Oh , yes, thanks for the guide , it’s not often such a clear explanation is given for set up of what at first appearance seems a complex turntable , well done .

Hi guys - just wanted to say thanks so much for this guide.
I inherited a Simplex from my father, and after 2yrs in storage I finally got up the courage yesterday to assemble it.
Your video guide was so much easier to follow than written instructions - reckon you saved me many hours of frustration there.
So yes - thanks to you, I was able to set it up in a few hours and experience the lovely sound this turntable produces ❤

I just got a fairly unused Amadeus GTA and this video and your others has been really really helpful as I am terrible at mechanical things. You mention stuff that worries me that instruction manuals do not even bother to discuss like which way the platter goes on. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

    We want Frank !
Thanks , for the steps shown . It’s a turntable of genius , with the deconstruction of design , reducing to their essential function and seems in doing so to also have reduced all the potential problems we’re so used to with turntables . I love its unpretentiousness . A golf ball is a perfect designed form , so make use of it and don’t disguise it either , perfect ! I’ve been looking at a second hand Simplex 1 and haven’t pulled the trigger yet because there is also a Townshend Rock for the same price , a turntable I’ve long admired and wanted . Both are brilliant designs but approaching damping from similar but opposite ends of the tonearm ! I just can’t make my mind up which to go for ! Any advice from someone with experience of either is appreciated .

Really nice turntable,,funny I was going to use this same type of laminated wood like that for my plinth because I had a bunch leftover from a job. Nice design here.

Ideally you want the back of the tonearm pivot points to be at record surface level a spacer with with a slope of 5 to 7 degrees can be used made from bolster Wood to get your rake angle back again.
Still no way to adjust for cartridge can you slide the tonearm tube in the golf ball? why don't they make the option for adjustment of cartridge overhang.

Hi James, I wonder can you answer a question form,em about the Well Tempered Classic with the round , inset pod and whether the motor is an AC or DC ?I’ve been wanting to bring one over from the USA to UK and the problems with the power supply seem rather difficult . Less so if it’s DC .could I perhaps replace the motor totally with a. Origin live DC motor and PSU to solve it ?
    Any advice is appreciated !
I love to see the videos you make, with the attention to detail and help to viewers with less orthodox turntables . Turntables that are genius minimalism and beautiful that don’t shout their design genius but seem to sit their knowingly !

Hi. Shouldn't be a problem, you just need a new wall power supply. Give the UK Well Tempered distributor a call. Pear Audio I believe.

It is, takes a couple of days to all run out when upside down. But we very rarely have to do this. Only when someone is shipping their turntable via courier somewhere.

Wrong! You need two turns of the ring are necessary! Otherwise it will pull strongly from the center

The Simplex II is £1990 in the UK. It WILL significantly 'Outperform' almost all decks at up to Twice the price (even more in many cases).
There are no 'metal to metal' contact points when playing to degrade the sound and introduce unwanted energy.
We have sold, and set-up, many Well Tempered decks over the years, and done many A-Bs against other decks.
Good video guys but not enough attention to the arm lead out wire dressing.
      Bill Firebeaugh is a Genius!

@@mikemanning4356 I think people confuse silver aesthetics with sound quality sometimes . This seems a highly researched , technical turntable that uses processes and materials for function rather than aesthetics .,so many turntables also go use traditional materials of ones that are just contemporary versions . It seems the WT have thought about every function from the beginning and thought less laterally about how to use materials and which to use .
As an artist ,m8 really appreciate the whole form and function approach , and the ways they’ve deconstructed the tonearm and platter bearing .its always so simple when someone else has thought of it and shown us all what’s possible !
