Sir, I have a question Rice is mostly cultivated in North India and Alluvial soil is mostly found in North India than why clay soil is suitable for Rice cultivation?
In clayey soils, water does not seep well. Since rice requires standing water, it can be grown well in clayey soil. Also, North India's soil is not really suitable for growing rice but after the government had announced MSP on both wheat and rice, famers started to grow it more.
