I travel solo. Took my first ever trip to Cancun this last February. Going to Los Cabos, 1st again, solo in February. Is this a good destination for solos?
For solo travel I wouldn't stay here. I met my friends who traveled down from NY so I had people with me but I wouldn't want to come solo. More for families not much entertainment going on during day to have people mingle etc
@@zaharoulab Hello & THANKS for posting this informative video. I've stayed at The Barcelo Maya Grand Resort nearly every year since it opened. As recent as last year//2022 & I'll soon make my reservations again for this year. In the early years, this resort consisted only of Maya Beach & Caribe. It's been interesting for me to see the expansion & many improvements over the past 3+ decades. Since 2007, I've lived in Yucatan & Barcelo Maya Grand Resort is a 2-hour drive from my home. So, I'd like to comment on a few points regarding your video. 1.) Yes, the iguanas are very often seen sunning themselves. But MANY different animals live on the grounds of this resort and Barcelo provides for their habitat. The small mammals avoid the heat & you'll see them early morning & early evening. The Kudamundi are primarily nocturnal. But at the resort, you'll sometimes see them during the day. 2.) Barcelo Resorts with multiple swimming pools "typically" divide their characteristics in an attempt to please guests by providing options. At this resort, they have thoroughly accomplished their goal. Maya Beach has a somewhat lively & mainly family-oriented main pool as well as a smaller, adults-only pool. The Caribe has the pool you are looking for. It's a large, VERY LIVELY pool with music, pool aerobics, etc. As you experienced, The Tropical has a sedate family-oriented pool. Guests can use the pools of all the main resorts. As I recall, guests are restricted from using facilities at the new adults-only resort at the South end & The Palace at the North end of the resort property. I've never stayed at either of these properties. I've always rotated my stays at the 3 center properties in a "Premium Level" Suite & I've never been stopped from using the pools at either of these 2 outer properties. Even though I was told they are restricted to their specific guests only. If you ever visit Barcelo Maya Grand Resort again & you have a sincere complaint, I assure you the management is very attentive to resolving issues guests bring to their attention. Even something as mundane as a nonfunctioning ice machine. 🙂 Best regards from Yucatan Mexico, Ben

Go on March break and the pools are a rocking . Was there in 2023 and not for me at 57 but was into it when I was younger.. Have fun always!
Yea there is a resort for everyone
Do they have the golf carts to drive guests around the resort?
No, not for each section. They have a bus to take you around the entire compound.
Great video, we are thinking of going and cant decide which one to stay at this one for the Colonial. We are
retired, what do you think.
They are both right next to each other and connected, I think both were nice :) sometimes one has price deals if thats something to look out for
Question, :The steakhouse in Italian restaurant included? Thank you.💜
Yes all specialty restaurants included, you can reconfirm when calling for reservations

How far is the resort from the airport
About 45 minutes depending on traffic
No umbrellas on the beach?
No, there is tons of tall palm trees that give shade
@@zaharoulab thanks!
Do you have to wear masks anywhere? Also did you have problems getting in the resort with the Cabbies and Uber drivers fighting?
No masks, I don't think there is Uber near the area but bell hop will call cab and there is a process going in and out of resort
Is it mandatory to say certain words with an accent 🤔
At the resort? No
