself for weeks is that Netherlands' song is not that funny and whatever to people outside Netherlands and their neighbourhood. I am from ex-Yu and I feel nothing really. I even remember many fans saying they're disappointed right after premiere of the song.
Should’ve carried on keeping it in❤
That kind of music is appreciated in netherlands and north Europe but is generally disliked in south and western Europe so your opinion is just normal i think.
I am from north of Europe and I agree with the first comment. Dont like it at all.
Same with me, a Ukrainian. I find the whole thing annoying
My 🇮🇹random top 10
Estonia Netherland France Greece England Armenia Croatia Spain and maybe San Marino e Latvia.. For now..
Ummm Australia’s rock song finished top 10 and won its semi…
I do think Australia has an uphill battle to win but Voyager got the points it deserved- A LOT
San Marino is one of the best entries of this year. Yes, I'm serious.
I know it's one of my favourites!
Ole💃💃 tú 💓🖤🤟Megara👏👏👏son un huracán en escenario 😊
My unpopular opinion: Greece and Norway may both struggle to qualify 😎
I can see georgia getting top 5 tbh. Strong vocal, interesting composition, strong performer, experienced singer. Definitely the biggest potential with the girl bops.
Also France has a bigger chance to win than Ukraine, Croatia, Switzerland and Italy
And i think the following countries could win next to the favorites
- Georgia
- Armenia
- Lithuania
- Serbia
- Czechia
Maybe top 5 in the semi and even that’s a stretch😭
I think Slovenia is not qualifying :(. But hopefully I'll be proven wrong
As if I didn't already trust Alesia with my life, she pulls the Viktor & Rolf reference for dressing Nemo to prove how correct she is.
Do not put that negative energy into the universe
My unpopular opinions:
Slovenia will be a shock NQ.
Malta and Australia will qualify.
My unpopular opinion is that I am not feeling Belgium and Croatia: there are much better entries this year.
Yeah angelina just booked marina's choreographer. Weird
That's all , chill out
@@FedeDiver1and yeah as he is the choreographer for greece , now he is marinas choreographer too . Don't be that toxic 😃
He chooses himself who he wants to work with?
Unpopular opinions
Malta will definitely qualify.
Italy is not winning. Ill say 6-10
Australia is qualifying
I love France but its 14-18 again.
SKG party 👍🏾
I sense the same even if she says she „loves“, I perceive the opposite
THIS IS HILARIOUS. 🙄 I can literally sit here and say I love a song and y’all still find a way to be in your feelings and talk shit- ridiculous 😂 get a hug
@@TH2714cry a bit louder lol.... RAI was f over by EBU in 2022, they're not the only ones to blame... the truth is you guys are just obsessed with that dumb black sun
Would you say it is possible that Hera does a Gustaph?
Is it possible? Sure. Should it? No, in my opinion Australia is giving more Gustaph than even he is giving.
Could you see a world where neither Netherlands nor Croatia landslide the televote?
Neither will landslide it. But one of them will be number 1 or 2 I think…
The earrings are so cute! And the opinions spicy!
Thank you! LOL
My unpopular opinion is that Croatia is not going to do so well. I think jury could leave it middle table and with the televote, if Finland and Ireland go through wouldn't be unique in being not mainstream! I sincerely see it reaching 10th at highest!
Wow okay.
Albania will surprise mark my words
San Marino SHOULD qualify!
Italy has winner equity, but not the trajectory to land in first place (it's going to miss out big and land 6th or worse I think)
Australia is in my personal top 5 and SHOULD qualify.
The overall package might save it from last place, but I don't see it climbing out of the 20s
Switzerland confirmed the vocals, but the styling is a point of contention for me.
Australia will be qualifying 🖤💛❤️
my unpopular opinion: This year has a lot of weird songs that the fandom love. They can't ALL succeed.
Truly: They can't all WIN, but being present is success enough.
What about Portugal?
Exactly my thinking. Some people seem to sleep on the emotion grito can provoke and the spot they got in the sf.
We talked about it…
Sweden gets to much hate.
I think so too it’s a nice song🇳🇱
Loved San-Marino so much!!! 12 points from the non-participating Russia LOL
My unpopular opinion is that France is going to be a jury winner.
Slovenia will qualify with all the slavic televotes. Folks underestimate neighbouring voting.
This is such a tiring, xenophobic comment. No, we do NOT vote for our neighbours at all costs. Even Our diaspora ain't voting when they don't like the song
Unpopular opinion: Belgium not qualifying
I don't know if it really is an unpopular opinion, but Ukraine is not a contender to win and the war will not really affect the results. Not only this year, but in the future I think.
I agree with you 100%
My unpopular opinion is that Israel will win the Jury votes 👀
I think EBU not disqualifying them sends a message to the jury to judge them on equal grounds.
I think it will be big drama inmmedia if any jury was to put Israel in bottom 15.
*If any jury put Israel out of Top 10, there will be big drama in the media.
I don't believe it to get many 12's, but I think it will get points from pretty much all juries.
My unpopular opinion is that i really like ireland
My unpopular opinion is Greece doesn’t any sense of music, is a chaotic mess.
As a Greek an unpopular opinion could be Greece 🇬🇷 not qualifying or floping in the Final (if the staging and voice are not good) 😞
She sing super good live and she has the same choreographer of Rosalia, Madonna (and Angelina). I think you can stop being afraid.
@@baroncicala1934 Yes, she has a good voice indeed but i've heard some stuffs about the staging 😂 Will be one shoot and that's too risky 😬
My personal opinion on these opinions :D
1 UO: I agree, I think it has a shot
2 UO: erm not sure, Italy always does better than they should so they’re guaranteed to get into the top 10 but I’m iffy about them winning
3 UO: I could see it happen
4 UO: Georgia could well not qualify but Austria is such a bop that it has to qualify (unless her vocals are horrible)
5 UO: yeah no, it’s really between Italy, Switzerland, and Ukraine and honestly Croatia has no chance to win
6 UO: personally I think it’s really boring
7: wow, Cyprus sure, but Slovenia has a good chance. Also I love Austria but yeah Belgium is overrated
8 UO: I wouldn’t say it that boring but it’s wayyyyyyy toooooo repetitive
9 UO: it has by far the highest chance since this year is coming down to doing exactly in both categories. Croatia won’t win because it has nothing for the jury but Italy and Switzerland are the main contenders
10 UO: it’s not that dated but it’s REALLY cheesy
11 UO: there’s no shot
12 UO: oooop, they and Luna are the most stylistic people of the year
13 UO: AGREE, being 2nd in the running with a song that could be seen as boring will make people turn of the show.
14 UO: I could see that especially because of the repetition.
15 UO: that’s a given
16 UO: top 15 will even be a struggle
17 UO: it’s not gonna flop but it’s not gonna win
18 UO: it may have a shot but I can see it pulling a France 2023
19 UO: if they keep this momentum that they’re building then yeah
20 UO: one of them won’t make it and I fear it’s Serbia
21 UO: it’s such a clown show that it will get through as all ESC clowns
22 UO: I don’t think so
23 UO: pedestal eh not if it’s the same performer but yeah probably loop
24: pretty unpopular
25 UO: oh yeah easily
26 UO: I totally agree
27 UO: yeah I can see it if it was a ballad heavy year like 2022 was
My unpopular opinion is that Switzerland ,Belgum ,Portugal and Serbia is so overated!
Do you see Norway grabbing non ESC fans like Maneskin?
No. This is very much so what many of us come to Eurovision for.
